Thanks for the explanations. That's a nice in depth post Dracomax, it cleared up a lot of things. I definitely appreciate how frustration metal models can be from 40k and I'm sure it's even worse when they have such small pieces. I think I may pick up the rules and cards first and proxy some some units in friendly games until I decide what I want to run. Hopefully that'll also put me closer to the release of the plastic models when I Figure it out. Thanks again guys!

Thanks for the responses, but being totally new to the game, I'm not exactly clear on some of the things you mentioned. For instance, I don't know what all has been revised for 2nd edition and what will be in the future. As I understand, the core rules are out, so I assume that the betas you were mentioning are updates to existing units. So where/when can I find the arsenal box that you mentioned (because that has the updated cards, right?), and which units or factions do they cover? And one last question which is more of what my original post was asking: Which one do you think is a better choice in terms of gameplay difficulty for a beginner.

Hi everybody, I'm sure this comes up a lot, but I'm just getting into Malifaux and I was looking for some advice on picking my starter box. I was checking out some different factions the other day and the ones that caught my interest were Von Schill's Freikorps and Ramos. So to you more experienced players, which one is a better place to start in terms of getting the hang of playing? And if you have other suggestions on easy/fun starter crews, fell free to mention those too. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
