  1. The crew you have here looks like a good start. With so many canine remains however, I would recommend taking Sebastian. Sebastian is a pretty good beat stick model for only 6SS and he synergizes with your canine remains. Rafkin makes Guild Autopsies and Mindless zombies (guild autopsies are just significant zombies that can get objectives, but they aren't good) and has a weak poisonous blast. Although Rafkin works with Mcmourning, he is more of a support model and costs 7SS (which is kind of alot). Sebastian on the other hand, can heal, produce canine remains, has awesome melee ability, and still can collect body parts for Mcmourning all for 6SS. However, these are my opinions, and you still would do fine with Rafkin instead of Sebastian.
  2. Both goods points. I do like the idea of using Shikome instead of Datsue-ba and the dog, giving me 1SS left and being able to take Grave spirit and Nicodem as a second master for the tourney. However, Datsue-ba has better survivability than shikome (can heal herself) and more utility for the crew, albeit less damage output. Having Nicodem however will give me blasts to deal with a possible Pandora. I do like drowned, however if playing against a player that is not taking a master like Pandora, I like to have extra soldiers like Ashigaru. Ashigaru never do a lot of damage for me in games, but they are amazing at tying up big beatsticks. My ashigaru usually either punts enemies away with Wall of Steel, or they tie up things like the Rail Golem and laugh when the Rail Golem does weak damage (1 dg against Ashigaru which I like to keep in defensive stance). They are also fast, can move and then charge (Lunge) and help in the defense of Yan Lo. However, if Pandora does end up hitting the field, Drowned will be better to take so it is a big toss-up for me there. I also agree with you about taking chi in Path of Ash from the beginning. Yan Lo is actually very squishy to start, so Regeneration 1 and +2 Defense is awesome. I have come to find the Path of Spirit to not be great, except for the first upgrade (+1 to wk/ch).
  3. You should originally buy: Box Set 2 packs of Seishin (so you have 5 total) Lost Love Totem Gaki for chance summons Shikome With that list, you will have enough to play her and have options for summoning. Later you can add whatever spirits you like, or beatsticks like Izamu or Dead Rider, which you can turn into spirits with Lost Love. I recommend Night Terrors and Insidious Madnesses for their high movement and effects. Checkout the Pull My Finger wiki on Her and scroll to the What to buy section, that will help as well.
  4. Hey Everyone, So there is a tourney coming up and it will be the first time I will test Yan Lo in a more competitive environment. There will be a fixed faction 40SS hiring pool, and the games will consist of three rounds (40SS, 30SS, 20SS) with random strategies. From what I know about my meta is that there are primarily Neverborn, Arcanist, and Outcast players with a large assortment of masters. I have built here a 40SS hiring pool that I think is versatile enough to deal with most threats (Pandora may be the only challenge) and provide me with enough options for specific strategies/schemes and different load-outs that provide for versatile model selection in each game. Let me know what you guys think of it, as it was hard to figure out what models to fit in when I had around 8SS left. 40SS Hiring Pool: Yan Lo (5SS Cache) Soul Porter (2) - movement for Izamu and emergency heals Chiaki (5) - extra movement for undead, minor heals, effects removal, bonus +dg for Weight of the Ages, Chi and Relic absorption, undead characteristic removal. Izamu (10)- beat stick, tank Ashigaru x2 (8) - minor damage, objective camper, defensive barrier, damage soak Datsue-Ba (7) - gaki/onryo summons, spirit support, high maneuverability, Denial of Sanzu, ignore armor, 2'' AOE. Night Terrors x2 (6) - objective cappers, range reduction on enemy guns Canine Remains (2) - chi/gaki/onryo/corpse counter sacrifice, filler I am pretty sure I will be going with this list, but I want to hear what you guys have to say about it. I know that the 1 canine remains is somewhat of a poor choice, but it is filler and may prove to be useful in the lower points games when I want to get a gaki and an extra chi. Also, I could take Drowned to deal with Pandora, however that would require taking out Datsue-ba (removing my only anti-armor and source of possibly summoning other anti-armor with Onryos) or the Night Terrors (which I would want for objective grabbing strategies). Thanks for any advice!
  5. Turn 3 in game against Viks, Izamu one shot gunVik with a RJ (Severe + Moderate) for 10 damage (can't reduce enough damage with SS except with RJ). Turn 4 I drew the RJ again and did the exact same thing to swordVik. All the while my Ashigaru were punting Taelor away with Wall of Steel. Epic.
