Suggestions on supporting the Alps? I liked the tar pit aspect of them more then anything else.

I liked the Stitched and the Alps better than the the Chompy sling shot.

Badger made the Krome specifically with miniatures in mind. The new Minitaire paints look really good to. I'm at about 500 paints as it is so any more and the wife might just take me for a drive out to the desert.

If you take a look online you can find a fine tip upgrade for the Patriot.

I have a TCP-T20 and a Patriot 105 with the fine tip. You can get this set up for under $200 and is a great starter set up. The patriot is an awesome workhorse brush. I use it on everything now. The compressor has a tank, hose, moisture trap, and regulator for about $115.

Very solid work. Keep the pics comeing.

If its a good seal like Testors it will take a while. The best strip I've used are Simple Green and Purple Power. Use a denture brush to scrub. A toothbrush is too soft.

GF9 and pins for me. Never had an issue.

I also prime gray. Always shake your paint pot before each use and use a wet palette. You can find a million threads about cheap home made ones, but the Masterson one is about $8. You dont need $30 brushes just some mid level one like Reapers or a good sable brush. A few thin coats is better than one thick coat.

The secret weapon washes are what I use now. Way better IMO.

I use a cheap cutter for this. That's a big chunk of metal to cut through. Dont mess up your hobby cutters, we all know how expensive they can be.

I use all the paints you have listed there and P3. I regularly mix them with no problem. I think the Reaper master series brushes are a good start. You will get a lot of use from any brush as long as you take care of it. I clean with pink Soap after every paint session.

GW panit for me is too costly.

Reapers are fantastic with a huge selection.

Model colors are good, but dry to flat for my taste.

Game colors are good GW replacements.

P3/Foundry are my personal favorite because I like to use a wet pelette and do a lot of wet blending/feathering.

If all you have near you is GW there is nothing wrong with using that.

I do mainly Warmacine/Hordse and average about $35 to $50 for a jack, and about $35 for a character. I average it to about $10 an hour. I like to do bases and conversions for free but always ask if it is OK with the client.

If you have any doubt about the primer you are using do a test run on a peice of the left over sprue.

You need to have a background in your photo. The color of the background will dramaticly change the way your model looks. Heres a few links to some that I like. I generally have a light source on both side and on top. Sorry if this was already mentioned but I stopped reading about half way through this post.
