I gotta say, I...didn't have a lot of fun with The Kin box. Assembling them is a damn nightmare (tiny limbs, weird join points, separate feet) and they're all at this weird scale where they are bigger than the old metal sculpts, but smaller than the rest of the Wyrd humans. So you get this bizarre mid-point where you don't have enough room to do a lot of free-hand stuff, but you can't go too minimalist and just to shades + highlights on account of the lack of real detail on them.So I ended up just going simple and cartoony, with drab browns contrasting with bright green skin and muddy bayou bases. I think it came out alright but to be honest I'm just glad it's done.

The ice is super-easy to do, by the way. It's just thick plasticard that I cut into irregular chunks, then glued snow flock on top (rather poorly at the time).

Oh hey I finally got around to finishing all of my current Malifaux models. Guess I gotta buy more!
There's more photos, including the two Gunsmiths, located over yonder.

Hey, why fill up the screen with images when I can just link the gallery? I totally love the gallery function by the way
This was a fun crew to do.

The bases for Teddy and the Daydreams, how were those done? Custom made or pre-made resin bases? I've been looking for resin bases in that style but haven't found anything!
Your painting is great all-round, you clearly can work across the various factions and genres that Malifaux blends together so well. Your Neverborn are my favourite although the blue flames on Samuel's base are good as well.
1/4" sidewalk plasticard from Evergreen Scale Models and greenstuff. I've debated on sculpting bases and then casting them in resin, but it's something I'm having to put off for a little while.
Oh, and I finished LCB.

I do like the Stalker color scheme a lot. Also is that your conversion of just the LCB or is that the Avatar?
That's just plain ol' LCB. It's a commission, and the customer wanted something really impressive as a centerpiece of his Neverborn.

Oh yeah, I have an account on here. Whoops.
May as well post some models, eh?
Good ol' Abuela, shaped like a thumb.
After like a zillion years I finally finished Sonnia's crew.
And hey, some Lilith and her little kiddies.
Teddy and some Daydreams, chillin' out.
And finally, some LCB love. Just finished up the base, and will be painting him soon.

Hey, remember when I posted models on here?
Yeah, neither do I.
Sonnia Criid! I finished her up a month ago or so, but being a lazy good-for-nothing I didn't bother taking photos until today. Silly me.

Building templates you say? Well! I've got a few of those, as well as some papercraft buildings.
Wizards of the Coast had a Map Folio back in the 3.5 heyday, and they made an online supplement that just so happens to a) be free, and still up in their archive. They're pretty decent insofar as papercraft is concerned, and you can always glue them onto foamboard or cardboard or something for extra support. The original Map Folio is long since out of print but you might be able to track it down on ebay or even not-legal means (how YOU go about it is your own business).

A ghost house from Raven's Blight. Suitable for Malifaux!

Microtactix has a free building sampler you can grab. Print out a few of these and bam, instant city.

One Monk Miniatures is ALL about the papercraft. They are mostly focused on simple one-dimensional figures, but they do have a decent crypt and tower that's worth a look.
A decent hovel from Fantasy Cutouts. They advertise themselves on the product which is a tad bothersome but free is free!

Now this one, I've had sitting on a couple hard drives by this point so I can't be entirely sure on where I got these originally. It's a bunch of building templates and papercraft made mostly for 40k, with some of them ripped from GW's site before they took it all down and remodeled it; this includes the much-coveted building templates they once had! Insofar as I know this is all freeware and/or fan-made material so I'm pretty sure I'm not stepping on anyone's toes here.

nice work slim, very nice design on the banner and like that u dirtied the banner aswell. the only thing i would say is to maybe dirty the cloak aswell to tie it all together, unless its supposed to be like ethereal or something.
Yeah, it was meant to be ethereal.

Another entirely unrelated Wyrd post, but one of my own models (FOR ONCE). Wight King banner bearer for a Vampire Counts army I'm slowly working on.
-
Oh man, you finally finished it!

Been busy with commission work (ain't that a surprise). Nothing Wyrd-related, but miniatures nonetheless.
First up, BLOODBOWL. Simple but fun.
After that, Battletech. Also simple but not nearly as fun. I dunno, something about these models is just...really boring to work with. Lots of lines and fiddly details that doesn't leave much room to work with, all but forcing you to drybrush and wash. Maybe it's just me.

I'll have to remember how you do the gold, 'cuz DAMN those look rich.

If you want to squeeze the most out of range for Hoffman, then you'll want to grab Ryle and Lucius.
Hoffman and Lucius can give Ryle several out-of-activation shots with his Gatling Gun; Hoffman can either Machine Puppet him up to 3 times, or give him Reactivate and one machine puppet attack, and Lucius can use Issue Command three times. Essentially, you could have up to 10 shots with Ryle in one turn (Ryle fires 3 times, Lucius uses Issue Command 3 times, then Hoffman gains Fast and uses Reactivate and Machine Puppet, giving Ryle another turn). It's quite nasty.
The Pale Rider might be worth a look into if you're looking for range; it counts as a construct and thus, has some good synergy with Hoffman.

*sigh*
Okay, so I just bought my pin vice, and I'm trying to pin this #$%^ mechanical pigeon to the book to paint it. The problem is every time I start to drill, the bit gets pushed up inside of the chuck from the slightest amount of pressure. I tried the smaller chuck, but the bit won't fit inside. If I'm gentle I drill and drill and the hole never seems to go into the actual metal. So what am I doing wrong?
The problem seems to stem from not securing the bit tightly enough. You really, really gotta twist the top there, or else it will do exactly as you said--sink right into the chuck. Mako's suggestion may work well if you are indeed twisting it harder than Chubby Checker, though you may want to check the drill bit or chuck if that's the case; something is wrong and you might have malformed parts there.
When it comes to pinning, you can't really be very gentle. Remember, you are shoving a corkscrew-shaped hunk of steel into pewter, this ain't a knife-through-butter situation here. Gotta really jam that sucker in there and twist hard, because otherwise you're going nowhere fast. Press in with your palm and twist with thumb and forefinger clockwise, and push into the miniature. Assuming it doesn't slide the bit into the chunk (how dirty-sounding) or slide into soft tender skin, you should see results immediately. Be sure to clean the bit off of the strands of pewter that come out.
Try it with some spare hunk of pewter or a "trash" mini, or even some thick plastic to get a good idea on how much force you need to use. This is a better way to practice than mangling the good mini's you plan to actually play.
On another note, I personally use sturdy paperclips when I eventually join two pinned pieces. Easy to get anywhere, and usually comes in large amounts for dirt cheap. If you kinda struggle to bend the clip, you've got the good ones.

Got to paint my own stuff for once. What a change!

The best use I've seen for Snow Storm is a big block of Not-Die. Spirit, coupled with Middle of the Storm, Bulletproof 3, and Eat Your Fill makes for one of the more durable non-undead models. Spells certainly will mess their day up (as well as the Ortega's and their concentrated shooting), but against a lot of crews they simply won't drop.
Granted, at 11 SS, they're an expensive meat shield, but they can generally take the punishment and come out none the worse for wear. Viable in larger games where they can park on an objective and keep it, or as a means to block off an area you don't want the opponent to go to. Snow Storm won't do much damage on their own, but Flurry, To the Bone, and Grip of Winter means they have a decent chance to bust out a Severe. I wouldn't rely on that, however.

Another commission under the belt. This time, the Hooded Rider.

A wild Nekima appears.
I should note that I pinned everything on her. Everything. In under 3 hours because someone bet me I couldn't do it.
I sure showed them! HA ha...ahaha...ha...I am never doing that again.

Finished some D&D models for a game I'm in.
Minharath the Kalashtar Cleric of Ioun
Balazar the Dragonborn Paladin
Dathria, the Human Rogue
Knall Ture, the Embersoul Genasi Wizard

I'm reminded of those damnable explosive floating mines from Metroid Prime.

Yeah I love mag'in models it just is kinda fun to do. But my all time crowning shame was mag'in a space marine commander model ended up using 59-65 mags can't really remember did it to a sixer of Guinness. Now he is like a GW model with the ease of a Lego style plug and play, everything wrists, codpieces, guns backpack, shoulder pads, arms, heads you name it everything included in the kit got magnets put into it. Now it sits at my LGS as a what can you do with time and magnets. Most people are starting to mag out their armies
You must show me this masterpiece.

Purchase would be the most welcome for a lot of people, I think. Myself included, obviously.
While I have a Lazarus already, it's not one that I've ever really liked all that much; it's an early plastic kit and it really shows compared to the current range.
