  1. I'm thinking of buying a train engine for terrain for the game.  What size fits most to 30mm models?  The G gauge looks too big, but the O gauge looks too small.  The other two I know (HO & N) are right out.  Anybody experiment with this, or know another gauge that fits better?  Admittedly, I've never collected trains, so I know very little.

  2. Well, I just ordered myself the Wild Ones, WooT!  Wish I coulda' been to GenCon, but thank the Tyrants they have a webstore.

Anyhoo, since my 2016 Nightmare crew is gonna be sitting on the shelf beside McCabe (who will probably never hit the table again in that incarnation), I think to myself, "Self, wouldn't it be nice to have The Dark Carnival sitting on the shelf next to Colette?"  The answer; Yes it would!

But it's not available for sale...

So if anyone would like to sell me an unassembled Dark Carnival box, I'd really like to buy it.  I Got the Scrip, in paypal, USD.

Don't forget the 20 Scrip processing fees...  His Honer Gustavis Fitzwilliam Lucius will be so pleased with all the red tape!

  4. I need to play more opponents.  My group is down to 1 other, he's a good player, better than me, but sometimes I just feel like it's unfair to face the same opponent over, and over, and over, and over....  Vassal looks clunky and unwieldy, but I'd be interested in trying it out, just to get the chance to play other people.  I'm available often, just say when, and I'll be on... :)

  5. So I recently started playing Guild, coming over from Rezers (cause I hate the smell inside pine boxes), and I've yet to win a game with them.  They look awesome, and what they can do rocks, but just isn't working for me.  I think it might be my crew building.  I struggle to build before each game, and tho I may have found it tuff back when I started Rezers, now I can practically build a Rezer crew off the top of my head.  I've even built silly theme crews and rocked it.  It might be that I just don't know Guild models yet, but they look fairly straightforward.

I play a game Monday.  We already know the strategy is Guard The Stash.  And it's a 50 SS game.  I plan to bring Lucas McCabe.  I'm playing against Arcanists, so definately bringing Glowing Saber, and probably Badge of Speed.  I assume I should bring the usual guild suspects; Francisco and two Austringers (which means scheme marker schemes/ convict labor?), Master Queeg looks cool, but he doesn't have too much synergy other than he can take Promises.  Sidir looks even less useful.  And do I even need Promises, or just give it to McCabe?  Should I bring Death Marshalls?  My head hurts!...,..  and that's where I'm at.

Help me find their potential?  Help me build a crew?

Unless my opponent throws a curve-ball Cassandra at me, I'll probably see Joss....

Also, can the the Deliver Orders target place/remove schemes even while engaged?  It honestly never came up with Rezers.

  6. Looking for Alt, Gun Kissing, Perdita (metal if they haven't made her in plastic, yet), Alt Lady J (old metal pose, I think), Miss Demeanor, and Miss Anne Thrope.

Oh, and Dr. Dufresne. and metal Miss Pack...

Willing to pay exorbitant prices thru Paypal with USD.  Prefer to buy from someone in North America (to cut down the shipping fees and wait time).  Thanks :)

  7. So, I got my Guild T-shirt today!  It looks really good (cardinal), and it's of really good quality.  I worry for the lettering, tho.

Now I officially feel like part of the team :ram!!!   (Could someone take this sanctioning collar off, now, it's getting kinda' itchy under there...)

But I had an idea...  A Guild Jersey!  Something sports-like; maybe a button up baseball, but what would be really awesome would be a red and black football (or soccer) jersey with the guild symbol, and maybe some numbers, or names like Latigo or Witchhunter, or Marshall, or Guard, you get the idea.... on the back.

I guess the Arcanists could have one, too...

    :D

  8. Perdita, Perdita, Perdita....... :)

I also turn to this topic on starting up Guild.  ("I've learned the error of my ways; Laws need to be followed for the safety of everyone, and the Soul-Stone trade needs to be organized and maintained by... blah, blah, blah... still gonna raise dead on the weekends...")

Anyways... I appreciate this advice on starting boxes getting into Guild.  And I know about the 8 (11) SS upgrade that is Francisco Ortega...  And I've run Lady J a few times; the in your face approach just isn't my playstyle...  What I wanna know is about Sonnia Criid.  She looks so cool!  Sam, not so much.  And the Handlers.... awesome!  So I went ahead and got her box, three extra Stalkers, and a two-pack of Handlers.  Oh, and the Starter box for Grimwell's gang, since they're witchhunters.  Now I just need to figure them out.  I read Pull-My-Finger. listened to the Sonnia podcast with Godliness, flipped thru arsenal decks....  and lose.

I've been corralling beat-sticks like Howard Langston and Nekima with my walls, and sending my Stalkers out for scheme running.  Burning doesn't happen as much as I would like, and I'm almost ready to leave Reincarnation home (Rezer habits die hard).  Not only that, but once the opponent gets to my side of the table (across my walls), it seems like it's all down hill for Sonnia and the gang.

A friend of mine plays Perdita constantly, and she's great, especially when Francisco el Mayor's her.  But, can we get a little more info on running Sonnia?  The original poster said they were interested in her, so am I...  And Witches need to BURN!

  9. So, I've been building my painting skills over the past several month.  Trying more and more advanced techniques.  (I miss the days of base/wash/dry brush...)  But like everything I do, I have fallen into a bad habit.  I've started practicing "two-brush blending", and I find more often than not, my second brush is being wet not in the rinse cup, but in my mouth... :(

Is this dangerous?  I'm assuming acrylic is non-toxic, and I'm hoping the medium is, too, but it's not like there's an ingredients label on the .4 oz bottles....  Is there any brush-lickers out there that have been doing it for a long time and seen no adverse effects?  Or should I find a way to break this habit now!?!

How about a Molly Slumber Party:

"Oh, it's gonna be so much fun!  We'll get giggly on white wine (ughh, arghh...), do each others' hair (ughh, finger fall off in braid, argh...), talk about boys (Shmus, Shamis, ugh, argh!...), and maybe even a pillow fight!  Francisco will purposely fail a Wp duel just to see what we're up to...."

My biggest concern running this list would be how to get Molly close enough to summon without getting her killed. With no other big targets in the list, it seems fairly easy for an enemy to focus on killing Molly.

I worried the same first time out, but position, position, position.  With a bunch of juvenile ne'er-do-wells as the body of the crew, you can focus more on using the terrain to Molly's advantage.  There's nothing wrong with using an AP to get her behind a wall.  And once all them little bastards are engaged with the enemy, they're gonna have to waste some AP before they can go after our tragic princess, herself...

  12. So, as a goof I assembled a fun little crew.  And it's actually been working!  Sure, I haven't thrown it against the might of, say, the new Ratbomb crew, or a Lillith grow list, but there's always gonna be a crew that shuts down a crew, right?   I ran it against a Collette crew in the hands of the best player our little Malifaux clique has to offer, and tho I didn't win, I really locked up my opponent 'till turn 4, and made him sputter with exacerbation for awhile.

The list seems too simple and unusable, but that's the first step of my evil plan, to fill my opponent with hubris as soon as I reveal my crew.

I would NEVER use this crew for Reckoning!  And probably not if Make Them Suffer is in the pool either.....

The crew works best with Breakthrough, Protect Territory, and Line in the Sand.  Or whatever the new equivalents are.  Chances are one of the first two will be in the scheme pool.  If Distract is in the pool, it is a no brain-er to take, allowing the Crooly's more movement on early turns.

The crew starts with Molly with Forgotten Life and Maniacal Laugh, Bete Noir, Killjoy, and, here's the fun part, SIX crooligans.  I wish I could put Decaying Aura on Killjoy, but that would bring the SS cache down to 4, and he dies too fast to sacrifice even more stones on him.  And Molly is gonna need all 6.

I deploy the crooly's in safe places throughout the board.  Depending on the strategy.  For example, if it's Turf War or Extraction, most will be within 10 inches of the center.  Reconnoiter is a little easier early game, but a bit more of a fight later game, 'cause them Crooly's is gonna die.  (Etc... We all know them all.)  Of course, the angry soccer mom, Bete, and the penguin Molly hired, Killjoy, begin the game buried.

Turn one, the crooly's sit around playing jacks, while Molly works to get to a good location.  (I never realized what a crutch Sybelle and the Doxies were to me for movement until I had to live without them.)  Some of the crooligans might need to cast The Mist if the opponent has a ranged crew, or there's a Sniper on one of the buildings.  And one will definitely stay near Molly if that's the case as well.  I hold onto high cards, 'cause I'm gonna need all the 10's I get!

Turn two, if I got Protect, then I make the Crooly's pogo them schemes and get in the opponent's face!  Hopefully, there's a clump of enemies.  But that's just the ideal.  A crooligan around enough enemies, or near an important enemy, dies, and Bete appears to shank someone.  I've learned not to be hasty with Killjoy.  Molly makes some more Crooly's!  Damn those models that destroy your hand!  But that's just par usual.

As soon as the opportunity looks right on a Crooly death, or if Bete officially dies, here comes the party penguin, Killjoy!  He now cleaves faces.  If I have breakthrough, Molly makes some Drowned.  Otherwise she make some Punks.  When the corpses pile up, it's time for a Mwahaha.  Is there anything worse than a wall of Mindless Zombies?  This is done with vigor if I'm facing a Rezer.   If it's McMourning, I might just summon Autopsies instead of Punks, which is actually nicer to my hand.

And piss off my opponent until I win with a bunch of undead children...... " one two..."

  13. After spending the last year as an avid Rezer player (with a quick toe dip into Levi Outcast), I just picked up the Pandora crew.  I learned awhile ago that horror duels were a very big deal in the Rezer faction, and my lists have been slowly building for more and more paralyzing components.  'Cause if you can't beat 'em, paralyze 'em.

Now, I find a master out of my usual faction that slows, paralyzes, similar but with different names, and just straight up controls the opponents' activations!  Her base card had me worried at first, especially since her hench had essentially the same back of card, but then I read her upgrades...  I haven't played her yet, but I'm excited to give the box crew and a Teddy a run.

I'm not really into Neverborn as a whole (maybe Lynch), but I have a feeling I'm gonna enjoy Pandora and play variations of her often.  Any tips or tricks that I won't be over-studying on pullmyfinger until game day?

Yes, I'm that passive aggressive, annoying player that messes up your play strategy rather than try to just beat you down.... :D

Molly had Madam Sybelle, a Flesh Construct in reserve as a summon, Yin, Valedictorian, a doxy, and a handful of other models (Croolies, I think?).

Strategy was Squatter's Rights, schemes included Assassinate, Bodyguard, Make Them Suffer, and was just generally a super killy setup.

Molly, Sybelle, Valadictorian, Yin, Nurse, 2 Doxies....

Wouldn't bring Croolies to a Nekima party, silly....  I hoped to only summon BIG stuff (that heal; ie.. Flesh Constructs, maybe an Autopsy when desperate.)  First time playing against your new crew, but I read plenty of pullmyfinger...

It was really good flips and strategy on your part, and poor on mine.  I aint holding a grudge, but there's a rematch in the future!
