How I know I'm too into Malifaux when...

I think of new sculpts/green stuff conversions for Malifaux minis at least three times a day.

Have a friend sculpt the totems for your gremlins and it ends up costing as much as the Wyrd minis (friend charges $10/hour for sculpting).

When playing your Gremlins you shout, "You gotta real purdy mouth on you boy!" and other disturbing redneck sterotypical sayings and then you don't stop after the game's done. It takes a good 1-2 hours to stop talking in a Southern accent.

I so want to hate loathe and vomit every time I hear Train's "Soul Sister" song.... but I ALWAYS end up singing along to it.:frusty: And I blush as I sing along...

I am embarrassed that I have an obsession to squeal like a 9 year old girl every time I'm with my girlfriend in public and we see a product that has Hello Kitty! on it. I dunno but I like embarrassing her too but I'm so ashamed.

Lucky for me, my girlfriend fully supports my gaming habit-addiction. She is even interested in the models now that I have started playing Malifaux.

I think I will train her first paintbrush upon some old Skaven that I will never play. Just so she can learn the basics. Then paint up my Gremlins and Seamus and then show her the beauty of the game itself.

She has her beads-jewelry design thing, and scrapbooking and SCA. I have minis. It works out to give us our own space and down time from each other.

Hands down it is Captain Novolin.

Captain Novolin is a so-called Superhero (actually a cleverly disguised product placement for Novolin Insulin) who's only weakness is sugar, eating too much, not eating enough, taking too much insulin, not taking enough insulin, and not exercising enough. He's also got all the same super powers as Batman, but lacks the gadgets and training.

This game is offensive to me on so many levels, as a gamer, a diabetic, and as a human being.

Board games: I loathe the bidding/negotiating mechanic used in many European board games. Ra, Settlers and others just turn me off not so much by the rules but the mechanic of the game itself.

Miniatures: All mini games have their advantages and disadvantages. Ok, being diplomatic with that statement. Crimson Skies comes to mind of a FASA game that was just clunky and not intuitive. Perhaps because I played Interceptor before Crimson Skies, I wanted a wiring diagram-like damage chart on my WWII alt-history plane and I didn't get it so I didn't like it as much.

Evolution Games has Malifaux played mostly on Tuesday nights and Sunday afternoons. Come by and learn the game!

Just got rolling with Malifaux about three weeks ago. Long time RPGer and table top enthusiast. Burnt out on imbalanced games systems and once I tried Malifaux, I like the dynamics of the cards and the numbers and the suits all coming into play to make a playable, fun skirmish game.

The LGS is rolling with someone owning at least one of each crew in the game so we can all try something different if the current crew is a bit of a headache (like my Gremlins can be unless they go against Perdita).
