Exactly my thought. Which was the reason why I didn't like the gold with white in-lay. It took the eye away from the model, and the gold right next to the purple clashed something horrible.

Here's a shot of the metal wings. The top piece is just basic metal, and the bottom has some black inlayed in it and a black wash on the metal. I'm liking the direction its going. I might do a small bit of gold to pick out some details.

can we offer them a some drugged food or drink or something? Or bribe them?,... blackmail would be better though,...

I don't suppose we could distract the guards with shiny objects??? or point in some random direction and say "oh my!! what in the world could that be!!???",.. and then sneak past them when their backs are turned???
