got the gremlin and outcast and ( I presume ) never born starter box models , as well as guild and resurectionists from the other side starter box .

Hi guys , have persuaded my family to play Ttb ( lockdowns good for something ehh?) wondering if you’ve got any advice on a starting adventure? Thinking ideally starting with them on the train as they know almost nothing about the setting ,but open to all ideas 

For me they need to sort that bendy plastic , I don’t like it One bit .

Some crossover stuff would be an excellent idea too , it’s pretty much wryds go to tactic in Malifaux the way they try and tempt you into other factions .... well it works on me and a lot of other people for that game , it will work here too

Could have spell eater and/or asylum keyword but not be guild affiliated , just use their models

Marcus and zip both having 2 factions is also nice as it gives you both more choice going forward

Any plans to put Genbu ( the tortoise) and Pasha ( the March hare) in? Ideally as individual hireable models ( you know it makes sense wryd!) but just as proxy cards would be fine  . 

This is is assuming they are not already and I’m being dozy of course

I suppose it at least prevents people just removing every marker in range every time

Only used her a couple of times ( quite possible I’m using her wrongly) but haven’t been too impressed myself yet , she’s hard to be killed  and has nice ability’s .... but I feel they are just cake icing rather than something i need to get jobs done , and for her cost I’m pretty sure I could get better value

No separate entry’s for genbu and pasha ? 😩 really pleased to see this list though , got a whole load of masterless non theme models now ..... might have to buy some new masters.    Buying Zipp so I can field Johan and midnight stalker (I know I don’t actually need Zipp) seems weird though

Let's hope so , mines all had to be stashed away as am moving house soon , so can't fiddle with it at the moment  

Yeah not a massive fan of the new art myself ( the last book of 2nd edition wasn’t great either imo)

Some masters can summon multiple models as a single action, seem to recall the Dreamer was mentioned  as one , seems like good moves again to me

Good that they seem to take paint ok , really don’t like this material though . (and yes some models are a harder plastic which is much better)  to clarify though , nothing is bent , just ridiculously bendy and squishy . I would be concerned transporting them as my foam cases will push the plastic on The models rather than the plastic pushing the foam they are so bad .

Mines arrived today (UK) not a fan of the squishy plastic some of the models are made from , missing a unit according to the receipt as well ( it’s got a funny little line drawn on in pen next to it ,so maybe coming later?)

models do look very nice  , some of them are so squishy though , seems like any paint would just flake off with all the movement

Theres been quite a lot of Victorian stuff on recently too

Id suggest getting a few crews of different factions , maybe 4?(or 2 and the starter set might be a good option as they are easier models to play) That way you can have 2 30SS games going at once , if you have friends helping to promote it then so much the better , if possible have different crews , the more varied models you can show off the more chance of catching someones eye .

Paint everything , grey plastic doesnt attract attention very well

Good scenery also can really draw peoples attention , try and make sure its thematic as well , playing on 40k scenery for example is all well and good ,once your into the game ,but your trying to shove the steampunk vitorian era down peoples throats so they can properly appreciate it

Some people just wont like the setting/rules , just mourn their loss for them and move on

Make sure people can get an eyeful of the card mechanics , most gamers have never seen it and it draws attention

You might notice a theme of drawing attention , so flashing neon pants and a massive hat could well work too , depends on the audience

I will add that im no expert either , my groups not massive or anything but i think the games attractive and good enough to draw in most people ,once theyve spent a little time checking it out , so draw that attention , speak some sweet words and see how it goes!

Wrath was no fun whatso ever for me and the zombie chihuahua was terrible too . Got some pretty bad memorys putting together Taras crews for a friend of mine too , although i did that in a pub wich probably didnt help

yes i have the viks myself we also have loads of terrain so thats not a problem either

will probably go with Seamus and Lady j , as has been mentioned they seem quite iconic and would probably be a good indictor of how the game plays for new folk , also a few spare rotten belles knocking about for my Nico crew to summon wouldnt hurt

thanks for the advice theres a few of us that already have a crew or 2 (or in my case 6 ) and a few more that are planning on getting one , so with regards to the crews we just thought we would get 2 so people can try the game out rather than cover all factions . Are there 2 that stand out from your list ?

My local club has decided to take up Malifaux , any suggestions on starter supplies? Aside from rulebook and a few decks of cards of course

For example is the schemes and strategy deck a worthwhile purchase? also looking for a couple of crews the club can buy for newcomers that are

1. easy to put together paint

2.sturdy

3. good for starting players

any suggestions welcome

this had me a bit confused too

I noticed Nicodem has a Ca 6 (Crows) ability and the trigger needs 2 crows, why is the ability not just a Ca 6 ability with a 1 crow trigger? theres no second trigger to choose so it seems pointless? i assume im missing something
