  1. But the rules are available easily? You can buy the books. Malifaux is already quite unique in that you can forgo buying the books if you buy 2nd edition models. They stuck with the aresenal boxes for a really long itme and it's just not profitable for them to keep producing them and there's still the option of print on demand. You can always ask to borrow cards from someone else but if you want access to all model stats the rulesbooks really are the way to go. (Worth their money just for the fluff anyway imo)

  2. I'm suprised people are calling huts and such ht2 terrain as well, surely those things are about the height of a person on a horse, and thus should be at least ht3, no trees or such either? I don't think it's a stretch that there should be terrain that blocks line of sight for every model on the map at least?

  3. I'm a firm proponent of talking stuff out with your opponent, and of course like saying "I'm placing this model here with the intent to block line of sight" is fine, but as Bengt said, the issue with it is that you are adding extra bookkeeping and stuff to remember. Not to mention it gets iffy when involving moves where you can't choose the distance or when you just, didn't think about the line of sight between those two specific models.

  4. So tons of tournaments seem to limit people to a 100 ss pool or something similar, and include the restriction that you can only summon from that pool. And, aside from being annoyed at this random cuddle to summoners, I don't really get the purpose of it? Like, limiting selection seems to only encourage more cookie-cutter builds and dissuade people from bringing along niche models, which seems like a bad thing. Added on that isn't one of the core concepts of malifaux, or at least that's how I always sell it to people, the fact that you build your list after you see the layout and know the objectives?

  5. It's not a super hard experiment for them to do to release alternate Scheme / Strategy sets, doesn't change any existing rules or models, I'd definltey be interested in seeing assymetic strategies / schemes. Sadly my regular opponent isn't too fond of the current Story Encounters strategies.

  6. I'm still holding half a hope that the arrival of an AP + the core rules being available for free now might mean a slight reinvestigation of a lot of things. It's why I'm a fan of Guild Ball and how they handle their business model with the rules for the models being online for free and them having done several big balances  already. I don't think Malifaux is in need of any big balancing changes (I personally would rather see some rules stuff cleared up), but a few things being changed would be nice. (Mostly thinking of a slight Lucius buff here.)

  7. I think the idea might be that you haven't spent the AP yet by the time the action is replaced by On the House? honestly both declarations of actions need to be cleaned up and Brewie just needs a re-write to his abilities. (Honestly Im' hoping with the rules now being available online for free they'll be spruced up a bit.)
