I. Must. Own. This. Mini.
Immediately!
I love everything about it - the name, the attitude, the penny-farthing, even the cigar. I knew there was a reason I waited to pick up my Willie....

What would I want to get to make a mei feng crew?
This is mostly theory, since I haven't played Mei Feng yet, but with Kang, 2 Rail Workers, and a few upgrades, I would just add Howard Langston and a December Acolyte, assuming you're trying for killy strats and schemes.
Of course, since you already have those models, I might suggest either a Rail Golem (mostly for flavor, since Hank generally outshines it) or Envy (which gets into the Crossroads 7 loveliness and an in on every faction).

Before the errata, I felt like I had to take at least one Metal Gamin just to be competitive, even though the little critters rarely did anything of note. Since the errata, I haven't felt pressured to use them, and I've found other models to take that 4ss slot and earn their stones.

Fluff-based, Molly.
Game Mechanics, Molly.
Aesthetics, Seamus.
And yes, my prime faction is Arcanists, but my 2nd is Rezzers. Guess which two masters I play from that faction....

Howard Langston/Miss Step
Joss
December Acolyte
Envy
Sabertooth Cerberus

Envy.
Decent damage spread, +flip to hit, 0 action focus, and a potential blast combine to make him a serious threat.

That is a lovely list, although I'd be tempted to build into Ramos with all the extra scrap Joss & the Large Arachnid will create.

You're welcome
Also, I sleeve all my stat cards (because penny sleeves are cheaper than replacing stained cards) so my alternate card has the same feel as the other cards (though it is printed in black & white). I sleeved the printed cards with cards from an old CCG (7th Sea, to be specific) to keep them properly rigid.

I've printed out cards from the Shifting Loyalties pdf so that I could proxy the Arcane Emissary. Alas, my proxy mini wasn't quite so official - it was (and still is) a Rocket Raccoon bobblehead attached to a 50mm base.

As I approach the completion of my first year of Malifaux, I play 2 factions: Arcanists and Rezzers. I have 4 masters (in playable form) for the Arcanists, and once I finish painting my Seamus box, I'll have 2 for Rezzers. Of course, I have Tara, Mei Feng, & Kaeris's crew boxes still unassembled, as well as the Crossroads Seven, so I could (after a bit of assembly & paint) field a 50ss crew in any faction....
-
For Ramos, I bought an additional box of Steam Arachnids and an Electrical Creation. I still haven't played the Creation yet, since I lost one of its pieces & haven't yet mustered the will to fix the missing bit.
Other than those, I would add Johan or a ranged fighter of some sort. My current favorites are a December Acolyte (which I already had, since I started with a Raspy crew) or Envy (although I wouldn't recommend picking up the Crossroads 7 immediately).
-
That Raspy is freaking beautiful.
I will have to get it, if only because my Raspy was the first master I painted, and I've gotten a bit better since then. She deserves a better paint job, and that sculpt will be a joy to paint.

Thanks for the quick response.
Time to build for the strategy & tweak my lists after the schemes are revealed.

Any word on scheme pools for each round?
Having those would help me finalize my crew lists for each round (or at least narrow down my options).
-
For Marcus, add Silurids (Neverborn) and Waldgeists (Neverborn).
-
I believe that C. Hoffmann can also hire Joss with his Arcanist Assets upgrade.

1. Find a crew box which looks good to you.
2. Play some games with it.
3. Find some additional models which synergize with your crew.
4. Play some games with them.
5. Repeat.

I would most likely double up on M&SU masters, most likely Ramos & Ironsides. Adding Ramos's summoning & buffs to Ironsides' Hand-Picked Men could be borderline broken, especially in Turf War or Guard the Stash.
-
Steam Arachnids are surprisingly resilient 4ss scheme runners, and come in their own box - which you will need when (not if) you pick up the Ramos box, which also includes two of the most powerful M&SU beaters: Howard Langston and Joss.
Yes, I am assuming that when you start Arcanists, you will have to get a bit more. And more.
-
You are correct. The "within" call out box on page 40 of the core rulebook states that as long as any portion of a model is within the stated range, the model counts as within range.

The Malifaux group at my FLGS has 2 Ebenezer's Emporium mats & one from Mats by Mars. I just got one from Mats by Mars for myself. I've played on both types of mat, and both have worked out well. The mousepad material (Ebenezer's) is slightly nicer to play on since it doesn't curl at all, but it's tough to beat the value for cost on the vinyl mats (Mats by Mars). In my opinion, whichever mat you get should come down to personal preference, but having a mat with scoring & deployment markings makes playing Malifaux a much better gaming experience.

Unfortunately, the Ice Golem cannot (3) Smash on a charge. A charge allows you to make 2 (1) close attacks.
That being said, if you take Imbued Energies on the Ice Golem, it can walk and (3) Smash. Not quite as good, but at least it's a legal play.
-
That is a beautiful piece, and it makes me happy that I just committed to (that is, actually started assembling & painting models for) Ressers as my 2nd faction.
-
Ramos is one of my most-played masters (vying with Raspy for table time), and I've found 9 arachnids & 1 swarm works well for me. I rarely use the swarm, but it's nice having one in case I need it, and I've had 7 arachnids on the table on occasion.

Most fun Masters - for both players

Finishing the last sentence.
I had a game yesterday with Marcus vs. Guild McMourning in Guard the Stash with corner deployment. That was one of the most enjoyable games I've played. It was close the whole way, with the winner not being obvious until the end of turn 5. It was a brutal, back-and-forth game with me burning through over half my deck on my first activation on turn 2. (Fast Sabertooth Cerberus attacking The Judge & hitting the Maul trigger 3 or 4 times. He burned through 5 soulstones trying to stay alive, too.) It helps that I was playing an awesome player, too. Shout out to chmcho for the great game.
