  1. Please pardon my pics as this is my first scratch built rendition of the Whiskey Golem. Also in hindsight I should've used more contrasting colors. Also I apologize if the pics/posting is in the wrong format. This is also my first image posting on the forums. I just got back from templecon in RI where I submitted this model for the crystal brush. I got an honorable mention.

Thanks for checking it out. I'm debating if I want to keep it, redo another version, or sell it. By the way, the eyes are flickering LED lights. very cool in person.

    Thanks,
    Chris

  2. Any updates on Strategies and painting requirements?

For what its worth, I would prefer for painting to be required. Although an introductory level could be use. I.e. two colors + primed. That way at least you can tell the models apart....somewhat. let alone how nice it is to play w painted models.type this although I need to paint my crews up. On a related note, do the models need to be WYSIWYG? I would expect some leniency w some wave 2 models still not available.

    Thanks,

    Chris

  3. Anyone else have any experience w/ the Brewmaster? I keep looking over it several times and thinking why? He sounds fun to try out but I feel like something big is missing everytime I look at their rules...oh ya, its damage potential...

  4. Yes, the Ophelia thread in the gremlins forum led to an interesting read about RAW vs RAI and comparisons to other masters. Regardless, I expect that with very little corrections/alterations, these clearly broken rules could be eliminated. I would add to it that there is currently no logical reason to attach the weapon upgrades to Ophelia before the game. Instead, for 1ap ea. round one, the young lacroix (or lacroixes?) can add her upgrades onto her. This also seems to be an oversight. I humbly wait for a clarification/FAQ. It the meantime, I will play her as I believe the rules are intended and therefore more conservative.

  5. just wanted to say to everyone I met and played...well met. I truly had a good time in the masters. Definitely no easy matchups. Also nice to see other people playing ophelia...Silly me I thought I was in the minority. Grats to Greg for tearing it up in the masters! Grats to weakland for avatar...i guess there's always next year, maybe...

    Thanks,

  6. thanks for the correction. Yes jump is a (2) action. I appreciate the responses. However, let me summarize my questions:

    A) does jumping vertically or horizontally get reduced for difficult terrain? I assume not as it is already reduced.

    B) if you jump down a sheer cliff (unclimbable) does it reduce the damage from falling damage? A model with a 5" movement, jumps down from a 3" wall, does suffer the standard damage from falling down 3" or is it modified to 0.5" of falling (5"movement /2 = 2.5" jumped + 0.5" falling).

    C) can you jump both vertically and horizontally? It seems as though the RAW prohibits this.

    Thanks in advance.

  7. Good afternoon,

Could you please clarify how the Jump (All) action is used? For example, does a model that uses the jump action ignore difficult terrain for measuring? In addition, is the model subject to falling damage, if the model doesn't reach safe ground w/ its jump action?

Three examples of a model with a 5" movement is on a roof which has a 1" tall and 1" wide parapet. The wall on the other side is a 3" tall wall including the height of the 1" parapet:

WALKING:The model could use a standard walk action to climb up the parapet (difficult terrain) =2" of movement. The model would then place the model so the back edge of the model is resting on the parapet. It would then move forward so the rear edge of the base is on the outside of the wall (~2" of movement), then fall the remainder of the distance (3")...taking uncheatable falling damage. Lastly, if the model survives it could move the remainder of its movement distance away + second action from the wall. Correct?

    JUMPING:

    A) The model could use this action to jump over the wall. In this example, the jumps up to the top of the parapet (1" = 2" of movement). It then jumps 1" across the parapet (1" = 2" of movement). it then jumps 1/2" down the wall (1" of movement). It then falls the remainder of the distance (Less than 3"). So it takes no damage.

    or

    B)

The model uses a jump action to jump over the wall. It jumps up above the parapet (1.125" = 2.25" of movement). It then continues it jump over the parapet (1.125" = 2.25" of movement). It then continues the remainder of its jump down the wall (.250" = .5" of movement). The model then falls the remainder of the distance (2.75") for no falling damage.

Just trying to get some clarity. This question came up after a recent game to determine if jumping was a viable option.

    Thanks,

    Chris

  8. I had an enjoyable individual's event despite the chaos in the beginning and the obviously sub-standard terrain. Shooting was deadly in most games, cuz you couldn't hide. I wish I played a little better in the final game vs Jonah (and the return of Lady J). But all of my games were fun. The players were nice guys, good sports and made for some challenging games. Also it was fun to fit in a quick training game for a new player in between rounds.

In addition, being the only Neverborn player there that I saw...was a pleasant surprise. Looking forward to the next event and playing with more of my stuff.

By the way, I swung by to check out the doubles event ("Brawl") and didn't see it. Did it go off?

    Thanks again to everyone!

  9. I'm really looking forward to the events. Also it seems like there should be space for both events (saturday and sunday). So I strongly encourage people to check it out if you are going. Also I can speak for at least two of us, that we are not gaming neanderthals w/ 20,000 games played. So if you are new to the game, have interest in playing, and are planning to be at templecon with a crew (or a few), join in the fray. It should be a fun event.

    See you guys/gals there,

    Chris "alegionaire" flores

  10. So Evinky,

How do the attendance numbers for both days look? Are you expecting a full crowd both days? I must confess, I reluctantly bailed on the team tournament due to the time commitment and the conflict w/ the Patriots in the super-bowl. Who's local? Who's going?

    See you guys saturday!

  11. Thanks for the update. I am so excited to participate in both events. Can you please shed some light on the structure of the events, when available? For each event, is the plan to stick w/ one list or one faction?

    Thanks,

    Chris
