IMO your easiest schemes there are Protect Territory and Plant Evidence. I'd go for Merris with a couple of Bayou Gremlins as backup for those schemes, then focus the rest of the crew on Turf War. Som'er is always good but I'd probably not go summony because of Make them Suffer. Probably like Burt, Francois, etc. To specifically counter 10T, McTavish and Sparks are neat, McTavish stopping people from taking Focus helps turn Shenlong down a bit (as well as other models who get extra benefit from it) and Sparks stops all their support models targeting friendlies (no giving a 5" push + fast to two models a turn from Sensei Yu)

Sounds like a lot of support models. How many SS is Sparks? I don't have him but could get him in time for the game. If still similar to what is on Pull My Finger (https://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/M2E+Sparks) there seems to quite a few useful utilities to him.

  2. To follow up my own post, the list seemed to go well. Probably should have won instead of drawn, but forgot to ensure recon for turn 2 so lost a point there. Also, bodyguard would have worked better than entourage with Sammy, as I likely could have kept her alive for two turns to get full 3 points, and keep Sammy actively involved rather than lobbing to the other end of the table. But freeing up Somer is really useful as he is so dangerous, especially with Lenny backing him up!

Oh, I also swapped out the Moon Shinobi for a stuffed piglet, mosquito and 2 extra SS. This helped with turn one pigapult shooting, various mosi tricks and spare SS.

    My standard Som'er list is:

    Som'er

    -Family Tree

    -Encouragement

-Can O'beans or Liquid Bravery or Ya'll Watch This (depending on opposed faction, Strategy, or Scheme options)

    Skeeter x2

    Slop Hauler

    Bayou Gremlin x3

    Piglet x 2

31 SS with plenty left over for other choices. My favorites are:

    Lenny

-I'll Love It and Pet It... (especially if hiring the Pigapult)

    and/or

    Francois Lacroix

-Ya'll WatchThis (if not on Som'er)

    and/or

    Pigapult

Working off of these suggestions for a beginning of a list, I am looking for a bit feedback on a possible list for a game in a few days. It will be Recon with Break Through, Bodyguard, Plant Evidence, Entourage, Line in the Sand.

    I am thinking of taking:

    Plant Evidence and Entourage/Bodyguard

    Somer - Liquid Bravery

Sammy - Family Tree (being the focus on Entourage/Bodyguard)

    Skeeter

    Pigapult

    Lenny - Love & Pet

    Slop Hauler

    3 Bayous

    Moon Shinobi

I dropped the piglets and a few things to fit in Sammy and the Moonie. I feel this allows Somer to be freed up to do other things, but still potentially summon two gremlins and two piglets per turn depending on the cards. The Moonie helps deal out some damage, especially on the hard to wound stuff. Thoughts/feedback? Too many specialist types? Am I better to go with Bodyguard or Entourage?

  4. Needing some help with ideas for the 3 player strategy "loot". Everything I've so far tried keeps resulting in dead Gremlins.

My latest idea, which I have yet to try, is for Mah to push 8" at start of turn, then push 6" using "let Mah handle this" towards a Wild Boar that is beside the treasure marker in the middle. That gives me 12" deployment, 8" push, 6" push for a total of 26" to take Mah into contact with the marker. She then picks up for 2AP then takes a 5" walk away from the two enemies crews to put as much distance from both crews.

I would probably consider taking Trixie so as to get first initiative, as well as Lead Lined Apron on Mah.

What else would you suggest? Dirty Cheater on Mah to help her survive that first turn? Every model will be ganging up on her first turn!

Is there a model that could make Mah walk? Trixie's lure will force the marker to drop.

Only in the Campaigns from the 3rd book

Can you expand a bit? Does this mean that avatars are only use-able when playing the campaigns from book 3?

The Sow is probably your best choice to summon off in this case - she has a few more wounds.

Yeah, I was planning on using The Sow for summoning.

I don't have cards/books to hand, can the Sow have any upgrades?

Does this mean Gracie is an optional choice rather than necessary? Although obviously she brings benefits to the crew.

  7. A friend got me Ulix and Penelope on ebay for cheap, but no Old Major. Is Gracie an acceptable substitute? Who should I give Corn Husk to, if I give Saddle to Gracie?

Anything else I should be aware of by not having Old Major available?

  8. Hi all,

I've used Milliput before and it's always worked well. I used up my last bit last week (admittedly it's probably 3-4 years old now...but had used the same stuff a month or two beforehand without problems)...the latest batch of putty is still curing!!

Anyway, I am looking for any ideas to speed this up? I have tried putting on top of a radiator, but that seemed to make the putty softer!

Any idea if Malifaux models are "safe" to put in an oven for a brief period of time?

    Anything welcome.

General top tip vs Ressurectionists, although you didn't seem to need it this game is Moon Shinobis. Ressers tend to have low Df but a lot of Hard to Wound, which translates into lovely :+fate damage flips and a big card sink for your opponents if they try to avoid it. Their Stumble Around Drunk trigger ain't too shabby either.

I really like this idea! Do Moon Shinobis work ok with other Masters? I don't have Brewmaster (got Ophelia, Somer, Ma, Zoraida, Wong).

  10. I get twitchy whenever we get near the end of a gaming system's current range of models, as it usually means a version update is near, involving more cost, change, etc. How much are we still waiting for gremlins or malifaux in general? Do we still have a while left or are we likely to see change in the next year?

  11. What do you think about taking Bishop as a merc and then Mancha Roja? Bishop can paralyse someone with Haymaker (no triggers required) then Mancha Roja can kill the target with the Finisher trigger on his Grapple. Whilst Mancha can achieve it himself, it would require two different suits.

If you kill a target straight out like this, does it ignore Hard to Kill?

Math Mathonwy did. Absolutely decimated a Nicodem crew in its deployment turn 2 and left scars to the Nicodem player that he never will get over.

Math - do you remember what you took and what you did to earn this comment?

  13. Just played my first game where Turf War was the strategy. Up against Marcus. It was tough going and lost in the end. What would you all consider taking as Master/Crew in that scenario? Schemes were assassinate, kill protege, protect territory, take prisoner. I'm really struggling with crews that are combat orientated.

  14. Just looking for a bit of insight into what choices people would generally use with Ophelia. Feel free to add details of which strategies and schemes would be relevant for model choice if you feel able to go into that kind of detail. Do people go with Young Uns or other choices for totem, or not bother? I see bits of advice in Pull My Finger, but wondering what people finds works better?

  15. This has been really helpful but I wonder if people could give their thoughts on Master/crew selection if they were limited to Ophelia and Som'er only? That's the only two Masters I have and struggling to know which to go with and/or which models to include in the crew. However, I guess it also depends a lot on the faction being faced but at present I wouldn't know which of the two to go to (and again which models to include in the crew) no matter what faction I was facing - so any help on that front too would be useful. I've read Pull My Finger, but feel it lacks this kind of detail.
