Right when the first wave beta hit and i realized Killjoy could be taken with Gremlins I decided i wanted a Grem-themed KJ. Also the rest of my crew has water bases similar to this, so had to keep it going.

It's a specific scenario that sparked a broad question. If the Void Wretch attacks and kills Bete while she is buried does she get the chance to take her action and rebury? Can you take actions or declare triggers while buried?

just had to share a hilarious Nothing Beast kill. I got initiative and slop hauler threw some slop and knocked nothing beasts Df down (as Tara player had a full hand not being able to activate.) Tara activates and does stuff not important. drops her hand. Nothing beast is at 4 wounds at this point. i activate Lenny and throw two Bayou gremlins at the NB who fails both tests and dies. both gremlins survived. had a great laugh about the mental image of dumb ol' lenny throwing his buddies at the big scurry monster.

I know there is at least one shop down there that plays warhammer/40k. Gonna have to do some head hunting/converting when I get down there it seems.

I'm gonna be moving to Carbondale for school, but I want to continue to play as well. Is anyone in the area? I have a feeling it may be a Malifaux ghost town down there.

I would like to see Collodi get more puppets to play with. Originally, I wanted to see the Marionettes get a rule like Wastrel's have where each one is more individual but that would make him even more complicated. Just bring on more different puppets even if they are dual-faction models.

^^this. But specifically I would like to see a gremlin effigy. no idea what it could/would do, but Collodi hasn't spread enough creepy for my taste.

I'd like to see two things. 1.) a gremlin that pays homage to Joe Dirt, because I think he is pretty much the living embodiment of "Dumb Luck." and 2.) a gremlin effigy for my Collodi to play with!

Soory for bringing back an old thread. But it seems that the option to discard a card is tied to the ability Dumb. can you just willy nilly discard a joker to give fast/negate summoning slow?

No, the effect ends at the closing phase. Look at the ability in long-hand and it makes more sense.

-Mimic is choosing an effect that lasts until the end closing phase

-Mimic Talent can thus be written out as "Gain one talent possessed by target model, until the end closing phase"

-Gaining The Oldest of Magic would be written as "This model is immune to .... The ability cannot be negated or removed by any means. This talent last until the end closing phase"

If it wasn't for the wonky wording i would agree with you. Mimic Talent says "Gain 1 Talent . . ." if it had said something to the effect of "Treat this model as if it had 1 talent possessed by target model" then i can see that Mimic would take it away, but mimic actually gives the talent to the doppelganger. once TOoM is on the DG Mimic tries to take it off at the End Closing step but it shouldn't be able to because this talent cannot be removed by any means.

It feels wrong, but with the Errata on Jack Daw's 'The Oldest of Magics' saying "This Ability cannot be negated or removed by any means," if you were to Mimic 'The Oldest of Magics' with the Doppelganger, wouldn't she keep the ability for the remainder of the game?

You cannot Mimic (1) Hurt from Sue because it mentions Sue by name in it's description. "Inflict up to 3 Wd on Sue"

Jack Daw is another one with lots of fun stuff to mimic. Suppressed Memories and Heart Stopper for some instant death options.

It feels wrong, but with the Errata on The Oldest of Magics saying "This Ability cannot be negated or removed by any means" wouldn't it not fall off at the End Closing Phase? Someone please explain why it can't work, because right now i'm looking at it as Mimic grants the ability and at the end closing Mimic takes it away, but the ability granted says it cant be taken away.

I've used DG and Sue for extreme card advantage. copy Hurt, use Hurt for 3 cards, then (0) Mimic Healing.

after playing Magic: The Gathering for ever (recovering "addict" lol) i've always said card advantage is what wins games.

6 extra cards a turn is nothing to sneeze at.

also some fun stuff is with Zoriada and Ophelia. copy Ophelia's Pistol and Calculated Luck trigger for some extra damage potential.

you can copy Zoriada's WP and Honeyed Words from Beckoners for some all but guarenteed brilliance distribution. Really DG with Beckoners in general is pretty gross. An extra sales pitch out a turn. Yuk!
