  1. Agreed with the idea of summoning her is well worth it. The model looks amazing and is one of the main reasons I decided to start out using kirai. Her rules seem to provide a level of crowd control which I have been unable to find similar in a kirai list. Is there a similar minion available to Kirai which provides this lock down threat? On a similar vein, due to jaakuna being unique; can I later summon her again after she has been killed previously? My opponent thought not so we decided against it. I believe that I should be able too, with the obvious restriction that I can only have 1 Jaakuna model in play at any time, is this correct?
  2. So after my first game using Kirai I am interesting in hearing what peoples plan is when it comes to summoning new models onto the field. I understand that this is always greatly dependent on the minions you have taken in your list plus what your opponent is using, however a rough guide would be helpful. During my game i took Kirai Datsue-Be 4xsheishin lost love 1xshikome During my first turn I summoned Jaakuna Ubume and worked my way up the field. I was also able to summon 2xGaki on the first turn by casting spirit food on a despirate merc then switching dastue-bi upfield to cast and kill the merc with weigh sins (is this action legal? can i summon 2 gaki from 1 model through the use of 2 independant abilities?). I later summoned Ikiryo and an onryo once I was closer to action. As an aside question, do people think that a summoned shikome is worth it instead of taking one as part of your crew, it is my understanding that a summoned shikome does not get a single-minded target, is this correct?
  3. Awesome I thought as much. Any idea were in the rule book it actually says this? It makes so much more sense that the model should receive an activation and slow would indeed provide some balance.
  4. Just had my first game last night with my new Kirai crew and used Jaakuna Ubume against the victorias. I was just wondering what peoples thoughts were on the model as I have been unable to find all that chatter about her throughout the forums and on pullmyfinger. I found that she was able to lock out one of the vics basically the entire game through the use of sirens call and childs cry. Sirens call particularly seems nasty and at times I thought my opponent was going to just about tap out as he was unable to provide the vic support to take Jaakuna out.
  5. Hello all, iv just starting malifaux and decided to pick up both lady J and a Kirai crew for diversity. Last night I used Kirai for the first time and my opponent (who is also new, using the victorias) and I were wondering weather a model which has just been summoned by Kirai/dastue-ba can later activate in the same turn it was summoned. My opponent was certain that the model wouldn't be able to activate as he thought this was OP, and we played it out that way. I ended up getting the win but I just thought not being able to activate slows the crew down dramatically. If I am right in that the newly summoned model can indeed activate is this also true for summoning flesh-constructs with McMorning or with ramos summoning steam-punk spiders and such.
