  1. I'm not a Malifaux contributor, though I hope to be at some point. For myself, I would list as inspirations for my interest and ideas would be classic writings from H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, Lewis Carroll, Charles Dickens, and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes mysteries. I also loved the take on Victorian heroes and hints of steampunk-ness in League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Probably fairly obvious examples, but all very strong influences.
  2. I will strive for awesome. lol
  3. Cool! Where is Red Claw? I was raised in Edmonchuk but moved here to the States about 6 years ago. The Warp stores and Whyte Knight were pretty much it way back in my day....
  4. Duly noted! I look forward to extensive fluff discussions with nerdelemental.
  5. I'm still learning who's fan fiction and who's sanctioned writing. I'm looking forward to pretty much anything fluffy you folks are writing. I will definitely be buying my copies! So how does one go about contributing to the Malifaux universe canon? Or at least making submissions for consideration?
  6. I'd like to see what sort of effect an Earth with magic has on the religious development, too. Like His Dark Materials, but different.
  7. Released where? I don't see it in the store here... nor the ones in my neighbourhood, dang it. I'm hoping to see some Earth-side fluff. Or work on some myself to submit for consideration.... EDIT: Just saw your post TheOneWhoFell; I've been keeping some notes, and there is indeed mention of Old London and England. Also New Amsterdam, so before it was New York and - I think - American independence... if that even occurs in this Alt Earth. Three Kingdoms I too gather is Asian, Nippon being one of them. I imagine the other two could be like, Cathay and Siam, but we'll see I guess. At any rate, I'm not certain how open Wyrd development is to suggestion, but it seems like Alt Earth could be a whole lotta awesome fluff.
  8. I can't see which part of the forum would be more appropriate for this topic, so... I'm new to the game and have just finished reading through the core rulebook. I'm curious about the alternate Earth in the Malifaux universe and what that looks like. Is it still being developed? Is there some basic concept in place yet? Hopefully a mod or someone in the know can provide some insight.
  9. Edit: @guynamedFleck - I don't suppose you'd be willing to make foamcore building kits for purchase? I can't find anything like them anywhere and if you have the motivation and sanity, you could probably get a ton of orders! I'm on top of that list!
  10. Man, that's hot. Are those buildings hand-done from cardstock?
  11. Great job. I think the only thing I would do is "age" the rope a bit to give it that hay-coloured hue. I like the stone texture at the edges, too.
  12. My first minis were Space Marines and plenty of them. On the order of thirty minis for three troops choices. All my friends told me to assemble them first, then paint them. But something in my type-A personality refused to accept that. So I have always cleaned and filed bits, base-coated in either black or white, and painted each individual piece before assembling. I will, however, leave the areas to be glued unpainted - it can make a mess when you apply modeling glue to acrylic paint. My advice is, regardless of whether you assemble first or paint first, arrange the pieces so that you can envision it as a finished model; plan out your colour scheme, if it's darker you want to base in black, bright colours get based in white; apply your colours carefully and take the time to tidy up mistakes; and last, I would advise you drybrush your highlights. This is all really good strong basics from which you can easily explore more techniques and improve your minis painting. My first minis look decent but not awesome. After a few dozen minis, my models look much cleaner and nicer. I imagine your own progression will be much the same.
  13. Very nice. I especially like the Teddy Bear, and the back of the flayed woman is really cool.
  14. Finally! A use for leftover Tau bits! Really cool idea, and I'm totally scooping it outright. I do promise to give you full verbal credit at tableside, though.
  15. Very nice. Definitely an inspiration for my own Lady J crew.
  16. Hello, new to the game and this forum. Looking forward to this new obsession.
