  1. TLOS works fine in games that don't use dynamic posing, I guess the guys behind Malifaux didn't want to be lumbered with boring poses for the sake of TLOS, so came up with the height system and dynamic models.

It works fine in Malifaux, other systems could probably take their lead in this :D

TLOS is best in WWII games or other historical systems, where you wouldn't have people surfing about on 6 foot long coffins etc.

  2. Thats Wayland for you, they are just terrible (3-9 days to despatch? How can a mail order be so slow?) until you call them up. Once you do call them they are absolutely fantastic. I've ordered from them 3 times and every single time I had to call them after a week to give them a kick up the backside.

Now I go to Element Games, same or next day dispatch and only 1 day delivery is how good mail order works :)

Element is great, but no faster than anyone else when it comes to shipping out of stock items.

That said, my last element order was due to ship the day i received it lol, placed it about 30 mins before the last post, they are really good. And they didn't remove their loyalty bonus either, unlike some :D

  3. Oh and I am so not looking forward to assembling that totem.

I feel your pain, mine gave up the ghost while I was clipping a different part of the sprue sadly, now he is a little shorter than he should be lol.

The Strap on mine is on his left side waist, pretty much where your belt would be.on his left leg around his thigh he has a little strap moulded on, a little way up from there, perhaps 1 cm, is where I have my strap attached. Attached it reaches up to his left arm at the shoulder.

  4. That's a really good upgrade, given that most effects which creat smoke are just soft cover(not even dense).

Still, so long as bases are touching, you should have LOS.

Cheers. Only played one game so far and although I didn't make many mistakes, it can be hard to learn a new system, especially with the rules of a dozen others floating about in my crowded mind!

Obv I will miss things till I get more time in the game.

  5. One of my first purchases too.

Still trying to get my head around her Cherubs (1) interactions = (0) interactions.. I suspect the "only one (0) interact action per turn", still applies?

Which would explain her Upgrade, which lets her have 2 (0) actions per turn.

  6. pick a target.

models within 3" of the target, but not the target itself must pass a duel or be pushed.

then push this model (misakai) up to 5" towards the target.

So, target of the spell will not be pushed.

Models within 3" of the target are pushed up to 4" away from the target model. (you can always cheat fate, but I don't see how you can choose to lose by default here)

Then after resolving all the effects, push misakai towards the target.

All I can go off here is intent, I would assume that if Misakai is caught within 3" of the target, she won't be pushed till the final step.

Even if she was, she would be pushed away 4", then move back towards the target 5".

Anyway, the target of Downburst won't move at all.

All within 3" must move 4" away from the target if they fail the duel.

Misakai then moves up to 5" towards the target, but only if she succeeds in the trigger.

There is no case of Misakai being pushed "towards herself". Not sure where that came from? If for some reason she targets herself, then she won't move at step one. She couldn't move due to the trigger as it requires her to move towards the target (herself) which isn't possible :D

  7. Well, on track so far.

Finding it hard to work out what belongs to Me2 on this site, for some odd reason things like Pandora and the Viks are missing from here.

Been browsing element games, but you end up looking for a little ME2 sticker on a thumbnail, so not ideal lol.

    so far I have

    rules

    2 fate decks

    Sonnia Criids crew

    Lady J's crew

    Lilith's crew

    Vik's crew

    Misakai's crew

    Oiran and Beckoners.

Will be looking at Seamus, Pandora and Rasputina and keeping an eye on new stuff come March or so, obviously will need some faction decks for upgrades if nothing else.

Managed to eventually get the last set assembled, despite being left with a spare thing that looks like a small fan and a pair of Nunchuks. Never did find any assembly instructions lol.

Seem to be getting a grasp of the rules too, roll on March when I can buy some more stuff.

  8. I can't seem to find this in the rulebook, but I assumed it would state how many Masters and Henchmen a crew can have.

If it does, can someone point me to that page please.

I would imagine one of each, but damned if I can find that written somewhere.

Or at least 0-1 Master depending on game size, henchmen seem fair game.

  9. I'm Steve. Total noob too :)

Play plenty of other games aswell, but new to Malifaux.

So far I have the mini rules, a Gold and Purple card deck and the following ME2 releases.

    Lady Justice Crew

    Vicks Crew

    Sonia Criid Crew

    Liliths Crew

Have some Beckoners, Oiran and the Ten Thunder box in the mail, hopefully I ought to have them tomorrow.

Will be buying the big book mainly for the fluff asap, however making do with what I have till late March or so as I am saving up for a console.

Will quite likely buy most crew boxes, even the ones that don't appeal visually will at least offer up diverse playstyles and match-ups etc, will keep an eye on the expansions too, will be nice to have the ME2 expansion once I have a faction suited to it.

I guess once I have my console, faction card decks for the factions I own will be needed, will only need 4 at the time.

Any news on Malifaux streets and buildings? Would really like them, but they seem to be none existant these days.

  10. Thanks, I will get the hang of this game eventually.

But if it was just like my other games, it wouldn't be much use would it :D

With "costing me one vp" I mean't if they remove it (rather than me) I won't gain a VP. Not that I would lose 1 from my total.

    Thanks again.

Will be able to test it out on the tabletop once I receive my second card deck.

  11. Can someone confirm for me that Lilith's Tangle Shadows is a "horror duel"?

Just making sure I understand the horror duel mechanism.

Cursed Object on page 86 is making my head spin too.

Any of my non-Peon models within 1" of a non-peon enemy model can spend 1 activation point to give the enemy Cursed Object.

cursed object; This model can... Which model? My model who is trying to give the cursed object, or the enemy model I gave it to by spending 1AP? I can't work out if this is a test for the opponent to remove the curse, or for me to pass it on to him.

If it is the enemy model who can remove the condition from himself (and it isn't much of a condition as it does nothing) then that would seem to clash with the final paragraph which says "this crew can remove...." Which begs the question which crew?

Would be easy to understand if they used terms like "attacking model, defending model". As it is, I am confused :D

---------- Post added at 01:17 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:08 PM ----------

I think I worked it out.

All my none Peons can give any of their none peons the curse for 1 ap (1 ap for each curse i try to hand out)

The enemy can attempt to remove the condition from himself with a wk action, costing me 1 vp.

I can freely remove the condition to gain 1 VP.

I hope that is it lol.
