  1. Just bought two tickets but didn't see anywhere to enter names.  They're for myself (Michael 'Jonah' Rees) and Christopher Williams .  They were on an order with a Marcus core box and Altered Beasts if that helps.

    Thanks

Mike. Can you change Liam James to Liam Coupland . The list was from our club Facebook group and I don't use my surname on FB. Thanks

Yeah, sorry dude I just copy and pasted and didn't think of the teachers not using their real names clause! Liam James should be Liam Coupland please Mike.

  4. A sensible decision!

If I'm reading the rulespack correctly (and I may not be, I am tired!) each player doesn't have to play the same faction throughout the tournament so long as there's five different factions represented in each round right?  So I could play Ressers one round then Neverborn the next while another team member could play Guild then take over the Resser mantle for the next round?

  5. Those Are Not Ours is fantastic. Being able to get a card and a SS for a nearly dead model can be awesome and it can also be used tactically to deny enemy models certain strats and schemes. I like using the Emissary with McMourning so I can turn a shitty Mindless Zombie into a card and SS every turn (after the first)!

  6. Hi guys, I have some various bits and pieces for sale and one item (the elusive PW Teddy) for trade. Prices include UK postage (I will post elsewhere but at buyers expese) and models come with bases and cards (no cards for first edition stuff, no PW base for Teddy though I can provide a standard 30mm).

Puppet Wars Teddy (brand new) - trade for Alt Baboros or Miss Ery

Sorrow (brand new on sprue) - £5
Guild Rifleman (brand new on sprue) - £5
Metal Nurses (brand new) - £5 each
Metal Sebastian (brand new) - £6
Metal Flesh Construct (brand new) - £8
Nekima (built and sprayed black) - £10

Would this be a good tourney for a rookie?? Been playing for a year or so but never played in a tournament - thoughts??

I think you'd be fine. Everybody was really friendly last year.

Hopefully I can make this again though it clashes with Six Nations again this year goddammit!

This then comes down to rules as written as opposed to intended. I clearly think the intention would be to allow 2 mindless zombies.

Because the original wording of the spell stated markers (plural) because 2 markers are in fact put down, this is being used as the reason NOT to give two zombies. Now, it may well be the intention of the game developers to to only allow the one MZ, but I feel for the cost of s 7 cards and the upgrade that the intention is to allow one MZ for each casting of Shards.

Problem is that we are consistently told not to derive intention from rules and only to play them as written. I would argue that the intention of the FAQ covering 30mm models standing on scheme markers is applicable to all markers and Ht is irrelevant but RaW suggests otherwise to rehash the argument from earlier in the thread.

A 7 of any card to put up shards is strong already and putting up two of them is extremely powerful when it's so easy to cast (even Sonnia needs a 6, a 9 and a little helper to get two up!) as you can completely cut the board off. The intention as regards the MZ is not clear and can be interpreted in a number of ways as highlighted in this thread. I'd say that you only get one but I can definitely see the case for getting two as well so it certainly needs clarification .

  9. I love the Emissary with McMourning but he's the only Master I've run him with. His Conflux is pretty good though Ive rarely used it. However being able to close off parts of the board with shards to protect McMourning going off on a killing spree is great and the free MZ that Seb can Destroy to turn inot a card and SS is really strong. Plus the Emissary itself has min 3 damage and tends to attract a lot of attention which means that your opponents models are focusing elsewhere. Not a lot of that is much use with Reva but it's a decent beater and a good distraction.

  10. As a Resser player I will play it that anybody standing on corpse markers blocks LoS because personally I think it's ridiculous rules lawyering to claim otherwise.  I do hope (not with a lot of optimism it must be said) that it is clarified sooner rather than later though because it's going to be a key issue with Reva.

  11. I would say that they do block LoS regardless of height. In the bit quoted in the thread Kogan links it states 'intervening' models and I'd argue that a model standing directly on top of a mraker isn't intervening, it is at the exact point you want to target. However thr FAQ is very poorly worded and should state explicitly that its regardless of Ht to stop people trying to rules lawyer it. As Myrra says you shouldn't make inferences from the rules or FAQ but by playing it RAW it comes up with a ridiculous situation.
