  1. Thanks for the compliments. It's my goal to make them look as real as I can, glad to know I'm not failing. Some of those mold lines are bugging me but not enough to repaint. I wish I would have sanded down the illuminated's spike to more of a point too. I didn't even think of red being the Guild's color. Too far into the crew to change it now.
  2. Just finished a beckoner: ---------- Post added at 03:31 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:25 PM ---------- I've fixed that bit on the thigh since taking the picture.
  3. Really excellent work. This all makes me want to practice harder. Thanks for sharing.
  4. ---------- Post added at 06:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:02 PM ---------- I know he can't run with the Illuminated but he's still a part of the crew. Sue:
  5. I'll probably come by. What's happening Saturday?
  6. I just saw this post. Are you guys going to have some regular games going?
  7. Thanks for the replies. Just to be perfectly clear before I spend money: even though the product is called "Ghost Town Bases" it is actually base inserts?
  8. I'm thinking of using some of the translucent colored bases for my next crew and am wondering which if Wyrd's bases will work with them. Are the ghost town bases full bases or inserts you can put in the translucent bases?
  9. Upon further investigation, looks quite good. i can aporeciate keeping the base muted. Keep up the good work.
  10. Looks decent. Very smooth blending. Some detail in the base would improve it, I think. For example, you could paint the plant green. Is that paint on the red base or a refracted image of the base insert?
  11. Awesome stuff. I may try to emulate some of your techniques.
  12. Hmm... Thinking about it, adding the skeleton at Yan's feet would be good way to work some purple in without forcing it. Thanks for the idea.
  13. Thanks. I wanted to be as realistic as I could and avoid being too matchy-matchy. My thinking was that the Ashigaru and Izamu were the undead army with purple regimental colors and Yan was the detatched, manipulating necromancer. The gray fabric on Yan and the Porter is treated with the same pale purple highlighting I did on the gray on the others. Other than the brown, all the other colors on Yan are on the skeletons; his hair is the same paint as the bones as is the Porter's fur dry brushing. I plan to do Chiaki quite colorful in green and pink, I put the green bracelet on Yan to pick up on that. I will think about maybe painting the black bracelet purple but its my intention to have the "troops" purple and the the "command" more distinct. Red will be an element on all the ancestors.
