  1. On Saturday April 6, starting at 10am and running till we are Malifaux-ed out. Amongst the planned events: 10am ---There will be a series of Malifaux Demo's running through till about 2pm 3pm --- There will be a no fee starter box tournament. There will also be an Evil Baby Orphanage deck or two laying around for people to enjoy between games. At this point there is rumored to be at least 12 people showing, some come on down and join us. The more, the merrier.

Hanley, #1207 Coeur d Alene, Id 83814 208-762-7764 The Store opens at 10am and we will be starting at 12n Lists will be 25 points built from a 35 point pool. Strategies will be flipped for using the Expanded rules chart. Terrain will be pre-set. Three round format: Recognition for : 1st 2nd Best Painting SportsmanShip Biggest Cheater for Charity Proxies are allowed as long as they do not exceed 50% of your crew and you have the appropriate and updated stat card. Entry Fee will be 3 cans, with special rules for extra can donations. As a special treat, Strategy & Games is offering a 10% discount on Malifaux purchases to all participants on the 20th of October, 2012. ---------- Post added at 08:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:11 PM ---------- October – FEAST October 20th, 2012 Entry Fee: 3 canned goods* *For simplicity sake we will refer to canned goods. This encompasses non-perishable food items acceptable to the food bank. Alternately, $1 will be an acceptable substitute for a single canned good. For larger items, the Henchman in charge will determine the approximate value/worth (ie. 2 or more cans.) Pool Based Tournament: Each player will create a list of models able to be hired, not exceeding 35 points. They will also be able to identify up to two Masters (or Henchmen being played as a Master) that they plan on using. If the player identified one Master and one Henchman, they will not be able to hire the Henchmen using the Master unless that Henchman is also included in their 35 point list. (Note: Avatars must be included in this list for a cost of 2 points.) -Kris lists his two masters as Seamus and Molly. He cannot use Molly in a Seamus lead crew unless he also lists her in his 35 point Hiring Pool. Non-unique models may be listed more than once. For every individual model you intend to hire, you need to have that many model(s) listed in your Hiring Pool. - Cindi wants to play the Sonnia Box, she will need to have in her Hiring Pool- Samuel Hopkins, and three (3) witchling stalkers. Summoned models must be listed in your list, but only once, no matter how many you succeed in summoning. Models that can be summoned but have no soul stone cost must still be listed. - Phil is playing Nicodem and plans to summon punk zombies during play, but does not plan to start with any. He will still need to list at least one (1) punk zombie, even though there may be any number that are in play due to being summoned. From this 35 Point Hiring Pool, each player will create a 25 point list to compete with each round. It is in the nature of Malifaux to allow players to Cheat fate, and it is the nature of this event to gather food for the food bank. So what better way to combine the two than to allow players to “BUY” Cheats? Malifood 2012 Cheats “Breaking the Rules” At any point during a game, a player may donate canned goods to create an in-game effect. These canned goods are in addition to any canned goods that were donated for the registration fee. The following are the in-game effects that are generated by extra donations: You may donate 1 canned good to: 1. Add +1 to your initiative flip per can donated. Secretly decide a number of cans to donate and after your opponent decides how many cans to donate reveal the total bonus amount and then flip for initiative. 2. Re-flip 1 of your duel flips*. Each subsequent time you break this rule, whether it’s for the same flip or a different flip, the cost to break this rule doubles. -For example the 1st re-flip = 1 can, 2nd re-flip = 2 cans, 3rd re-flip = 4 cans, etc… The cost resets back to 1 can at the start of your next activation. You must use this before you cheat from your hand or use a soulstone (if the model has Use Soulstone). 3. Force your opponent to re-flip 1 of his/her flips*. Each subsequent time you break this rule, whether it’s for the same flip or a different flip, the cost to break this rule doubles -For example the 1st re-flip = 1 can, 2nd re-flip = 2 cans, 3rd re-flip = 4 cans, etc… The cost resets back to 1 can at the start of your opponent’s next activation. You must use this before your opponent cheats from his/her hand or uses a soulstone (if the model has Use Soulstone). 4. Add an additional soulstone to your initial pool for hiring. This is secretly determined prior before the hire crew step and you and your opponent simultaneously reveal your totals at the Hire Crew step. This increase is for a single game only. * The exception to this is of course the Black Joker. If you flip the Black Joker, Fate continues to frown upon you no matter how much good Karma you have. You may donate 3 cans to: 1. Shake effects on your Master or Henchman. Effects that can be shaken are slow, paralyzed, burn, poison, etc… This can only be used once per turn per Master or Henchmen. 2. Give your Master or Henchman (+1) General AP, this is special and will stack with the Fast ability. This can only be used once per turn. 3. Generate 1 free focused attack. Each subsequent time you break this rule per turn (not just activation) the cost to break this rule doubles. The cost resets back to 3 cans at the start of your next turn. 4. Measure the distance between any 2 models on the board at any time. You may donate 10 cans to: 1. Give 1 non-unique minion +1 Cb, Df, and Wp to the stat line for the duration of the game. This can only be used once per game and does not stack with the following Cheat. 2. Give 1 non-unique minion +2 to Cb, Df or Wp to the stat line for the duration of the game. This can only be used once per game and does not stack with the previous Cheat. 3. Prior to the starting initiative flip, designate one of your minions to have terrifying. This can only be used once per game. You may donate 25 cans to: 1. Start with your Master’s Avatar form. This is per game. 2. Hire and attach an in faction totem your master would not otherwise be able to. This is per game. You may donate 50 cans to: 1. Take one out-of-faction minion or henchman. This model counts as a friendly, in-faction model that ignores HIRING RESTRICTIONS. This model is added to your Hiring Pool for the duration of the tournament and does not count against the 35 point limit. These villains were last seen in the vicinity of Strategy & Games, Inc. in Coeur d Alene, ID. Be on the lookout for criminal activities. If you witness such, the perpetrators should be considered to be dangerous and all those allied with them should be terminated with extreme prejudice. Our gracious Governor General is offering a reward for the individual(s) who bring him the greatest number of heads belonging to these anarchistic law breakers. What: Bounty Hunting league This is a Story based League, where the members of the league will be hunting the top players in the area. Each week there will be rules modifications to change things up and keep things from getting too stagnant and also create some more challenges for the Bounties, and perhaps give their hunters an edge. Challenges should be coordinated through Strategy & Games. Contact information for each of the Bounties is available at the store. The Challenger/Hunter will choose the size of the encounter – and may select either the Starter Box or a total of 20-50 stones. If the Starter Box is selected, then both players must select a starter box to compete with (barring additional points/models from special rules.) Additional rules: No player may face the same opponent twice in a row Bounty targets may not challenge each other Hunters can challenge anyone, but only get credit for total wins, by challenging Bounties. At the end of the month, the player with the greatest number of wins will received a custom painted and based Master, and a Retro Fate Deck. This is a Free to play league, players however are responsible for providing their own models. Up-to-date cards are required, and up to 50% of your models may be proxied. Each week there will be a new bonus allowed to change things up. If the challenger selects a bonus, then both parties will receive their respective bonuses. Week – 1 The vile fiends have attacked Guild caravans and stolen soul stones destined for Earth. The Governor General demands that the villains be brought to justice. Optional Bonus: Hunter -> 1 victory Point (may reach a total of 9 victory points this game.) Bounty -> +2 Soul Stone Cache Attention to all loyal Citizens of Malifaux City.

Alternate Route (Mei Feng Only) When a destination cannot be reached, the wise man finds an alternate path. - Three Kingdoms Proverb Setup After all models have deployed, place one 30mm Embarkation Marker completely within your Deployment Zone. The Marker must be touching a table edge within the Zone. Then place a second 30mm Destination Marker completely within your opponents's Deployment Zone. That Marker must be touching the opposite table edge. Special During the Encounter, non-insignificant models in your Crew may perform the Action: "(0) Building the Line: This model places a 30mm Route Marker in base contact with itself." This Scheme must be announced. Victory If at the end of the Encounter you can trace a line from the Embarkation Marker to the Destination Marker and that line passes through Route Markers no further than 6' from one another your crew placed, you score 2 VP.
