So the wording on Misaki's pilfer is that "The opponents crew discards one soulstone, AND you gain one soulstone."
Last night I got the trigger to make a pilfer, and they spent their last soulstone to cheat their defense up (it didn't get high enough) so I still hit with the trigger. Well they didn't have any soulstones. I made the argument that AND implies that both effects happen at the same time, and thusly are independent of each other, and so even though they could not discard I would still gain. Any thoughts on the contrary? And if so what is your reasoning?
