Great advice all. I kinda had my heart set on Som'er but as my LGS doesn't keep extras on hand such as piglets, whisperers, etc I will probably start out with Ophelia box and expand from there.

I think I'm definitely leaning towards the Som'er lead crew. I love the pigs!

Hey all! So I'm a hardcore neverborn player. I picked up lilith box set first, then collodi, then z. Love neverborn. Lately though it seems as I've been bit by the gremlin bug. Bad. Skimmed through the fluff and I'm just loving the idea of a horde of crazy exploding pigs being driven by a wave of green nasties. Now I'm left with a decision. I know I will have to buy a bunch of models if I pick up Som'er box. And Ophelia seems like a good choice as her box is full of goodies from the get go. Can all you experienced bayou swashbucklers suggest a box, and why, and what models to pick up for those boxes first?

This sounds like a lot of fun to me! I would be willing to give it a go except I have neither kade nor teddy. Nobody at my LGS is opposed to proxies though, so I'm sure I will be able to give this a try and provide some feedback.

I don't think it would be necessary to add more defensive abilities with her built in defense trigger.

I like the idea of using blood counters as soulstones as weel, unless playing an opponent with no living or undead models

Though I've yet to paint them, I was thinking they would make some mighty fine effigy proxies.

Imho Kaeris box is worth it. The gunsmiths are an awesome model with a plethora of useful abilities. Not to mention she makes a swell addition to a Raspy led crew.

I've had similar troubles with the search festure as well. Maybe it just doesn't like us?

Hi Iron. Good question. Both models are very good. Personally I would take teddy in a Zoraida / Collodi crew. Not only is teddy two SS cheaper, killjoy requires you to sacrifice a friendly model to put him on the board. Teddy has a slightly higher walk, and with flight can move around the board much easier. Also if you look at the stats, teddy is simply a much better minion. The only thing I could think of having a reason to take killjoy over teddy is that teddy is immune to influence and cannot be obeyed by Zoraida

Welcome to the dark side! Enjoy NB and especially The Dreamer. Eventually things like placement and activation order will become second nature. He can have a steep learning curve for your first master, but very rewarding once you get the hang of it.

I have proxied avatar Lilith, only to find out her regular master form is much better. It's not to say avatar Lilith is horrible, but useful is so many more ways when not manifest.

Collodi was my second box. If you plan on running him solo I really do suggest the stitched as they come in super handy for defending your crew from ranged attacks. Plus the wp bonus they get for being close to him is always nice with gamble your life. I just picked up z box so it's time to let the demented puppet games begin!

Ok so granted I've never played Z or Pandora. I think you would get more bang for your buck by taking 2 more wicked dolls in place of Kade. Sure Z can make them, remember you get bonuses when they are in groups so the more the merrier. Plus a 0 action heal makes me choose wicked dolls any day of the week.

Woot! I just got my new phone, an LG Genesis. Spent all last night charging it up in anticipation of playing with it all day today. Now I can be on forums when I should be working. Hallelujah!

Tuco = brilliant. I'm totally looking forward to fielding him against guildies and giving them a taste of their own medicine. Also on a random side note I started watching the first season of breaking bad where Walt sells meth to this badass mexican kingpin named Tuco...hah

If you're going to play Collodi, you want to remember that possibly your greatest threat is anything that can spam blasts/pulses. Collodi is going to typically end up clumped together in a ball of puppety death, and Sonnia/'Tina/etc can really do a lot of damage with a couple blasts.

This is something that's been on my mind since I purchased his box. With the addition of Kaeris soon, I see my beloved puppets getting blown to pieces :explode:

its not considered killed till after the action is done.

So I was playing my friend the other night and we ran into a bit of an interesting situation. Wicked doll and Rotten belle were engaged in melee. Wicked doll made a successful strike to kill the belle, but she had slow to die. At this point, while the belle has 0 wounds remaining, and before using her last action for slow to die, can wicked doll use the 0 action to summon another wicked doll? Or does the wicked doll have to wait for the belle to make her last action. I had several opportunities to make more wicked dolls, but they were always killed by the belles last action from slow to die. Clarification please

As a Lilith player, and her box set being the first I purchased, I'm actually quite excited about her avatar. I don't see why people would be up in arms about her being forest-centric.
