  1. I personally find the cards more helpful, even for factions I do not play so that I can see what my opponents characters are and what they can do without having to bug my opponent.  While the book does have all of the info and may be cheaper, I find being able to set aside the 5-15 cards to be quicker.  I personally am not a fan of having to flip through a book trying to find what I need, even finding it little bulky.

I think Scorpions point being that it comes down to preference is really true.  I for one am happy that there is even an option for both to suit a wider variety of players.  Most games would just give you a book and thats that!

  2. Nogoatsnoglory,

Hans has a massive sniper rifle so using him as someone without a long range rifle and with 2 handguns is going a lot off track.  Maybe very short term, but there are a ton of cool figures made by countless companies that have 2 handguns. I have the female metal version of the gunsmith and shes awesome. The metal male has stupid looking guns so when I get him its conversion time...sigh. It's the lowest of priorities though since I have a few 2 revolver gunslingers from other companies painted and based.

To be fair I'm not terribly attached to keeping him as a gunsmith.  I only use it for fun games, nothing serious, but you are totally right on how ti can be misleading and not for serious use.  The only one I was concerned with was the spiders.  It's more so I wanted the model so I could paint him, but wanted to get some use to justify the purchase.  I understand his limits.

  3. I own both for Arcanists because of a couple old metal models I picked up that I liked better than the plastic versions.  The generic upgrades are nice, but I do have one complaint.

I bought the Collodi starter today and plan on picking up the Neverborn Wave 2 deck so I can play him, but I want a few effigies to use as well.  I don't think the effigies are going to be released before January so my only options are to buy the metal versions or wait 4+ months till the new versions come out.  Ill most likely go for the metal versions, but I still need two cards that I can only get if I buy two faction decks that I only need a single card for.

I know there is the card trading forum, but man what a pain in the :mask for a few cards.

  4. How about this situation.

I have the 1.5 Brass Arachnid, mainly because I purchased it on accident when I first started out.  After I put together my Ramos crew, I liked the Metal version much more than my plastic version.  I don't want to have a model go completely to waste, so I put the plastic BA on a larger base and use it as a Large Arachnid.

So the metal BA is a BA and the plastic BA is a LA.

I also use Hans as a Gunsmith, mainly because I just find the new model so damn cool.

  5. This but Warriors of Chaos and my Hellcannon...the two barrel halves were miscast, bending them so they met up hurt...a lot!

Trickiest Malifaux model so far has been aRamos

What was hard about Ramos out of curiosity?

To me I didn't think the set was too bad.  There were a lot of little pieces, but I seemed to be able to manage the set.  I gave up on putting the BA on the small base so I'm proxying it for a LA.

My models I hated.  Both metal and plastic Electrical Creation.  Seriously Eff.  These.  Models.  The plastic EC has like 12 or 13 parts?  Way too many little detail things that I even gave up on the last few things.  Got lucky and found the metal version at my FLGS.  Awesome.  3 parts? I can do that.  Nope.  Those damn electrical sparks were driving me insane last night.

  6. Maybe we could start a community QC, at least for proofreading.  As Ausplosions mentioned, the chronicles has a few errors.  Its not the end of the world, but if there were maybe a private forum for this community we could go in and do the extra proofreading before being officially released.

By no means would I walk away from this game due to the errors, but why not take the extra step and have the community help push it toward perfection?
