Vivid nightmares was added to the card as an errata because lucid dreams was too good without some form of control added to it. So it is intended to reduce the power of lucid dreams

Lucid dreams will still improve your deck composition throughout the game, but now at a much lower level than was possible before.

So the main use of Vivid nightmares is to stop your opponent quitting in disgust because you have a deck that only contains severe cards...

    Gotcha, that makes sense. Thanks

Each model may only use its misery ability once per activation. Each model can only be affected by 1 aura of the same name at a time.

So if you are surrounded by 3 sorrows, and you somehow manage to make a model gain stunned twice you can get them to take misery twice. If it gains stunned 4 times you get to make it take misery 3 times.

So if an enemy is in BTB with an Aversion (that hasn't activated) and gains the stunned condition from Pandora... the misery kicks in on the Aversion's activation? Just curious with the timing.

Side note, misery seems only mildly useful.

  3. I don't quite get how misery works.

It reads Once per activation after an enemy model gains stunned (or whatever condition) THIS model can have it suffer a damage. Is the once per activation the Aversion, or the enemy?

So an Aversion (which cannot generate the stunned condition) would have to rely on another friendly model to cause an enemy to gain the stunned condition, then wait until it's activation to cause that damage?  I don't get the timing.

Also, an enemy model can only suffer a max of 1 damage when surrounded by models that have misery, is that correct?

  4. Dumb question - does armor +1 basically negate all damage from misery?

Example, if an enemy has armor +1 and is surrounded by 3 Sorrows and gains stunned... Each Sorrow's misery causes 1 damage, which would be negated each time since you're resolving one at a time. Is that correct?

  5. Question regarding possible number of attacks in a round with a Rabble Riser.

Let's say a RR charges into base contact (or within 1") with 2 enemies. Is there really a possibility for 6 attacks between the 2 enemies?

Sword attack #1 (1), gets the quick reflexes on the other model (2), flurry sword attack on original (3), gets quick reflexes again on the other (4), sword attack #2 on original (5), quick reflexes on the other (6).

    Am I reading that correct?

If an upgrade has Special(whatever) on it, it pretty much means that the upgrades only come into play due to someone's special rules.  In this case, the Lecture upgrades are attached by Von Schtook's Peer Review action.

    The setup is pretty much:

    - Von Schtook takes the Peer Review action to put the Academic Zeal upgrade on a Transmortis model.  That model kills someone, discards the upgrade, summons a new minion and attaches the New Student upgrade to the summoned model (inflicting Slow, and also 2 irreducible damage if Von Schtook is out of :aura6.)

You end up being limited by the the number of Peer Review upgrades (limits how many summons you can prepped for) and limited by the number of summoned models you can have in play (the New Student upgrades).

Awesome, thank you for explaining that!

  7. I have a question about the Undergraduate's abilities "by your side" and "made to kill", specifically if they can be used together.

MTK states that after the model is placed it may take a /// action after resolving the current action, and BYS places the undergraduate but is not an action - so I assume that these abilities CAN'T be used together. Is that correct?

If that's the case, am I relying on the enemy to place the undergraduate?

  8. Hi there, I'm looking for general tips or strategies to help deal with Von Schill and his cronies.

I played Dreamer and lost Chompy and Carver in short order... guns and rockets everywhere. Armor and extra healing everywhere. WP 7 and DF 6 on multiple models. Ruthless on multiple models. Rocket boots and extra armor upgrades... GROSS.

I had to get up close and personal for a lot of my models, or at least had to keep moving forward for the strat and schemes ....which didn't work out very well.

My best range was 8" I think.
