  1. Not denying that fact, just making a statement that you really can't count them out. If they were as bad as everyone makes them out to be...they never would have even made it into the finals in the first place. I wasn't really trying to make any final statements when I said that. Just that every faction has a chance. I mean I remember one time I played a 40ss game and just for the fun of it ran Seamus, Molly, Grave Spirit, Sybelle, and 5 Belles. It wasn't an amazing list, but it was a ton of fun. That's what the game is all about. If what you're looking for is just a super competitive then sure, go look at Hamlin. But if you're here for the laughs and fun, then why care if someone else gets some of our cool toys? Kick back, laugh a bit, and have some fun with your mates. That's what this game is all about. Or at least that is my humble opinion.
  2. I know that I'm a new player and all, but this whole Resser hate thing really doesn't make much sense to me. Yeah our Night Terrors can be taken by Dreamer, but hey we can still use them. Yeah Levi can take the Dead Rider, but we still can use it. We get an 8wd, hard to wound, luring monster of a Belle for only 4 points (granted I just love those girls). Yeah I'll agree that Seamus should have a couple more SS in his cache, but oh well he still has one of the best Avatars out there to make up for it. And to top off everything else...out of the 9 finalist of this years US Masters, 3 of them were Ressers, and the final table wasn't Neverborn but Outcast. In fact Neverborn didn't even make it to the finals at all. So if you're going to hate on a faction at least go for the one that has won the major tournaments as of late. I'm not trying to sound like a jerk here or anything, but I'm of the belief that if you're not breaking down laughing at least 3 times per turn, you're taking the game too serious. I mean come on. We get to play one of the most entertaining and fun mini based games out there, so why complain?
  3. It's not that he never got the Sooey! trigger off...just that I think he thought that he would be able to survive the attacks and keep his good positioning. I think that he might have regretted doing that now. But now I'm coming to a conundrum. My local GS is running the Story Encounters from Adepticon and as a new Resser player, I'm unsure as to the best way to play through them. We really don't have any Guild players left, I was the only one and when I quit playing there's no one left, but we have a lot of Outcast players. This really worries me because I'm horrible at playing Reconnoiter. What kind of Seamus list would actually work for this Strategy? Or is this just one of those ones where I'm going to have to give up points and focus on denying my opponent points as well?
  4. Actually he brought 4 pigs and a pigapult even. The pigs just died quickly because they couldn't hit when they needed to, and then were lured into Seamus'/Sue's kill range. Those two make a great killing pair lol.
  5. That list actually looks a lot like what I have planned for my Seamus. I haven't been able to get my hands on his avatar as of yet, but I really love it. I started playing Seamus because I just fell in love with that model lol, well that and Molly that is. Truth be told I tend to run my Seamus crew as a very non-competitive crew that's just really there for the fun of it: Ressurectionists Crew - 35 - Scrap Seamus - 4 Molly - 9 Sue - 8 Madame Sybelle - 6 Rotten Belle - 4 Rotten Belle - 4 Necrotic Machine - 2 Not really sure if this list really is all that great in truth, but the two times that I've played I've won by a large margin. Oh and I've only ever played Seamus 3 times now, so I'm still really inexperienced.
  6. Seamus vs. Gremlins (no Kin)...it didn't seem fair at all. They really didn't have any chance
  7. Alright first time playing Seamus today. I played against our local Nico player, so I felt like I was at a slight disadvantage with Terrifying being worthless and all. Well we played a 35ss match that actually ended as a draw. He had Claim Jump, Bodyguard, and Surrounded by Death. I had Escape and Survive, Breakthrough, and Bodyguard. I chose to take Seamus, Molly, Bete Noir, Madame Sybelle, and 2 Rotten Belles. We deployed via corners and the funniest thing is that I didn't lose a single model, well I lost one Belle that I summoned. And by the end of the game I had 6 Belles and a Necrotic Machine on the table, didn't own any Dead Doxies at the time, bought a blister on my way out though. We both ended up with 6vp because we both made stupid mistakes. I forgot it was corners deployment and went to the wrong corner, right half of the board, but wrong corner, and then he lost Surrounded by Death because I summoned so many Belles lol. Well it was a lot of fun, but what might I take to overcome aNico? I just didn't want to get too close to him because he just kept putting out Punk Zombies for free.
  8. I'm actually surprised that neither of you said to take the Dreamer, but yeah I was leaning toward Big Z myself. She really can do a number to other crews, especially since I know that Perdita is going to be making a showing Is there any set Strategy that I should be especially worried about with Big Z's box? If so, how might I combat it? And who will most likely be my toughest match up other than Hamlin?
  9. Alright I know that this doesn't really fit this thread, but I have a tournament this Sunday. It's a fixed Out of Box tournament. These are the boxes that I have painted right now: Sonnia, Lucius, Seamus, Rasputina, Dreamer, and Zoraida. Also it is 25ss and we are unable to bring anything that wasn't in the box, other than ressers who can raise new ones and such, aka no grabbing totems and the like that didn't come in the box. The strategies will be picked from the expanded and no scheme can be picked twice. Which of these boxes do you all think will do well? I've been thinking either Seamus, Zoraida, or Sonnia, but am open to any advice.
  10. Also that makes it so that he won't be drawing a new hand for the next turn. Which is always nice.
  11. Oh yeah, forgot about that. Well at the very least it should only take one attack apiece to kill Waifs so I'm not too worried. If all else I'll just throw a knife at one Or am I focusing on the Waifs too much? I actually have never beat that player before, not that he's amazing, just that he somehow always seems to draw the right cards at the right time.
  12. I thought that she would come in handy against the Leveticus player at my gs. He generally takes a Canine Remains just to kill it turn 1 so that he has two Hollow Waifs on the table, but if I can pop her out and then flurry to kill both, he'll be in for a hurt Well at least that's the plan anyway.
  13. Ok just got Bete today but haven't tried her out yet. How do I use her with Seamus? Any good ideas? Also what was your best Bete moment, either using her or having her used against you.
  14. Sadly yeah it does all make sense. It would have been fun if he became undead lol, I guess it would have been too good.
  15. Stain of Damnation: This model is not considered a living model for game effects, but does drop Corpse Counters as normal when it is killed. Quick question on this ability. Does this mean that he is now Undead? Or what? What I'm trying to do is take the Grave Spirit with Molly and then after Seamus goes Hulk attach it to aSeamus. Is this possible?
  16. Oops thanks for the catch Carse, forgot about that. And yeah Hans is good and all, I just don't see him being worth 9ss. But then again there are times that he really could fit into a stratagy that you're doing, so I guess there will be times that he could help. Is there anything else that could fill that same role for the Ressers that doesn't come with a 9ss cost?
  17. Just a question...has anyone ever run 2 Convict Gunslingers at once before? And if so, how did it go?
  18. Yeah that would be a lot of fun if you could. Then I would field a lot of them, good way to kill off models fast
  19. How do you give an emery model Massive Dose? Don't you have to use it on a friendly model?
  20. Good to see you again Ozz, thanks for letting me know about that in the first place. Sue really came in handy in my last game with Seamus.
  21. Nope for some reason you still are able to take him, seeing as he isn't "hired" I guess. I just learned this myself too, which made me really happy. Also remember that Nurses really don't do all that much for the Convicts because they don't have shrug off like Sue does, which means that if you stem them they'll be sacked at the closing phase. But now that I know that Seamus won't be sacked when I give him reactivate from the Nurse, she has become an auto include. Not only getting the leftover ap from Seamus, but also a full turn extra with aSeamus is amazing
  22. I'm sorry, but what actually makes Hans worth it? If he was 6ss, 7ss as a merc, then I would be willing to take him. But for 9ss he just doesn't bring enough to the table. But I have to agree that the Convict is great, huge fan of him. But a Sue that could reactivate just seems great. But I have to agree with you, 2 Convicts for one point less is much better than Sue and a Nurse. Also a question about the Nurse. If you stem Seamus right before he avatars will he be sacked at the closing phase? Not too sure about that.
  23. Dang that's insane! I never really looked at the Nurse before, but now I'm really liking them. I'm going to need to buy a blister of them lol. Any other great combos I'm missing?
  24. You know I actually never thought of running a nurse with Sue before. Being able to reactivate him and even give him more wk is a great boost.
  25. Mk they actually sound really good now, but another model that I have a question about is if anyone has had any experience with Sue? Love the model and have loved using him with Sonnia, but I'm wondering if he's actually useful with Seamus.
