Are you guys sure about shows/tournaments? I feel like those don’t matter that much to casual gamers who can’t attend them.

I don't think the store I play at has sold one copy of any ToS product that they have ordered in the 3 weeks it has been on the shelf.
Ouch

I’m thinking more public facing than trade magazines. For example google search or Facebook ads (which are much cheaper than one might think), more influencer outreach (I haven’t seen a single big hobby YouTube channel do content for the game but I could have missed it). There’s really a lot that can be done.

It strikes me that they don’t do much marketing.

That’s great to hear!

I’m really liking the look of the game and models in my pledge. But online conversation seems fairly quiet/muted (other than “where’s my shipment”)?
There are just SO many games out now competing for hobbyist and players’ time...I wonder if TOS can break through? Thoughts/observations/experiences so far?

Yep it's basically one of each of the Plastcraft Malifaux stuff. Exactly what you listed. Painting guide would take me too long to type out Basically lots of washes and very light drybrushing.
I did use this video as inspiration

Long time painter first time air brusher
I picked up dust masks at harbor freight....that was a mistake. I'm still blowing pink paint out of my nose. Nitrile gloves are a must and make for easy clean up.
Agree about the gloves. I'm surprised about the dust/nose thing...I only wear a mask when I spray solvent based paints like laquers or whatever. For acrylics I often don't bother, and other than really long, hardcore priming sessions I rarely even come close to having pink paint in my nose

The new mat arrived, here's a couple of shots.

I must be the only person in the world that likes these and I don't play jack will say I want jack as I have just got the crossroads seven and want to try running him with them but don't want to buy the box for just one figure!!
You aren't - I don't see anything wrong with the guilty models at all tbh.
-
Would love to see close-ups of the other models you haven't posted them of yet.

This is a FAT mat.

Is the Breach app gone from iOS now? Can't seem to find it.

Thought I'd post a photo of my Plastruct terrain WIP. Not finished - the house needs a fair bit more work, and the tower windows up top aren't done. Really like this terrain - I like the slightly wonky style, the size, the sturdiness and the fact it's light but not light enough to move around easily. This is just a really quick layout I threw together to take a photo.
The mat is nice but I've ordered a 3x3 to use instead I think. I also need more scatter terrain.
I also ordered a couple of the new pre-painted Plastcraft buildings/items to try out. Should be here in about a week.

Curious if anyone has examples of scatter terrain they use that they like (purchased, not built). For example, I have the plastcraft Malifaux one with the boxes and garbage cans, curious about other companies/examples.

Hey Minijunkie
- 30mm plexiglass discs on ebay - I can link you the store if you want, but really just search.
- Took pictures of my masters and trimmed out the faces
- Used the marker generater program, fiddled with the text and colors
- Printed on my color laser; had to do a couple test runs to get the sizes right
- Glued the discs on using a lacquer; I used the kind called decoupage, which is specifically made for this kinda thing
- Cut around the discs
I plan to put some felt backing on at some point, but haven't gotten round to it yet.
Thanks, they look terrific!

Thanks for this (o:
How did you make those?

Beautiful work!! Would you mind posting a closer shot of the rocket flames?

In case anyone ever comes looking for this answer, I asked Plastcraft and they confirmed it should be tucked under

Hey folks, for those of you who have assembled the tower:
At the top of the tower is a square platform. I'm wondering if, when you put on the large shingle sections, the top of the shingles piece should overlap the edge of the platform, or tuck under it?
I'm finding that it seems like it should tuck snugly under the platform, but when I do that, at the bottom of the shingles it sorta "bows" around the triangular window frame instead of being nice and straight across the bottom.
If you have assembled this beast you probably know what I mean.
-
I believe it's because most people prefer the look of round bases and they make it easier for models to be placed close together in multi-model fights.
-
Good idea

Yeah it's too bad the arms/hands are molded into the body above his head. I'm not confident I could convert him without mangling. I wonder if the mindless zombies might be options (but then again that's probably not an ideal proxy situation).
Think the game will take off?

As I browse the book I’m so impressed by the rules, art, lore and creativity which is why I’m hopeful for the game (and worried).
