  1. Yeah in recon (which I do use her quite a bit, even when the scheme pool probably suits McCabe better) I usually will run her very burny, with 2 Handlers, 3 Stalkers, Mofo Child and then tailor as needed.  I LOVE disrupted magic and between that and the flame walls, you can divide and conquer more than you can think.  Sonnia is likely to die end of Turn 3, but if you have swung model advantage your way and on your 2nd strategy point, usually its an ok trade.

Other way I use her (and truth be told its probably a better build with McMourning) is to take Abuela, Queeg and Heartbane as a core, and then usually Franc.  Between all of the out of activation pushes/places, you can usually dominate two quarters as one 'ball', and then use the movement to allow someone to hit and then get pulled back.

She (how I usually build her) is particularly great against ressers due to their usual high WP and low DF for blasting, and the walls gum up their movement.  Also negatives to Ca can send them in fits.  Not very good against people who can focus and bring her down with high damage output before I can heal with her sword, so usually stay clear of her against TT and Outcasts.

  2. Personal Fav's is Dashel with two Pathfinders.  Make a nice flank which the enemy cannot ignore.  Really depends on the terrain though (they need a bit of a bunker) due to the investment of 21ss.

I have been meaning to take him with the Emissary as it adds such diversity to his game (ie allowing melee to get going, and more exploitation of 'what lackeys are for'), but just haven't got round to it.

  3. Isn't this all just a subtle ruse to give Conrad a badge on the rankings site ;)

As someone who I think most people would agree plays for lols rather than (competitive) goals.... And has only had 1 'bad' game in the tournaments I have been lucky enough to attend...

I hate soft scoring as in judging my opponent.  But incentivising/reminding people what helps make your opponent feel at ease and allows them to have fun.... all in.  This is why at Tanefaux events so far (including our upcoming Double or Bust:II plug! plug! plug!) we have lets say a rather light hearted approach to tie breakers.  We like people to play hard whilst being gentlefolk.  Queensbury rules as you will.

Saying that, this is probably one of the few examples of where 'group think' is working already.  And if some one is really deaf, I would hate to see anything which would undermine TO discretion.  Its there event and they should choose to deal with it in any way they choose.

  4. Hi All!

Once again we are holding our doubles tournament here in lovely Leytonstone, because in all honesty we all had such a good time previously we wanted to do it again!  As anyone who attend last year will tell you, this is as relaxed as a tournament as you are likely to get, and because (if you have never plaid doubles) the combo's you and your opponents can unlock can be frankly outrageous, but also quite hilarious.

Please find attached the Rules Pack for the event.  We would really like to highlight the tiebreaker points system as there is quite a bit you can do before you even attend the event  (ooooohhhhhhhhh!!!).

We have spaces for 12 teams of two players and if you would like a ticket, please send £30 for your team to twgc_treasurer@tanelornwgc.org – alongside the other details listed in the pack.  First come, first served! :)

Of course if you have any queries then feel free to post here or to message me on the forums.  All of us at Tanelorn look forward to seeing you then!
