Thanks, all!
mgsanna, link at the end of the first line...
Like I said, no idea. For some reason the sizes aren't even in order. I tried uploading the same one twice, resized and saved differently, and it was still all wiggy.

Impressive, though I'd be interested to see what it looked like from other angles.
-
Cool, glad you're liking it!
I'll need to check out Blame, the style looks very nice. Thanks for the recommendation. If you're in to that art style, there's a funky little one-shot comic that I think was put out in the 90's called The Luck in the Head that I really liked. It's fantasy, and definitely more stylized, but has a similar sort of gloomy/monstrous thing going on, with spidery inking.
-
Cool, I hope you like it- I think it's one of the smarter shows around that's gotten practically no attention.
-
Thanks!
I can't pinpoint the specific basis, just bits and pieces from a lifetime of body horror media- giger, cronenberg, berserk are probably the core of that list of general life influences- funny thing, there: Kingdom Death has its obvious inspiration from Berserk (if you haven't played/just saw the minis, the actual environment is made out of stone faces), but I hadn't realized Dark Souls was also somewhat inspired by Berserk, some interview mentioned it. Also, probably a bit that my first heavily modified army was Nurgle-themed, which let me run wild with rotting body parts plus weird tech.
I haven't looked at Angel's Egg in years, but remember enjoying that one. If you like that bleak tech future (what I remember from the series), I'd highly recommend Texhnolyze as a more polished version of some of the same sensibilities.

Yeah, they didn't like my Marine enough either, *shrug*.
-
Just realized- there's totally a pun possibility in there, what with wyrds being psykers... yeah, a little slow.
-
Thanks, all!
Rust, would love to see what you do with it, I think you've definitely got the blending techniques that it wouldn't take you long to get in to it once you have the conceptual stuff in place. Also, LMK if there's any bits on my article that could be improved
waghorn, yeah, it was a little odd- I was trying to avoid any orange on the model, since I thought it would detract from the rest of the palate, but it ended up with a really saturated red. If I'd had another day or two, I'd have probably added a little grey to the highlights to tone it down a little, but I was off camping...
Whirler, yeah, that's kinda' whatcha' get when painting GW minis. Sometimes I try and tone it down a bit with their lines since a whole gothic army is a bit much, but with the near-baroque-levels of detail on the big boss man, I decided to embrace it for what it is and just try for solid, if overwrought, detail.

The drawings aren't my favorites, but I love what you did with the chicken.
-
Really nice subtle concept there.
-
Yeah, I like the base idea

Big fan of the brain and left over puppet bits.
edit: typo. Don't particularly care about cereal

Really cool looking piece, but yeah, the background and size make it pretty hard to get more than an impression.

the idea was that the gobber is trying to make some popcorn with a sort of laser/lightning generator
Oh, looked like it said "pope"- that's funnier now. I think it could have used the little dimples around the edges, and does it wrap "corn" around the side or something?

Cool stuff, I like how his base fits in.
Regarding what he's doing, he's trying out his laser and possibly concerned, but if there's a reference in the side of the box he's shooting, I'm not getting it...
-
Cool, I like the wall-drawling spiders.
-
Clever use of that pose- kudos.
-
Cool- what are the bird guys from?
-
The point where the flames touch the base look kind of funky, but I love what you did with the water and frog.
-
Very cool monochrome. Thought it was supposed to be crazy lighting, but either way the effect is great. Also, clever use of parts, there. I've done something similar with those pilots.
Also, what's the robot from?
-
Some subtle commentary, perhaps?
-
Those posters are a lot of fun!
-
Heh, fun concept, I like that quite a bit.
-
Really creative use of that Guilty. Kudos.

The body's a little weirdly flat, but I like the face/expression- a more challenging/serious attitude.
