ooooh i haven't seen student of conflict yet. Nice call. It might not be hugely viable but i like to do extremes when i start an idea to see where the breaking point is. It gives a good guide. with belles and sybelle as a beat stick it should be fine, Even summoning a full hp punk a turn and thorwing him at a value target then bloat corpsing his remains give viable teeth.

Yeah i figured once i make contact it's going to get more tokens. Good spot on Dismember i missed that one, not sure if i want Mort in near combat after spawning from bloat corpse. I really don't want to run shadows Embrace to heal up Mort, it does seems like its almost go to core on this build but i feel it's a waste of an upgrade slot just to heal 1 damage you are doing to yourself, and costing you in AP by having to poison etc which snowballs as you will definitely want shovel too now just for this chain token heal combo, It's a massive sink for zero active rewards and spamming it about on rezzed troops too for 1 heal a turn is really wasteful of your AP. Undertaker is just far more efficient as you can almost always get 2 tokens out of Mort. I might move Bloat to Nicodem instead so Mort is healthy enough to go in to try proc Dismember. this also allows me to nuke via vulture/bloat which i was playing with anyway. Yes there are other parts to the list not just summoning. I'm still deciding if i'll run Sybelle or nurses. Brusier or lock down? probs sybelle if i want to start with 2 belles to help move up the mob. i wont be sitting about in my side with this everything will be moving via Fresh meat and belle if it had to actively invest in spawn, this is a fully operational death star Do other factions summons have so many downsides? seems like you are punished a fair amount for summoning. Slow/need tokens/ half Hp/Initial AP investment. I know Nicodem does solve alot of these issues. just seeing the lay of the land.

Hmm ok. Thanks for the run down of how they get their summons. Maybe i'm being a bit narrow minded about playing about 1 mechanic, I think i'd like about 3 to 4 markers a turn to make Maniacal Laugh worth while as i'd want to consume some for other actions and i feel mindless Zombies require the numbers + a few heavy's (punks). Here was my play turn 1 that i wanted to run, but this is without actually have someone playing against me so there may be a hole or 2. playing 3 Canines Mort/Nico, Since i feel turn 1 i can burn Cheat cards in hand on the dogs if i get high s and burn a stone on the Nico summon. This will give me 3/4 tokens inc mort/bloat into Summon and 2 Mindless. If i don't get them in hand i'd use 2 tokens from Mort into Maniacal Laugh into undertaker to create 2 card draw and a full Hp summon (hopefully a punk if have a high cheat). giving me another chance at maybe pulling a cheat card for the dogs. i think i can throw a punk pretty far with mindless Zs /vulture and fast (up to 32" charge or 28" walk) so i'm not sure i would take dogs over Autopsies as they give range which seems to be lacking in res if they didnt have the dig up a bone. Maybe i'll rethink the 3 Canines to 1 or 2. Is it wise to burn Soul stones on Ressing? or is that generally stupid? Is there any other card draw that perhap could help with the dogs and cheat cards that i've maybe missed? I thinki want to stick to Nico for now so i dont think Spare Parts would help much. Thanks Clement. I was wandering about if i had the time to mess about, i was considering shovel but it's pricey? (to use fresh meat get the horde moving). maybe i need to start over and add some belles to pull up mort and nico? Thanks for the advice so far

Hello there, I'm very new to malifaux after jumping head long off the good ship 40k after 7th hit. I've ordered some Res Sets as the Punk Zombies and Rotten Belles drew me to the faction. i've been looking at some lists and as probably most newer players do i want to start off with a fairly summon heavy list to choke my opponents with models so 1/2 bad errors wont mean my death. So outside Mort + corpse Bloat there doesn't seem to be much in the way of summoning corpse tokens apart from killing stuff and Canines? Are Canines worth the points to generate tokens? They need a 8+ crow flip to create a token and thats about 9 in 1 success rate, which seems quite low. You can cheat out your hand too i figured but only likely to be holding again 1 high crow. Which you problably want to hold on to to cheat with an actually summon from Nicodem. Considering the amount of uses that you can use corpse tokens for healing/card draw/summoning etc. I'd like more ways to produce them. So are the dogs worth it? any guidance on token gen would be welcomed thanks
