I spent most of 2015 playing with Guild but running a pretty un-competitive Lucius list. So, for 2016 I thought I'd stick with my Guild but run a more competitive crew. So I decided to start with the Ortega's as my main focus with Lady J & co as back up. I started to play about with themes before I settled on the Mexican Day of the Dead festival (Dias de los Muertos).
For those that aren't aware of the festival it celebrates the dead and passed love one. It features awesome elaborate costumes, lots of skulls, painted faces (sugar skull), flowers and just generaly cool decoration. The modern day festival differs to the traditional as it's kind of been commercialised over the years (from what I've gathered). So with that being said, I'll be doing my own version which features a little bit of everything and all a bit better accustom to my painting style and with a hint of Malifaux.
So the aim of the project is to convert up a nice themed crew, whether small details or extensive conversions.
Starting with Perdita:
I decided to go for big flowing hair and to add roses and bows in. A little hard to spot in the green form but should hopefully come out well once painted
And followed by her fellow converted master in crime Lady J:
She is made up from some TTB parts as well as some plasticard and the usual green stuff. She originally started out as a Student of Conflict proxy but the more I worked on her the more she started to look like an Ortega themed Lady J. So that's how she came to be.
And that's it for now, if you're part of A Wyrd Place on Facebook you may have seen some of my WIP's. I've currently got Abuela and Loco on my workbench and I'll be posting up some detailed pics this week as I sort them.
All C&C is welcome and any input into the project will be much appreciated.
Thanks

Saw these pop up on AWP!
Very nice work indeed, great little conversion and plenty of character.
That golemissary is a cracking looking piece. Might have to try pick up that kit myself.
Keep up the good work and hope to see some more in the future

Pathfinder is looking good, liking the panda touch, very neat idea.
I like the fact you've posed the traps differently, I did the same with mine.

My and the guys from Harogate are staying in the Cringleford Travelodge for <£40 between three of us.
This looks like the best option, cheers for the heads up.
Are you all staying on the friday night?

Myself and 2 others from Sanctuary should be heading down for this event.
Can anyone recommend good/cheap accomm? Don't fancy 7 hours of driving in a day

Is anybody going to be travelling up from near either Nottingham or York?
I drive myself but would be up for car pooling with people. Can depart from either of those places or somewhere near by.

Is anyone leaving from or passing through the Midlands that would be happy to car share? Im based 6 miles out of Nottingham just off the M1.
I'm happy to drive or be the passenger and pay fair share of fuel.Would love to head up for this but the cost of lone travel is just a tad too high
Cheers

Hey Greg,
Sounds like a pretty good idea. Would be nice to see the world's Malifaux community come together for an event.
Personally I wouldn't be up to scratch to join a team but it's an event I'd put aside the holiday and money for.

Nice work so far KiTe!
As someone who likes to convert I can really appreciate the effort in that Silurid. Are you going to be converting up another 2 to join him?
Hope to see more soon
