I think that Cherub has his place in Lilith lists with the correct Scheme pool.

Not arguing with you on this. I am addicted to that extra card draw, hard to give that up.

  2. My "crutch" model is the Primordial Magic. If it is Lilith or Pandora I just almost auto include it. I recently picked up the Lucius box set. Looked at the scribe and thanks what is OURS for the Primordial Magic. I look at the scheme pool first then try to anticipate what my opponent might take before i select a master and build a list

  3. As much as I think the idea of a starter box is good. You get people in the game two people can start playing in about a day or so (assembling models) I think the small rule book, fate deck and a crew box is the best way for people to jump in the game.

  4. To be honest, I know it seems like a huge investment, but I would personally recommend the Lilith box set, then pick up the Nephilim box set after. I myself started with that and it is what help teach me the game and getting Barbie down then switching to Lilith with Barbie when I moved to 50SS games made life a lot easier.

  5. OK, so I have used him in a few games, he is meh at best. Sure he opens NB up to some condition removal but Johan (Johanna) do it so much better. With Lynch sure you can discard two aces and pick them back up. But with that you have to first get two aces. Now with Lucius, I personally haven't started playing with him, but looking at his synergies, I am not sure why you would want to replace a lawyer with him.

I am not a fan of the Scion. For his points he is just too much. He has a place in Neverborn we just haven't found it yet.

  6. I am Neverborn biased, Dreamer, and Lilith. Dreamer because you can go either two ways with him, LCB or Summoning. Lilith gives you so much else you can do. And you are going to have a few solid cross over models like Waldgeist etc.As I am not a Resser player, I do paint my buddies models who is one. Seamus and Nicodem have a ton of models you need due to how they are played. So you are looking at a lot more models.

Your on to something there; the tactica threads are so intimidating due to their sheer stop-start text mass.

Basically, I just wanted a print copy that was more organized with headings and such, color, and without typos. *shrug*. It's a good tactica...

No it is a great tactica, the issue is that it is in a threat on a forum rather than in a clean and concise wiki. You are pouring through a shit ton of post on this threat to have to find the information you are looking for. I addressed this in another thread so I will stop my ranting about it.

  8. So I've copied the posts of the Tactica, revised them in Word, and printed them out for study. I'm just getting into The Dreamer, even though I've been working on the Translucent Pink set since last year's Black Friday. He's now to the point where he's playable and I've got 2-3 months of Malifaux play experience with Rasputina under my belt.

OK, this is what is bad you had to copy some of these post put them in Word to study, Where there are fan driven Wiki's we should be updating for these tactics. I am glad to see a new player come to the Dreamer team,

  9. Honestly, that just amazes me. There is a LOT of small company POS systems out there, or software which uses a laptop or computer and any regular printer, and I'm just amazed folks are happy to do without. Hell, our first Gencon ... waaaay back in the day, miniatures only, half booth, we did a cash box. It was horrible - worked out for us - but wasn't fun. Next time about we bought a system. Small, janky, but it worked. Hell the ones we use now work off Ipads.

What I want to know is how do they keep inventory or books? Can't be easy, and paperwork involving either inventory or money is the quickest way to go out of business if you don't have either of those two in hand at any given time.

I shop at the same store bought a few things including Malifaux products and I have never gotten a receipt even when ask for one.

  10. Title says it all.  Specifically, when I declare an action, am I required to tell my opponent if there is a Target Number involved or what the TN is?  I know I don't have to say if I met it until after the cheat fate phase.  For instance, if I am attacking with a CA attacking that has the gun icon with a cast skill of 6, Resist WP, and TN 14, do I just say "Attacking with this ability" or do I say "Attacking with this ability with CA 6, shooting, Resist WP, with a TN".

I would say the type, the resist and if there is a TN. So "SH 5 / DF / TN 10" should be all you need to say. Most players might know what you are attacking with but if it is a newer player give them the courtesy of spelling it out for them. If they are falling in to asshat territory, then move them over to "Attacking with <Named Attack>".
