  1. Yep as Myyra said.  Very good as a ranged alpha strike and once people have it, it makes them spread out or try and go in for the kill and I then use Machine Puppet to clear them out.

I do also try to include hunters as and when, and 'sometimes' watchers.  Really depends on SnS, but my template is usually the above. If you are looking for a really cheap df boost for power loop and another scheme runner.... don't forget the Brutal Effigy is a construct as  well.  Its also a bit tougher than a watcher.  Ok you are probably not going to get too much use out of 'fear not the sword' but...

  2. Metal Gamin is a must for me - it brings so much card efficiency for Hoffman, it allows me to spend stones on suits instead when needed.  First thing on my list, possibly only after the mobile toolkit.  The rest of what I take with Hoff varies quite a bit.  Don't really use Joss, Hank or R.Golem, as I lllooooovvvveee soulstone miners to operate outside the hoff ball.

Saying that, Ryle and the B.Emmisary have been real staples. Ryle with double positive flips, Sh 6 and having the double rams for a turn is pure poetry in motion against other ball crews... ;)

  3. I've run Executioner mostly with McCabe, and little bit with Lucius for 'What lackeys are for' shenanigans.  Must say 'Exey' hits a niche against people who are dependent on defensive triggers (riders, gremlins, Collette) so he usually is number one on my crew list when facing Arcanists and Gremilins.

Never thought about taking Francisco with him through.... Quite a nice double act but I guess most things are when Franc is part of the partnership ;)

  4. Personally her denial aspects are what I love. Walls, disrupting magic and then badge of office can really help her defensibe game. Never really explored counter spell, mainly as I would need another model which can take so e damage to hold disrupt magic.

One of the main things I want to do this year is play her in the hunter theme to really help get my head around denying vps whilst still scoring more than them, mainly due to ahunch that orderly's unlock quite a bit of scheming for her

  5. Join us on the dark side #pandita

personally I always reach for Hoffman. Most of his game plan is to camp on their half of the board and with soulstone miners to hand, they can come on end of turn one and place straight away turn 2 majority of the time with good placing. He can then also set up two watchers to then ping off the hoffball as well. If you do ok, only one of these is going to get taken out so that's 3 stakes on turn two, which should at least make it hard for oppo to score till turn 3 at the very least. I then would think of taking ryle and/or emissary to then gun down everyone else ;)

welcome to the guild mr crystal palace!

Just to say thanks to all who attended.  We hope you all enjoyed yourselves and that it was a bit different for a ranked event.  Some of this I simply forgot to say (none flipped schemes), stuff we hinted but were not as explicit as we could be (soft tie-breaks, relaxed timings) but there was quite a bit of stuff which we didn't think of so glad for all feedback (thanks Ben!).  All good stuff so next time we have a singles event we can be as clear as we can about it all.

Again, thanks for coming along, and hope to see as many of you as we can when we next have an event.

  7. Hi Rancour,

There is indeed, if you want a space then please send your money over to our paypal account.  If you can let me know your real name as well then we can double check its you when the money comes in.

Matt & Luke - I believe you have reached a gentleman's agreement over Twitter where Luke pays Matt, so if I have this correct (?) then that's fine by us.

Apologies for the slow responses people, a bit busy at work this week (my colleagues seem to have decided they all want to be the drummer in 'Spinal Tap'...)

We also have the Thingster joining us.  Huzzah!
