I'm planning on buying into Malifaux probably in about two weeks. My situation here is this. I looked at the game a few years ago and thought about getting Pandora, who I still would like to get, BUT of the two people I know who play the game, one of them plays neverborn (I hear she mostly plays dreamer), the other plays arcanists. Obviously I'd like to avoid "mirror matches" and I'd also like to avoid having our arcanist feel like he's facing the same stuff all the time.
So question one is: Are Pandora and Dreamer reasonably different, or are they both just neverborn?
Alternatives for me are Criid, but the guild in general seems like the least aesthetically pleasing faction to me (I'm not that big on mechanika/ steamworks/ clockworks). The Ortegas seem Okay but not great to me. I've also been thinking about resurrectionists and while Kirai and the asian themed stuff seems okay, I think Molly seems cooler.
So question two is: from the perspective of learning the game, do you think I would find Molly much more difficult to use then either Criid or Kirai?
From among Pandora, Criid, Kirai, and Molly, are any of them particularly good or bad for a beginning player?
