A few friends and I have recently manifested our interest in Malifaux by buying and assembling some of the crew box sets. Now we're ready to play. I set up a 40SS game by myself last night (The Battle for Painter's Tape River on Kitchen Mesa) and did a dry run through a couple of turns based on my understanding of the rules (which I've read three times), information I picked up poking around the internet, and watching people play at Game Kastle in Santa Clara. I'm sure I am doing at least a dozen things incorrectly, but I feel that I have a sufficient grasp on the core mechanics to start teaching my friends.
My question is this: where should I start? I don't want to reinvent the wheel, so I'm asking you, the community, where you start when demoing and teaching. My instinct is to go through a couple of duels (opposed, simple, &c.), as this is what will be happening most, then build with turn structure, movement, cover, and soulstones. If there is somewhere else that I should be focusing initially, please let me know. Also, if there are any resources that cover this topic, I'd be super thrilled to know where those are.
Thanks in advance!
