Hi folks,

I've been working on a McMourning box/crew and so far have them all on tile bases (basically I cut a circle of tile plasticard and glued it on as an insert). The idea being they are on morgue tile flooring. I'm a little concerned they are too uniform/boring but that's another topic

What I'm debating is: if I add Seamus or Nicodem or other Rezzer crews, what do you think the basing should be? Will it look weird if I end up mixing units and have some on tile and some on "graveyard dirt" so to speak? Anyone delt with this little predicament before?

Thanks all, I will definitely keep it. I kinda wish they weren't holding a guy over their heads - it makes them more obviously the same model (harder to add variation).

Hi folks,

I have the McMourning starter and accidentally bought two of the individual flesh construct models (not sure how I managed that...but I did). So I have three flesh constructs.

Am I likely to ever have three in the field, or should I try to return one?

My main concern is one of the dogs has back paws that are really wonky and hard to attach to a base. in fact, on the back of the box those feet are hidden behind another dog's render - maybe they knew it was "off" somehow

Sorry if this is a dumb question but: if the models (m2e plastics) come with cards, why would I need the arsenal deck.

Picked up a box of canines and the Seamus starter. I wasn't super impressed by the dogs, which is weird because so far the M2E plastics have been superb.

Yeah I think I might buy his crew box too

Oh! I didn't realize that. Thanks for the advice!  Is one box of the dogs enough (3, plus the one in the starter crew) do you think?

Technically can't buy the flesh constructs (plastic) separately though, right?

Also is Bette Noire a good choice? Hope I got that name right.

I am still reading the rules and have not yet ever played a game (for context on where I'm coming from).

But I seem to be addicted to these Malifaux plastics. The models are SO good. A little "fiddly" at times, to assemble, but still. Awesome. That said, I just finished assembling Bodies of Evidence and I would say it's my favorite kit to build / aesthetically so far (I've build Pandora, Lilith, Rasputina and the Dreamer so far as well).

Question is what should I add to this, bearing in mind I want to stick with the plastics. I assume at least one box of Canine Remains (should I get two?). Anything else you'd recommend?

I'm about to finish painting the Mother of Monsters set and wondering what to paint next. (weird thing is, Lillith was the model I like the least out of that set!).

Thoughts on where to go from here? I'm assuming Nephilim but interested in hearing if there are other options (because I don't really dig the mature Nephilim model that much).

Non-metallic metals. Means painting things like armor or swords with grey, white etc paint rather than silver, gunmetal etc metallic paints.

I'm just about ready to paint the first set of weapons on my Malifaux models (the claws on Terror Tots) and I have a bit of painters block. I can't decide if I should do NMM or metallics. Generally I find metallics easier to do but it seems like most M2E models on the net are done in NMM. What do you prefer (just curious about opinions). NMM is nice but I'm not great at it, and it takes me a lot longer to paint.

So this happened...

Because of the teeny-tiny attachment points some of these models have for basing (like the little feet on Candy) I decided I wanted to use plastic material to do my bases. That way, I could use plastic cement just like one uses to assemble the tiny joints. It has worked out wonderfully!

The material I used is a sort of cobblestone/paving stone look. I believe the brand was Plastruct. I used a circle cutter to cut them to size and glued them on, then added the models.  It wasn't easy using the circle cutter and some of the circles look better than others

Thing is, I like how they look - and they will certainly give the force some uniformity - but I don't want them to be too bland per se.

Any thoughts on what to add or how to make them a bit more interesting?

I was considering tiny bricks scattered on top (which may look strange since they would be nice rectangles and these are very organic surfaces). Or painting the surface with various shades, washes, "wet" effects etc.

What do you think, any suggestions?

Ah, sorry I looked at the setup rules and answered my own question

So if I understand correctly, you wouldn't go to a game with a force already made and then try to succeed...you wait until you have a scheme and then you build a force and play?  Need to paint more models before my first game

Well, sure there's always going to be certain paint jobs that don't appeal - it's a very subjective thing. Same goes for sculpts. I find that "darkness" sculpt completely unappealing and strange (the big toothy mouth blob guy) but that doesn't put me off the whole Neverborn faction

Nope, it wouldn't be easy that's true.  And agree, we don't know what constraints or information they are operating under.

I'm not sure why a nice paint job would prevent you from buying a model, looking at GW, Privateer and Infinity...I'd respectfully suggest you could be in the minority there
