  1. There were quite a few people who were playing pick-up games through the day both Sat and Sunday. Not sure how you missed them.

Not having a pass is just silly, why didn't you just go buy one and find games to play. So many tables and tons of people with Malifaux stuff.

  2. One issue with the 'information is already there' idea is that some of the threads are older and some of the information may be obsolete, errata-ed, etc. While I agree it does get a little muddled with the same questions asked over and over.

I think a better solution is to either better support PullMyFinger with accurate and up-to-date tactica, or in each forums have a single FAQ master sticky that has links to the PullMyFinger pages, and more importantly, the 'best-of' threads for a particular master.

Issue with this is that no matter what someone has to keep it up-to-date.

Fastenhate and PeregrineFalco are coordinating a Dead of Winter Campaign at Myriad Games Manchester, NH. We will provide all the necessary rules and also provide updated stories for each faction. At the end of the achievement night a vote will be made as to which faction the participants want to see story updates for.

NOTE: This is meant to be light, and beginner friendly. The goal is to complete achievements, have a great time with friends and affect the outcome of the campaign.

  4. Because it's a league silly, without pairings it isn't a league, it's just free play.

I would also suggest to make rounds 2 week long, should help alleviate "bad week" syndrome without going too overboard.

I agree with this 100%. Life gets in the way, coordinating can be difficult. I think 2 weeks for a VASSAL league is reasonable.

  5. Thanks for all the information here... I'm still waiting for my birthday sale stuff to arrive but I'm planning on how I'm going to play him...

Since most people are seeming to be running the boxed set and nothing that can't be used as 10 Thunders do you all see a reason to go Resser over 10T?

If you want to use canine remains or night terrors then go rezzers. There a equivalents available to 10T but if you dont have the models (i.e. desp mercs or 10t bros for example) then it may be easier to get started with him as a rezzer solely because you have cheap models and objective grabbers is the canine and night terrors.

  6. The only issue with typing is that it'll take much more time to write what actions you are performing, rather than "say and do". The skype installation process is very simple and straightforward, you just have to click a few buttons and you're ready to go, and it's free!

The downfall of talking is that it's a little more "home invasive" ie maybe wives don't really like to be heard by the gamer community, I know mine isn't really found of having to be quiet for 3h!...

    :)

This is why I like Teamspeak/Vent, you can mute your microphone with a key binding really easily. As mentioned above I'm usually on a Teamspeak server 24/7 (most of if in the AFK channel), so my wife is pretty familiar with walking in my office and waiting until I mute my mic before talking. With that said, she also says hi to my friends on Teamspeak since she knows them all in real life :)

Not that I have a problem using skype going forward, but the quality is def less than that of Teamspeak/Vents audio codec.

  7. That would be my interpretation. I find it rarely matters, if the opponent wants Chiaki dead she pretty much always dies. That said since she doesn't bring a ton of offense I find she often gets ignored, which is certainly fine by me.

While true, she does a great job at grabbing objectives against moderate to lesser minions. Plus, if she moving towards an enemy, she can trigger the Excessive Bleeding, which for something like Line in the Sand, can be really useful when competing for a dynamic marker.

  8. I guess I'll chime in here.

I just used Army Painter (Crystal Blue and Skull Bone) to prime my Yan Lo crew, and the detail was not lost at all.

The one thing about using Army painter I've noticed (and this is a plus I think), is that it is thicker. Therefore, you really want to be very careful with how much you apply. I have yet to apply two coats with the Army Painter.

Not sure what the problem might be. Are you holding the model while spraying? I noticed that helps to get a good clean, even application. I've stopped doing them in a set.

To answer your question, I just use Concentrated Simple Green and an old tooth brush (after letting the models sit for a few hours). Comes right off.

  9. well then, will there be beer involved??? I might just have to make it....

I call dibs on Peregrine's second bed...

@Drool_bucket, if you're truly interested in sharing a room, I'll have to contact the hotel about switching to a two queen bed room. Originally, I booked a 1 King. I don't know about you, but if my wife catches wind that I'm sharing a bed with someone other than her, she may come a knocking on the door.

Let me know, and I'll see if a 2 x queen bed room is available, if not I have an air mattress or we can ask for one of those roll away beds.

The is always alcohol at Templecon. I need to boost my Craft Drinks skill, anyway.

Note: I do not promise alcohol at the events, they frown on that.

While there may be not 'alcohol at the event', there will be alcohol in my room :).

I hear the non-Malifaux games (i.e. Battlestar Galactica) can be pretty funny with a few drinks in the cylons/players.

  11. Always can use help. PM me your email and I will add you to the big list of volunteers. Probably looking for some demo running help(we like to keep two people at the demo tables throughout the whole convention)

@Nilus, just a quick question about this. I PM'ed you a few weeks ago about my availability. Is the plan to contact people when things are closer about whether or not you need them? I just haven't seen a response and want to make sure that if help is still needed that I am available.

    Cheers!
