  1. I'm learning my first Malifaux Master (Pandora) and just had a few quick inquiries on her Damage abilities vs things like Armor or any other ability that might lower amount of damage received. I mainly ask due to seeing some battle reports (not always perfect examples of play) that had Pandora hit an enemy that had Armor and yet the damage wasn't reduced, but couldn't find anything offhand in the rulebook that specified the damage from her Inflict or Misery bypassed armor.

Example: Pandora is in range of Model X who has Armor +2. She does Inflict as her action. Model X fails his test, takes 1 damage from Inflict, and then one damage from Misery for being close to Pandora.

    -- Enemy Armor

    1) Model X takes 2 damage total (2 different abilities though, Inflict and Misery). So, does Model X take 0 damage in total due to Armor +2?

    2) Same question as above, but for Fear Given Form. If Pandora has this upgrade, and Model X is in range and fail their duel, do they take the full 3 damage, or only 1 damage due to their Armor +2?

    -- Hard to Kill

    3) If Model X in the example above had 2 wounds left when struck by the first example (Inflict then Misery). Would he take both wounds together, thus lowering him to 1 wound at the end of combat due to Hard to Kill, or would he take them one at a time, leaving him with 0 wounds?

    Thank you for any responses.

  2. I've bought the rulebook and am going to play my first game this week (Pandora crew), but have a question on triggers that I can't seem to find (though I'm sure I'm overlooking it). Namely, I've noticed how on certain abilities it will show a Suit next to a Casting value then show 2 suits in the trigger effect.

I'll use an abridged version of the Dreamer's Daydreaming from the beta as an example: http://wyrd-games.net/community/files/

    (1) Daydreaming (Ca 7 :mask / TN: 14 :mask ): Summon one Daydream...etc etc
:mask  :maskSlumbering:  After succeeding, summon an Alp instead.

The casting cost has a mask in it and the trigger has two masks. So, does that mean I have to use a mask to cast the spell and do I need two masks to set off the trigger. For the trigger, if I do need two masks, other than using a soulstone, how do I achieve two masks? The same goes for ones I've seen in the book that show two different suits next to a trigger such as  :tome  :crow . Do I need both, or just one of either?

As I said, I'm new and trying to learn, but this is about the only thing I've come across that has me baffled. Most of the rest of the rules all seem pretty straightforward.

    Thanks,

    Asrian
