  1. I just got my TtB, so I can only speak from my general roleplaying experience - but four players seems ideal. With more players, everyone gets less 'screentime' and very active players can make sure that the more passive players get next to no time. System gets harder to handle and everything gets bogged down, and play between players is sure to leave someone out.

Three players can work, but with just two the game becomes a bit limited; it will always be things nobody knows how to do.

  3. No, I am not on a tight budget, but I am looking to make a single big order, since shipping tends to increase the cost significantly. Hence, I need to save up a little first (I've spent my fun&games budget for this month, also, I've been promising myself to paint up some of the stuff I have before I fill the house with more stuff - this has worked out nicely, I have almost quadrupled my painting speed). I want enough stuff to keep me going for a while, maybe adding a small order with a mini or three after the first few games if I see that I need to tweak.

Part of what I like about games like this, is the visual part... Playing with cardboard counters wouldn't do it for me. If I wanted to proxy, I would at least dig up some decent minis form another game. So, big spending it is. :)

  4. Masterdisaster: No worries, I'm a long time gamer, so I've made my share of dumb questions. For now, I'll puzzle together a wishlist, save up for it and hopefully make an order by Christmas. :) I also I have some other projects I want to finish before getting more models (only ca 200 Zombicide minis to go).

Averageboss: Well... They aren't the most expensive thing either... Maybe I have to pick up some then.

  5. Dirial: Thank you!

Asrian: Thank you for the suggestion. The fact that McMourning is dual faction was what tipped the scales in his favour. It will give me extra flexibility - but I doubt it will make buy fewer models. :)

Nighthater: Don't worry, I wouldn't dream of getting a game without the rules. I got some terrain already, and I am working on a battle board.

Masterdisaster: I already did, that helped me chose the masters - but also left me with even more questions.

Tmod: Ole, faktisk. I'm in Trondheim, and while there might be players here, I don't know them... But I have many gamer friends.

Mudgeblack: I was hoping to skip those... But you might have changed my mind....

  6. Hi all,

I've been looking around for a new game, and after some consideration, Malifaux seems to be right up my ally! I've been looking both at these pages and at the beginners wiki, and I do feel a bit overwhelmed. I live in Norway, and it is hard (so far impossible) to buy anything locally, so I have to order. Shipping here is expensive, so I prefer to make large orders.

Nobody else here plays Malifaux, so I am planning to pick up at least three masters. I've looked, and concluded that I like the style of Sonnia Criid, McMourning and Pandora, so I'll get the boxed sets for those three.

Then I want some other stuff that will go well with them, but without a rulebook, I have a hard time choosing. I don't know what works, what is good, what will get me flexibility and how much I'll need. Any suggestions? I am also open for comments on my master selection (I want them to play well against each other).
