  1. Malifaux returns to Vapnartak once again for 2016! I'll be running the tournament again next year which will take place on Sunday 7th February 2016 in York.

Vapnartak (aka Vappa, Varpatnik, Vappa Dappa Ding Dong or however you prefer to pronounce it) is an annual gaming show held each year at York and features lots of traders, demo games, a tabletop sale and a ton of other stuff. The event takes place in the Knavesmire stand at York race course which is a really nice venue for a tournament.

The format will be fixed faction, 3 rounds, 45SS per round. That gave us a good long lunch break last year to allow us to have a look round the event, it'll be about 5 minutes shorter this year to accommodate the slight longer round times. The rules pack can be found at:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/jhxltqo2x9sbxd5/Vappa-rules-pack-2016v1.1.pdf?dl=0

Tickets are £15 each, with the payment details in the rulespack. Please ensure you send the cash as a GIFT. Lunch is not included this year, or more specifically sandwiches are not included. You will stick get a can of pop, crisps etc but no sandwich. There are several food outlets onsite or bring your own.

  2. Thanks everyone for coming today and making the event a success. I will post the full results when I have had chance to take a break (probably tomorrow now).

Thanks to all your generosity we will have raised £565 including Gift Aid for the British Heart Foundation, which is more than double what we made for the BHF last year. Sam will be adding it to our Just Giving page once he's paid it into the bank.

  3. Anyone driving able to pick me up from York train station in the morning?

Many thanks, and maybe a beverage on offer!

I'm at the venue early setting up otherwise I'd come and get you. If you're really stuck, the number 1 bus goes from the station and stop right outside the Folk Hall in New Earswick.

  4. No worries James, thanks for letting me know.

I've had some extra prize support today from the awesome Bendy Boards, who have not only been good enough to provide the wooden spoon prize but also several of their excellent Wild West building range.

Also, the Outpost in Sheffield have pitched in some gift vouchers as well as a couple of mystery boxes!

  5. Yep, should be good.  I have a few things to sort still (printing, terrain stock take) but I think I'm on track.  We've got some nice prizes as well.

I will be posting the scheme pools up tomorrow.  The rules pack says 48 hours before but work is going to mean I won't be near a PC on Thursday to post them so I'm bringing it forward a bit.

  6. No worries Mike. I've had two other dropped outs so the reserve places have been offered already, so I will try and shift your ticket on.

We will have plenty of space and tables if you want to play something different.

1 place available, maybe 2 more if the reserve list people don't respond to my PMs.

  7. Just a little under 3 weeks to go to the event, and we've still got a few things to do (like generating the scheme pools for example).

    Couple of things:

-Don't forget the event is a fully painted event (like last year).

-Schemes will be posted on the forum a couple of days before the event.

  8. Yay!

So we're all sold out now, so I will take names for the reserve list if anyone is still interested.

I have also lined up a new sponsor in the shape of our glorious overlords: Wyrd Miniatures. I will post up the goodies they're sending me once I have them in my hands.

Our second new sponsor is the always awesome Bendy Boards (bendyboards.co.uk).
