New Criid player here.  Advance apologies for the thread necromancy, but he original thread is pretty small and in general I'm wondering if I'm interpreting this correctly.

Inferno, no range so this is a self cast for Sonnia?  If Sonnia makes it to the end of the turn she pulses for 3 damage.  If she dies with the "Flaming Demise" condition on she pulses for 6 damage?  Did I get that correct?

A good painter can hide a bad sculpt - I'd rather see the sculpts than the skill of some professional painters if I'm going to be buying the minis.

 

Also I get the weird feeling that Wyrd would hire someone who paints like the Forge World team, which is always an exercise in grit and dirt and "how muted can we make this?" which is always an absurdly huge turn-off for me until I see their stuff unpainted.

I really like the fact that Wyrd plastics come with a 3D render that's non painted on the back of the box.  I lets me know exactly what I'm getting.

But for demos I believe you need painted models, especially at the largest recognized gaming convention in the world.  Models for demonstration tables don't have to be painted to a Golden Daemon/Crystal Brush standard, they just have to be painted to a good table standard.  The OP was concerning the demo booth and not the online catalogue.   Playing games with seas of grey makes it hard to distinguish what's what.  You don't have to  pump out 30 GD level minis....just a couple table top class crews.  Not really too much to ask.

Hire a QC person.  A person who knows it's their job to do QC.  Show them what they need to catch and in what stages of production and make them do their job.

Aaron stated in his recent post that they are aware of the Female Multipose scaling issue, but since they are not game models and purely cosmetic, they are not being corrected.

It sucks, but it makes sense.  Making a new metal mold is pricey.  And to make the same exactly mold but like 1-2% smaller would be infuriating.  I guess the Wargames Factory (I believe its them) found the miscommunication between them and Wyrd  to be Wyrd's fault and they won't compensate the new mold.

If this is right I guess we have a little insight on whether to build, sell, or hang onto our FMPM's.  What a bummer for those who wanted to use the models side by side with their Malifaux ones.  Mod what you can I guess!!

As far as the female multipose minis - there were 1600 Kickstarter backers Wyrd needs to satisfy, anyone else need not be so upset because you were never supposed to have one.  Wyrd didn't release the FMPM's on GenCon because they either didn't have any left after the KS, found they were out of scale, or both.  In past instances Wyrd has made reparations (looking at you Ronin/Viks) and they'll probably do the same here too. 

The damage is done, it will take time to fix.  Now that you've got their attention how about you wait for their response.  Gencon ended less than 48 hours ago, have a little patience.  You adults.

So you are looking not only to paint, but also to create the texture.  There are water effect mediums from Vallejo and Woodland Scenics (model train stuff) that you can also mix your paints into.  I've  done some liquid effects by dropping CA (super) glue directly onto the (I also love how they use lipped bases in Malifaux) bases, then before the glue dries dropping in some colored ink.

The Through the Breach multipose female sprue is coming out soon.  Build a Tara and drill through her chest.

Damn!  Thanks for all of the good info.  There are a bunch of models I've been thinking about buying.  One more dip in the pool I guess!

Malifaux is extremely defense orientated.  There are negative flips to damage and armor and one-shot preventers (Hard to Kill) everywhere!!!  Table'ing an opponent isn't that easy and seldomly awards you VP.

Going by the big rulebook some of these henchmen don't indicate they are dual faction, but their upgrade cards name these henchmen specifically and they have both faction stamps on them.  The Kang is specific examples as his card indicates he's TT only, but his upgrade "People's Challenge" indicates it can be used for the Arcanist or Ten Thunder's faction.  So...

Can Kang be used in an Arcanist crew?

Is the upgrade card a misprint?

Or does the addition of People's Challenge to Kang make him eligible to be part of an Arcanist crew?

Just curious because some of the other henchman kind of fall into this, Whiskey Golem and Angry Drunk, Swampfields (none of them are dual factioned) and Hexed Among You.

Well phooey.  They would have been a welcomed addition to my fledgeling Guild army.  They still look rad tho!  My son has liked the idea of Samurais toting vulcans ever since Sucker Punch so I'm going to paint up a box for him.

Looking at the box art the faction ribbon for the Samurai seem to indicate they are dual faction Ten Thunder / Guild.  I don't have any sort of background here and am wondering if this is the case.

Has Wyrd in the past Gen Cons & Black Fridays put up old Nightmare/Limiteds from prior years?  The meat of the question is that I want a NE Tara Box and I'm wondering if it might show up on the online store during Gen Con or if I should try and find it from other sources.  I'm just wondering based off of past years if they've ever done that sort of thing.

Yes, Cut the base.  You'll need to pay attention to if you models are taking stress.....ie be careful as you work.  When you've got everything nice and close you can take a sharp Xacto blade and  work the base where it meets the foot at a 45 degree angle to get the last bits off.  Be careful and good luck!
