I apologize for all my giddyness and excitement... now its time to start painting.

1 Oiran - needs to be primed, painted, based

1 Ten Thunder Archer - needs priming, basing , and painting

1 Torakage - needs assembling and everything

I'm pretty far behind my former rugby team is playing in the state championship right now so its hard to focus. haha

I need to paint up some models as well as base them to keep up with the league I am in... it's gonna seem like an all day adventure.

So..... I lied and I apologize, however I figure the title would at least give the viewer a gander into this battle report. Again I apologize because this battle report is quite a small, but hey short, sweet, and too the point right? The real reason I am doing this battle report is because there is an achievement in an ongoing league that I am in, in which I needed to post a battle report with photos so here it is. (You're welcome BruglyOther)

Strategy: Squatter's Rights

Another stipulation to the league was that we are starting off with a 2ft x 2ft playing field and that we play a 10 stone game. I had chosen Yamaziko (Leader) and Otototototototo, while my opponent chose Vic B and Taelor. To switch things up we decided to play using each other's crew (Another Achievement)

As the game progressed we ultimately aimed for the same markers so it was going to be quite the upcoming battle. Yamaziko was able to strike first damaging Vic B a bit, and Taelor doing the same to Otototototototo. However ultimately Vic B cast her 0 Lonely path and won the attack flip and pulled a red joker to pretty much kill Yamaziko in one strike. Ototototototo was below 6 wounds and was now enrage which just made him an even more ridiculous beat stick then he already was and was able to flurry Taelor and smack the crap out of her.

In the end, my opponent ended up winning because he had won initiative flip and barreled down on Vic B. The only for her to survive the onslaught was for Ototototototo to flip a Black joker either during the Attack or Damage flip. That was not the case and he was able to claim another victim. Because of This I was now tabled he was able to trot merrily around the board completing the strategy along with his schemes that he had chosen which I do not remember what he picked but he ended up winning.

Overall I am hoping this Battle Report will give you a laugh. And if you have any thoughts comments or concerns it would be greatly appreciated, and hey if you want to throw in a story/narrative to go with the pics that would make this Battle Report even more humorous in my opinion. Enjoy!

The game is good,.. for me, painting is better. But the people here on the forum are the best part of it all. 99% of the people here are really cool. There's a few hold outs,.. I won't name any names,.. but you'll pick them out on your own soon enough.

Yeah I have never done anything with minis before, and i have found that even though I have never painted them before I overall do like that part of the hobby/addiction/past-time/etc. As for people on here I have noticed what you have meant but overall everybody is quite friendly.

Even though I already own a Marcus crew box, I do like the new models that they created for the entire crew. (Minus Cerberus - looks too much like a bear/cat/dog in my opinion) I will probably pick the box up when it does come out and any models that I have extra such as the old Marcus, Myranda, and possibly the Razorspine I will attempt to convert them into different models such as the dawn serpent for the Razorspine.

No you did not. The Dreamer and crew are currently being under revision due to Malifaux going from 1.5 edition to 2.0 edition. The Dreamer is in Beta right now where you can download his beta stats and upgrades and you can play test him all you want. just check back each week as to his stats being changed, adjusted, or rewritten.

I'm currently painting up some Archers as well and I may just need to use your idea. Thanks for the post and wonderful ideas!

I picked up Misaki and crew plus the Ten Thunder Archers for my escalation league I'm taking part in.

I have noticed in the Beta playtesting that using the Rogue Necromancy with Marcus is an interesting combo because it gives Marcus a model that has a ranged attack since normally his crew is melee heavy. However that is more mixing factions and not using different models within the faction. So again with Marcus I would use someone like December Acolyte. Reason being is that it has a trigger to bring enemy models closer as well as make models within a certain bubble lose armor and hard to wound. This would allow Marcus' beat sticks such as Cojo or Cerberus to beat the crap out of the enemy much easier.

Has Jakob Lynch been released as a boxed set for 2nd edition yet? I saw it listed as 2e in the shop but I could swear that was the same one someone showed me for 1e.

Since it was already in plastic form, I highly doubt they will re-release it again in plastic again. Maybe sometime later on in life as an alternate sculpt but just not now.

1) Each starter crew (Master and a few models) will cost you roughly $35-$45 depending on the box set you get. However if you want to get more models then of course it will cost you more.

2) Zoraida and Jack Daw are both metal models however Wyrd is converting to plastic so they will eventually be in plastic as well. Jakob Lynch and his crew box are entirely made of plastic

3)In my opinion right now I would have to say Jack Daw. Reason being is because he is still under the Beta rules. That means he will be fluctuating weak, below average, average, above average and over-powered. Come January he should be settled and be on par with the rest of the masters

4) Yes and no Zoraida metal has been released for some time as to her plastic will not be released for a while. Jakob Lynch began in plastic, so he is already out the only thing you would need for him (and Zoraida in that matter) is the stat cards Jakob Lynch's stat cards will be in a Ten Thunder Arsenal deck, while Zoraida's are in the Neverborn deck. Jack Daw still being in Beta testing does not have "official cards" to use yet. Jack Daw has a metal version released however that was before he was a master therefore most of his crew is "non-existent" meaning you will have to wait until they come out in stores within the next 6+ months or so.

5) If I had to chose, I would either chose either Zoraida or Jakob Lynch because they have already been released and you would be able to obtain the physical models of them. Also they are both apart of the Neverborn faction, which in time if you expand to both of this crews you can use each models for each master.

Well, Justin's article was interesting, I can't wait to see the stats. I'm a little disappointed Wong got the promotion, I was expecting it to go to Burt with Wong becoming a Henchman.

In a way it kinda made sense. The Gremlins already had a shooter in Ophelia so Burt was out but never had a casting master yet. So ideally it was gonna be Wong from the early beginnings in my opinion.

Considering the fluff for Gremlins, I would be pretty surprised to see another female Gremlin character. Aren't females heavily outnumbered by males, and kept busy having/taking care of litters? Escaping this fate was one of the things that made Ophelia exceptional.!

In one of the blog's (Justin's I believe) he said that Mah Tucket's crew is going to be primarily an all female crew. Therefore it can be implied that her henchman will be a female, along with her enforcers, minions, etc. So with that being said since there is only one female Gremlin I can currently think of (Ophelia LaCroix) we will be getting quite the few female gremlins coming to play finally.

I used a reaper model for Cojo. The model was a bionic gorilla of sorts so it kinda worked being a proxy since they were both gorillas. I also just glued a die onto a base and have been using that for Von Schill's Steam Trunk.

Brewmaster's Avatar will be the Avatar of Sobriety. He will dish out coffee instead of brew and will give you fast instead of poison.

That or the Avatar of Drunkardness. Similar to drunken Kung Fu but instead everything is topst turvy DF becomes WP and vice versa simlar to walk and charge and so on...
