  1. Try some coffee stirrers. I always get funny looks when I grab a big hand full at Star Bucks
  2. Suggestions on supporting the Alps? I liked the tar pit aspect of them more then anything else.
  3. Thanks for the sugestions guys. i went with dreamer LCB Coppelius 3x alps 2x Stitched 3 x Day Dreams I liked the Stitched and the Alps better than the the Chompy sling shot.
  4. Badger made the Krome specifically with miniatures in mind. The new Minitaire paints look really good to. I'm at about 500 paints as it is so any more and the wife might just take me for a drive out to the desert. If you take a look online you can find a fine tip upgrade for the Patriot.
  5. I have a TCP-T20 and a Patriot 105 with the fine tip. You can get this set up for under $200 and is a great starter set up. The patriot is an awesome workhorse brush. I use it on everything now. The compressor has a tank, hose, moisture trap, and regulator for about $115. I would look on Amazon.com or webairbrushes.com Chung (WGC) has a code here to. CONSORTIUM for %40 off I think. Good luck mang!
  6. Thanks guys. Got these second hand, so what you see is what I have. I will check the LGS for some of the suggestions here. Running guild for so long has me thinking about the other side of the game. Standing there and shooting is only fun for so long
  7. Lilu?? or the male of the twins (Name???) He makes me think of the song Rock Lobster by the B 52's. He looks like an evil rollie polllie.
  8. Here's what I'm working with. Suggestions on a starting crew please. Lilth The Dreamer Lord Chompy Bits Terror Tot x3 Mature Nephlim x1 Alps x3 Young Nephlim x2 Day Dream x3 Stitched Together x2 Lelu Liltu
  9. Very solid work. Keep the pics comeing.
  10. If its a good seal like Testors it will take a while. The best strip I've used are Simple Green and Purple Power. Use a denture brush to scrub. A toothbrush is too soft. Hope this helps
  11. Check out Massive Voodoo, lots of good stuff here. http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.com/2009/10/tutorial-overview.html#photography
  12. GF9 and pins for me. Never had an issue.
  13. I also prime gray. Always shake your paint pot before each use and use a wet palette. You can find a million threads about cheap home made ones, but the Masterson one is about $8. You dont need $30 brushes just some mid level one like Reapers or a good sable brush. A few thin coats is better than one thick coat.
  14. The secret weapon washes are what I use now. Way better IMO.
  15. Hey! Just ran across this on Kickstarter. Looks like a great idea. Give him a look. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1141913215/impudent-mortals-gaming-terrain
  16. I use a cheap cutter for this. That's a big chunk of metal to cut through. Dont mess up your hobby cutters, we all know how expensive they can be.
  17. I use all the paints you have listed there and P3. I regularly mix them with no problem. I think the Reaper master series brushes are a good start. You will get a lot of use from any brush as long as you take care of it. I clean with pink Soap after every paint session. GW panit for me is too costly. Reapers are fantastic with a huge selection. Model colors are good, but dry to flat for my taste. Game colors are good GW replacements. P3/Foundry are my personal favorite because I like to use a wet pelette and do a lot of wet blending/feathering. If all you have near you is GW there is nothing wrong with using that.
  18. I do mainly Warmacine/Hordse and average about $35 to $50 for a jack, and about $35 for a character. I average it to about $10 an hour. I like to do bases and conversions for free but always ask if it is OK with the client. You can see some exaplmes of my work on my Facebook in my sig.
  19. If you have any doubt about the primer you are using do a test run on a peice of the left over sprue.
  20. Thanks Turbodog. I didnt even think of stripping the spell away. My shots were all over the place as well. I will try these tips out thanks.
  21. You need to have a background in your photo. The color of the background will dramaticly change the way your model looks. Heres a few links to some that I like. I generally have a light source on both side and on top. Sorry if this was already mentioned but I stopped reading about half way through this post. http://massivevoodoo.blogspot.com/2009/10/tutorial-overview.html#painting http://corvusminiatures.blogspot.jp/2010/04/cloud-backdrops-for-your-miniature.html
