Greetings All, Just getting back into Malifaux now that 2E is rolling and have a couple of questions that came up in games this past weekend. Poison and the McMourning crew (I've read the FAQ but want to make sure I have it right) 1) Catalyst - causes Poison damage at the start of the activation (with damaged bumped up by Induction if applicable). Any model with the Poison condition still in effect suffers this damage again during upkeep, right? 1a) Would Catalyst interact with the Flesh Construct to cause healing due to the Poison condition during activation and upkeep? 2) The Mature Nephilim's "Charge Through" trigger is worded " . . . then this model takes a Charge Action against a different target if it is not engaged" Does the "not engaged" portion of the trigger mean the Mature Nephilim, it's possible charge targets or both of them not being engaged for the trigger to succeed? We ruled that it would apply only to the Mature Nephilim (it swats whatever is engaging it aside and charges any model it can) This one I couldn't find in the FAQ or with a forum search and would appreciate some feed back. @Serigala - Heck yes I considered the other 10 Thunders (especially Misaki) but her box hasn't been released yet (January, I think) and I haven't heard when Yamaziko who (to my newb Malifaux eye) looks like a pretty impressive support piece is supposed to be available. As such my shiny new model syndrome kicked in which gives me the patience of Homer Simpson waiting for a flash-fried buffalo . . . Hence the purchase of the Viktoria's, Von Schill and company while I wait.

Many Thanks for all the input, I will add a Student of Conflict to my order. I'd already picked up the currently released stuff for Lynch's crew (mostly because I love the model for Mr. Graves), the 1.5Rulebook and Storm of Shadows. After a few tries on the table top (despite enjoying their flavour) I decided that a crew with a more direct approach would better suit my playstyle and settled on the Merc Outcasts (who slightly edged out the Guild) mostly due to the upcoming Freikorps Stongarm release (if the other Storm releases are a sign of what's to come that model should be awesome).

Greetings All, Brand new player to Malifaux here who'd appreciate some feedback on my planned purchases (listed below) and wants to know if an "All Mercs" approach to the Outcasts is viable. The Viktorias Freikorps Boxed Set Taelor Sue Ronin2x Desperate Mercenary Convict Gunslinger So, does the above set of models give me enough different options at 35 ss (seems to be most common game size at my LGS) with either Viktoria and Von Schill as the crews leader? Thanks in advance for any advice/input.

@dgraz - Thanks. After reading some other threads I think that Sonnia is my gal. Now I just need to work out a couple of 35ss lists (most common game size at my LGS).

@Agreen53 - thanks for the input. My question on which of the other Guild master best compliments Hoffman is a three parter on play style, bad match ups and ability to use the same models in a list. Hoffman looks to me like he wants to field a group of constructs that sticks pretty close to each other during a game (a "turtling" style of play) - which other Guild masters play either a more mobile or "hit and run" style of game? I assume that some of the other factions are a bad match up for Hoffman - which masters are strong against those factions? Lastly, once I've settled on that second master, which models will work well with both them and Hoffman. Again - thanks for any advice.

Hey All, Long time miniature gamer who (after a great demo game at the LGS yesterday) is finally getting into Malifaux. I'd greatly appreciate some feedback on a couple of questions. I plan on starting with Hoffman and either Lady J or Sonia (1st question - which of these two masters is the better compliment to Hoffman?) 2nd question is on my "purchase plan" which is currently as follows: Hoffman boxed set Mechanical Attendant Peacekeeper So, depending on whether I pick up Lady J or Sonia what other models should I get in addition to their respective boxed sets and am I missing any key models for Hoffman? Thanks in advance for any advice/input.
