  1. The scariest match up I had all weekend was vs. Greg' 10T in the finals. If cards had gone differently I'd bet we would have seen a 10T champion!

(My loss to Pandora with Gremlins was arguably 'tougher' but far more predictable!)

I took Ophelia with the exception of round one of the Avatars where I had Viks agains John's Pandora.

That game was wicked close, and boy did you get some great cards. The event overall was fantastic and i had a blast. Wish i could have made it back for the story encounter, alas i did not. 10T was very competitive but i was surprised to see very little during the masters.

I was extremely impressed with how well the events were run. Very smooth, efficient, and they looked like a hoot.

I played against Chrissy in the last masters round. Hopefully she had fun. The games were all quite fun thanks to all the organizers!

  2. Well, if you can't make this one there's going to be another tournament on 4/21 at Card Empire in Torrington, CT. 1pm as well. That post should be coming soon.

Very nice to hear there are tourneys going on in CT and multiple ones, is just awesome.

Sadly, that weekend is Adepticon, so I'll be in Chicago, getting a big fill of Malifaux :)

I'll let my friends know about that one also.

You should get on our Google Group so we can add you (and these events to the calendar)!

Here is the post I started trying to coordinate New Englanders.

  3. Ditto, wish I had known earlier.

Would have loved to make the trip down. I am from CT so could have stayed with family for the weekend and made the trip up Sat for the tourney!

As Drool_bucket mentioned we are trying to pull together all NE henchman to a mailing list, and google calendar so we can all coordinate events in the New England area.

This is a perfect example of an event we would loved to have had on the radar!

I will email my friends who live in the area and tell them to head over...no guarantees they can make it though.

  4. Without this, I guess if you really wanted to, you could give up an activation to failed charge into an enclosed piece of terrain (e.g a building with no doors), then nobody but spirits could get at her, but you could still diving charge out at whoever you liked! (Within range). Definitely a necessary bit of FAQ right there!

Yeah, I'm glad I wasn't crazy for thinking that if she could go through walls (of an enclosed structure), it would be a little broken.

Bodygaurd + Saving Face, Misaki inside building. Guaranteed 4VP for something like Contain Power.

  5. This topic/idea came up at a recent event, "How do the Henchman in New England coordinate events, to better server everyone?".

So this this thread will serve as a placeholder for people to find information about New England events. There will still be the standard post for specific events, but this thread will hopefully serve as an FAQ about NE Malifaux-ers, events, sharing terrain, etc.

If you are a Henchman in New England and want to be listed here just let us know, below is listed the current list of Henchman that have asked to be involved. NOTE: The page http://www.malifaux.com/Henchman.php has the most up-to-date information, this post may be less up-to-date.

    Wyrd Forum Names:

    Fancy Hat (Amesbury, MA)

    Jonasty (Watertown, MA)

    Inquisitor Wall (Chicopee, MA)

    Fastenhate (Pelham, NH)

    PeregrineFalco (Manchester, NH)

    Silas Cordell (Manchester, NH)

    Trunks651 (Litchfield, CT)

We also have a separate mailing list to help coordinate, but post here first to get the quickest response.

If you're looking for demos, pick-up games, tournaments, this is the place. New England is pretty big, but just about everywhere (except northern Maine) is within in a 3-4 hour drive. So if you're in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Maine, Vermont chime in and let us know where you're lacking games/henchman/events.

I'll start a post with some information about when/where I play regularly. Other henchman may want to do the same.

---------- Post added at 11:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:25 PM ----------

I usually play Tuesdays at Myriad Games, Manchester, NH (1525 S Willow St, Manchester, NH), and have demo days available every 2nd Tuesday of the month. Just let me know. My thread for RSVP-ing these demos is here.

I am also about 15 minutes from the Game Castle, Londonderry, NH (123 Nashua Rd, Londonderry, NH), they have great terrain, and have tons of space for tournaments.

  6. Thank you Adam and all,

I had a fun time playing in the event and meeting some new people. I surely will regret posting this, but I "enjoyed" playing against Pandora twice...the reps will probably help w/ Adepticon.

    Thanks again,

    Chris

PS: Adam, Is there something you'd like to tell me? Nice pic of my a$$. ;)

Well I was going to wait to tell you when we are at our hotel in Chicago for Adepticon, of course.

  7. I have PMs out to a few of you Henchmen that I don't have emails for. Once I get them, I wills end out an email to:

    Fancy Hat (Amesbury, MA)

    Jonasty (Watertown, MA)

    Inquisitor Wall (Chicopee, MA)

    Fastenhate (Pelham, NH)

    PeregrineFalco (Manchester, NH)

    Silas Cordell (Manchester, NH)

If there's another Henchmen I'm missing from New England that wants to get in on the list, let me or the other guys know.

Awesome! Maybe what we should do also is start a thread here in the North America sub-forum in case anyone is trying to find out more in the future. Also, a place to point new (and old) players in New England to for questions about demos, events, or club meet ups. Can list the henchman like you did above.

That way if you search New England, it is the first hit.

  8. Glad everyone had a great time. Great to have people come from so far! Western MA guys and even Virginia! I'll post results and photos on the main post. I didn't get any shots of the painting competition, so hopefully someone got some.

I think Drool_bucket has a great idea about getting all the Hench(wo)man in the NE area on a mailing/website to coordinate events. At a minimum we now have about 5 Henchman in a 2 hour radius, so we should be able to have some good events!

Being my first event, I appreciate all the help everyone provided:

    • Drool_bucket - Made all of our hills for the King of the Hill, as well as a table of some nice terrain and tree!
    • TruAskew - Brought three tables worth of awesome Hurst Arts terrain he made himself, absolutely great stuff
    • Nix - For help showing me some tricks with Ratty's tool
    • LaserForged, LLC - Donating all the center objective markers for Line in the Sand and King of the Hill, as well as prize support. They can be contacted via laserforged@gmail.com (info@laserforged.com or @LaserForged on Twitter). They are a local group making really nice stuff, and really want to help support tournament organizers. Contact them with any questions. They're just starting out so if you can't get a hold of them let me know!
    • The Game Castle, Londonderry NH - Throwing some extra $ in to the pot to round out the 1st and 2nd place awards! As well as being super accommodating with space, tables, and stocking the store with a bunch of new Malifaux items just for the tournament!

  9. Just a quick reminder about this event. Ill be there somewhat early, 10am (when the Game Castle opens), setting up tables and getting situated.

Hoping for a great turnout... A local terrain making company has stepped up and will be supporting the event, so come by for a sneak peak at some new great items (and of course a chance to walk away with free goodies).

Looking forward to a great day!!

P.S. i will have a small best painted award as well so bring some of your best work!!

  10. I highly suggest at least one stiched together. Beckoners arent bad at all. Graves is not a bad minion but i feel quite situational. Have you thought about a set of desperate mercanaries for the crew also? They can give you some shooting...also if you considernthe archers theyre fun to add in too.

I mostly play him as 10T, but find him extremely competitive. So first i suggest doing a fun game with a proxy of a stiched and a desperate merc, dropping Graves. Keep tannen near the stiched so your opponent has a hell of a time cheating against the stiched.

Also, some torakages arent a bad idea.

I guess my point is that Lynch is a great master as he can add a lot to his crew. Dont give up with him he really is solid.

  11. I don't think that works.

Diving Attack: This model Charges an enemy model ignoring LoS, terrain and intervening models. If the Charge fails end this model’s activation.

It doesn't allow you to move Ht for free as it doesn't grant flight, so Misaki will still need to get to melee range to attack.

So there are quite a few contradictory responses in this thread. Here is my interpretation of it.

Diving Attack, Misaki has it and some Nephilims. I believe that she ignores the movement penalty for the terrain, but still has to move around, over, etc. She doesn't have flight like the Nephilims do, so she def. can't ignore the 8'' in the case where her target is up high. She also, can't move thru the wall since she is NOT a spirit. While she can ignore LoS to choose the target she can't move through a building she would have to go around the wall if inside (which would make the charge illegal since it is not in a straight line).

The way I understand it is that she just ignores any penalties, so if it isn't climbable she can climb it, if it is severe terrain, or impassible, she ignores the penalty, but still has to move the distance. She is a ninja, fluff wise I think of crouching tiger hidden dragon type maneuvers. Walks up and over walls, buildings, but can't move through them and can't fly.

Would love clarification on this from an official before Adepticon, because I expect to see quite a bit of Misaki players (and may play her myself).
