He would have been using the poltergiest, Pandora's totem. It has a one spell called persistant distraction. Its a four inch pulse everybody effected has to make a WP duel or activate after every model unaffected activates.

50mm for HD, 40mm for Mr. Graves everything else 30mm
Thank you Ratty.

does anybody know what size bases the new neverborn range come on? I have ordered them but I'm considering getting scenic bases so this info would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

I have nothing to add to this conversation, other than this has been an entertaining thread to read.

[h=2]Malifaux Demo night at Newcastle Good Games.[/h]
When: Tuesday 14th August, 6pm-10pmWhere: Newcastle Good Games, 768 Hunter St Newcastle ( opposite spotlight) just look for the blue shopfront. Phone: 02 40238664Who: Ask for TimWhat do I bring?: Just yourself. I will have everything thats required to play a game of malifaux. If you have a crew bring it along.Hope to see you thereTim. -
yes she can, in fact she has very good synergy with coppelius and the stiched together. oops also forgot she works well with the insidious madness. they cause all sorts of willpower checks and thats always good with pandora. so a 25 SS crew could consist of Pandora, 2 stiched, coppelius, insidious madness, and the primordial magic( Totem). Put this on the table and watch your opponent cry!

looks like a fun list. my preference is taking the primordial magic as her totem over the cherub. you get arcane reservoir with it and its casting is the same as hers. It can use soulstones to cast so is just as effective at casting transposition as Lilith. so you would save SS on the arcane effigy.
Tuco is almost a must have in my lilith crew. he brings alot to a nephilim crew with his range attacks and durability( something that is lacking in a nephilim crew). veil apperance is an amazing spell the fact that it includes a push is just gravy, enemies cant even lock him up in melee. hard to kill with regen is just rude it has kept him alive for me so many times. i find that i need to activate him early in a turn to get the veil up otherwise hes in trouble. a very fun model to use.
the black blood shaman i find is a hard model to use effectively. i have used him three times and every time i felt i didn't get his worth out of him. he has alot of abilities but is very blood counter/corpse counter dependant, the range on his spells are quite short which is an issue as he is slow compared to the rest of the crew. he has potential but i haven't been able to tap it. since i have purchased tuco the choice has come down to between him and the BBS, and tuco has always won out.
hope my disjointed thoughts have helped.

The following made my opponent need a new pair of shorts when he realized what I was doing.
Killjoy
Bette Noire
Nurse
Necropunk
I used with Seamus, but can easily go with McM also. I would also consider a merc with Shrugged off to maximize the Nurse, and Canine remains to stall out you activations.
Basic idea is to have nurse reactivate Necropunk turn 1, hopefully get 2 :masks for leap, and after your opponent activates as much as possible you have the Necropunk spend its 2 activations and uses the last action to get killjoy. As an added benefit you also have Bette Noire. You should be able to take out 10 points turn 1 between the 2 of them. The worst case scenario is that you have no masks and you opponent hides. You can try and wait until turn 2 and save masks for maximum distance. In theory you can get 29 inches from the Necropunks deployment spot to where Killjoy and Bette noir pop out, then let them wreck havoc.
That is nasty. How do you sleep at night?

I have used him once in a 35SS game vs guild and he was very effective. I had Zorida, collodi marionettes and a couple of wicked dolls. turn two i teleported a wicked doll to collodi, did a move and then sacrificed it to bring out killjoy close to the guild crew. he only lasted from the end of turn two till the middle of turn three( when he was turned into a witchling stalker). In that time he managed to kill 5 models( 3 stalkers, their handler, and samael hopkins). granted i used both zorida and her voodoo doll to obey him once each but the results were impressive. it gave collodi the room he needed to destroy evidence and win me the game. i had grudged hopkins so he also got me two vps( on a slow to die action no less).I suggest you listen to the Aethervox episode 16 where Rathnard talks about killjoy. so yes hes expensive, yes he can back fire, but man is he fun, thats what this game is about right?

Honestly Seazan I think you would be better of having a zero cache with the viks, they don't need them. Then you can add more models to the crew.
-
I agree with Spiku, if I know Im going up against Neverborne-Pandora and Zoraida- then Sue is a huge asset, but against crews who dont use WP must i think he is wasted and a Convict would be better. Although I'm yet to play against a Ress crew...
Seazan you haven't ever had a problem beating zoraida with the viks. Why do you think you need sue? I mean at least give me a chance!

Glad this thread helped in your choice. Let us know how it goes. The dreamer does have a great backstory and I'm sure you will love his playstyle. One of the best things about this game is that the masters and crew play like they are described in the fluff. Oh and your right, you won't stop at one crew!
-
Yeah I have the lilith and pandora box set as well. Believe it or not I have the hardest time with the pandora set, just haven't put it all together yet.
-
I agree with Benw( because who wouldn't really? He's awesome) you should play the master and crew that appeals to you more regardless of how complex their rules seem. I was just stating my personal experience with the op as a way of saying "yes" the zoraida box set is a good, fun, solid crew.
-
I second the idea of going with zoraida. The dreamer has just been errated if you by the box set his cards will be wrong, for this reason alone I would steer away from him. To be looking at erratas and cards could be very confusing when trying to learn the game. The way he plays is unique. I would find learning the game with him a challenge.
The zoraida box set is a good start. It really plays a hit and run style of game. Silurids have fantastic movement and I find them a blast to play, but they are fragile so be careful. Bad juju is tough and looks like a likes needs to be in combat, but I find he's better as objective grabber with his from the earth ability. Use his resilience to take hits while completing objectives. Zorida herself is hard for you enemy to come to grips with because of her raven ability and her proper manners ability. A negative flip to hit is huge as it can't be cheated. Most the time my opponents dont bother going for her as its usually wasted action points. If she gets into to much trouble you can just fly her out of there. Her spells are great for manipulating your and your opponents crew, good fun. To star all you need is the box set and the voodo doll and your right to go. A very flexible 25ss crew.
-
So had anyone used the dreamer since the errata? If so would you like to share your experiences?
-
But I think people are starting to get there hopes a little high if they expect a massive errata of a lot of models. Personally I bet we get Hamelin and then we are done for a while. The rest of the game has some powerful models but nothing game breaking and I think it can stand to stay as it is for right now.
-
I doubt lelu and lilitu will escape being errated, as they seem to be an auto include in every neverborn list regardless of master or stratergy. So teddy might not look so bad in a while.
-
Lots of theory here. I want to see some results/ feedback on how he plays now. I have the other three neverborn masters, but have shyed away from the dreamer because of his power level. Would like to know if he is more or less inline with the other three?
-
Works awesome with Slurids - they love a 6" head start
Did this the other day with line in the sand. It allowed my silurids to activate two markers turn one. Very helpful.
-
Oh yeah, and don't run teddy out in front of niño. In fact don't take teddy.

well i have been waiting a few days for someone else to have a crack at this, but no one else seems willing so i will give you my thoughts. I say thoughts because I am a noob to this game and Pandora. I have only played three 1v1 games with her, and 1 2v2, and 1 four player free for all(very funny). i have played the Ortegas once 1v1 and lost badly, but my tactics were very poor.
so here are my thoughts. They all have stubborn so wp8 when you try to incite/pacify, perdita ignores expose fears, they have all have very good ranged attacks. they are the anti neverborn crew and have the skills to take pandora down. you said he will also take an austringer, 5ss for a wp7 12 inch ignore los cb7 ranged attack. It will make for a hard game in my inexperienced opinion.
this is what i would do when i face them next time, now i will add that you might not have the models i plan on using but hopefully I wil give you some helpful ideas. firstly if he takes no papa i will link a minimum of two sorrows to pandora so she has protection if they get around her expose fears( remember stubborn will not help them here). i would make sure that pandora has at least six ss hopefully eight( it will be more than your opponent). you will need all these to win those crucial wp duels, as well as pushing your casting totals into the unbeatable region for his minions. saving high crows so that you can get off the mental anguish trigger hopefully on perdita herself( remember you strip her immune to influence with the box opens). i did this once and it essentially rendered her useless for a turn. i suspect this is the way you take care of perdita keep making her run away.
Models i plan on taking next time( we play 35ss). the box set, a doppelganger, and a insidious madness. that will leave a 7ss cache. the ganger will hopefully let pandora get the drop on perdita, and the madness whispers will be useful to remove stubborn from key models, it may even be able to get it into position to give model a neg wp flip( with all their shooting that may be difficult).
this is the extent of my thoughts, i will let you know how i go the next time we have this matchup. hopefully someone with more experience is inspired to post, even if just to debunk my ideas.

if a model is killed by black blood does it count as vps for the slaughter strategy?
we ruled yes, but it was a bit ambiguous. thanks in advance.
