  1. Thank you again for the comments! The things I've focused my attention on is paint additives, light box building and how to make a wet pallete. Many skilled painters have made great tutorials and posted on youtube. You guys helped me look for it, and for that I am grateful! I also bought new brushes. In the range from triple zero to size 2. Maybe I can get some iris-painting action now xD Right now I think I'll invest in the Reaper Master Series line of paints, OR keep mixing my own colours and stick with the Vallejo Game Color, which so far has served me perfectly. I keep notes on my ratio when mixing so I get it right next time. I have realised that the washes is a must have. And I'll make sure to get Badab Black, Devlan Mud and Ogryn flesh from GW. Today (saturday here) I'll paint all day I'm feeling a little schizophrenic about what style to paint in though, since I both like the cartoon-style and the gritty look I've made the Convict Gunslinger in.
  2. I looked in to it Omen. But I couldnt find someone who sold it in Europe. What I did find out however is that p3 and >Vallejo Game Color< (which I am using right now) is available almost anywhere. I would gladly appreciate any help concerning paint. Sure I can google it but I prefer to listen to other who paint Malifaux
  3. Thanks again for the comments. I'll try out your steps Leifer. I will dare to do the highlights now that I've seen the awesomeness of cartoon-style eye-deliciousness!
  4. I'll make sure to add the washes. Thank you guys for the positive feedback. I'll try to get Taelor up soon
  5. I just got into the whole miniature hobby and painted my first mini a couple of days ago. This is absolutely inspiring stuff. You may call it simple but all I want to do in this instant is to pick up the brush and get down to business
  6. The main reason I used a size 5 brush is that I forgot the rest at home xD Actually I mixed all the colours myself out of the basic Game Color set. I got the skintone right in the first try! But Decided to darken it a little I didnt use a light box, I actually held a piece of paper and got light from 3 angels. But it didn't help so much. I'm gonna make a lightbox this week though About the base. I'll give all my minis fancy bases once they're done. Given I'll probably do them last they might be better looking than the minis themselves xD
  7. Thank you for the comment I did this paintjob with a size 5 brush. I watched many tutorials but dared not risk to ruin the mini once I had it in a "acceptable standard" So I'll work on shading and highlights with my next mini Hopefully you'll see progress for each new mini I post. In the end I'm gonna go back and do some finishing touches on everything and take a groupshot. About the bases, I intend to order some and have it painted before the groupshot Now that I watched the pictures I noticed details I need to work on that my eye didn't catch!
  8. I just got started with miniatures. This is my first painted piece. Convict Gunslinger (My favourite wyrd miniature) I know I have much to learn. I intend to keep painting and once I get skilled enough I'll go back and redo the first ones.
  9. He's already a given buy once the official model comes out! Thank you for answering!
  10. Can he even assimilate opponent constructs?
  11. Hi! By now I have read just about all posts in the outcasts thread. Unfortunately I only have book 1 and 2. And have become mighty curious about Lazarus. Could I get someone to do a little spoiler on what he brings to the table or do I have to wait a couple of weeks before I place my next order? From my understanding he has a spirit inside him and collect bitz and pieces to make him powerful. And he's a blastmaster!

Hi! I started out with the Von Schill box. In my next order I'm gonna do a standard list that looks very much like the people suggested: Outcasts Crew - 35 - Scrap Viktoria -- 8 Pool Von Schill [9ss] Convict Gunslinger [5ss] Freikorps Librarian [7ss] Freikorps Trapper [6ss] Models by the ringside: Taelor (Never leave home without her) Freikorps *2 Freikorps Specialist Plus I'll order Misaki and Ronins together with the Vics. Freikorps are like coachroches. You need to stomp them good to get rid of them. But they lack heavy hitters. Ronins are very good for their point cost + one is (hopefully) enough to keep Vic alive and kicking (might serve as a distraction once your opponents gets tired of her not dying) Misaki is fragile but has a nice reach with her melee and a good sting to it + magic weapon. Taelor is.. Taelor! She get's the job done! But at a high price. That's how I'll start out, after reading other Vic posts and doing some reading of my own. Right now the only thing I know I'll add later is the Ten thunder brothers. You always want to adapt the list after the strategy and schemes for the encounter. Basically I think you'll be doing the core encounters alot. Where there are 2 Strategies that will benefit from having good melee in my experience. But that's for you to find out
  13. Thank you for the response! Is there any way I can make this super clear for my buddy? Perhaps something I missed in the rulebook? It feels odd just to say: "Hey, I told you so" xD
  14. You are absoluteley right Todd. I did it with phun intentions. But I totally get your point. In the future I'll make sure to either a.) Do as you suggested, or b.) post a more serious topic. That being said, sorry for the inconvenience! It wont happen twice.
  15. Hi! I just started playing Malifaux, and I need this question sorted out since a player in my club disagrees with my conclusion. Question: Is it allowed the pick a henchman in scraps? This is what I found in the rules book: "When a crew is led by one or more Masters, it can hire one Henchman per Master" So for example: In a 35 points game I can bring: Outcasts Crew - 35 - Scrap Viktoria -- 8 Pool Von Schill [9ss] <-- Henchman (Duuh) Convict Gunslinger [5ss] Freikorps Librarian [7ss] Freikorps Trapper [6ss] I can even do this in the Crew creator. So I belive I am right when I say that you CAN bring a Henchman with a leader to a scrap. Thanks in advance for replies!
  16. Todd I was obviously being super-sarcastic about Taelor :1_Happy_Puppet1: Thanks bluestar and Fetid Strumpet for answering! I'd like to have the option to do pure Freikorps. But without a melee meatstick I dont see that as an option.
  17. I really raised your hope there huh? xD My intention was to ask if there will be more Freikorpmodels in the future? I would love to see some punch-in-face awesomeness in Freikorpsarmor. Perhaps they could lend Taelor some armor?
  18. Mirarri : I want the "gritty" look on the figures. If it need to I'll just highlight it up. From the videos I watched the result that appeals me most came from black primer/white drybrush. Which Is why I'm trying it out. But I'll try out grey eventually aswell Demonn Agram: Thx for link. I already read it but I appreciate when people point me in the right direction Edit: I just saw that I didnt read the WHOLE post last time. Your tips is awesome Demonn and I'll follow your advice!
  19. Hey! I've been interested in miniaturegames for about a decade. I have never really painted a miniature but have watched alot of tutorial videos. So the thing is. I sprayed my minis black, next thing I want to do is to drywash them with white colour. Then add an inc to it. After that I thin paint out and brush thin fine layers. So I dont fail to miserably when I slob it all over the miniature. Is this the best way for a newb to start out painting? Any help would be appreciated. The players in the club I'm going to haven't really done some ace works so I kinda rely on my own trial and error.
  20. The more I read the more I laugh. That list would be the epicness of awesomeness!
  21. All I know is that Sonnia looks awesome. Hope someone could post me a way to use them together efficiently. It doesn't have to be perfect, it just has to happen! :Smug_Puppet1:
  22. Hi! I just started collecting and playing Malifaux. My first box and models was Von Schill (Captain Awesome) and other outcast models. Now I'm looking for a leader he can Hench for. Two things got me interested in Sonnia. 1. She looks like his wife. 2. She blasts alot, and his armor can deal with it. So the real question is. If I'd like to run Sonnia with the Friekorps. What would you recommend me taking from the guild? I have limited gaming experience with malifaux. So If I had to choose today I'd just take the things that looks good
  23. Thank you Spiku for you advice! I'll make sure to post when I found my own way to use Captain Awesome
  24. The player with Perdita has starting box. The LaCroix player has the So'mer box aswell. After reading the books twice and getting a better understanding of the game i get it that both crews are very deadly. And their key heavy hitters needs to get dealt with swiftly. My main idea is to hit move in position turn 1. Hit and run turn 2. Gather crew turn 3 while keeping them barely out of reach from me. and try to get initiative turn 4 to weaken their alpha strikes. All I really need to do now is play and gain experience. Thanks for all the help guys!
