There's the Wargames Store on the Wirral (near Clatterbridge Hospital and Cheshire Oaks) which sells Malifaux and has gaming space. Not sure how much gets played there, I've only visited the shop but could be worth a try also.

Is that much of a distance out? was looking at that myself
It's a couple of miles from the city centre, so easy in a taxi. Probably about 10 minute drive from the venue.
-
Hull Road Travelodge looking reasonable at £37 per night.
-
There are tons and tons of hotels in York, so you should find something cheaper if you check round.
-
We have the server admin on standby in order to try and avoid that.
-
I've just booked the Blossom Street south Premier Inn in the city centre for £45 for the Saturday night (my house is a long way from York when you've had a skinful). If you do decide to stay in the city centre there's a frequent bus service from the station to right outside the venue.

Boom! Should be the biggest event the world has ever seen

There's a good scene in the North East, Big Ned is running a tournament in Sunderland next weekend which I'm playing in.

More of a league this one, but I'll be running a new player friendly league starting on the 18th June or so at York Garrison.
40SS fixed master, the prize is bragging rights,. Full details: http://yorkgarrison.co.uk/index.php/forum7?view=topic&catid=38&id=9413#12723

Where about's in Yorkshire are you? If you're in York then let me know and we can maybe arrange a game at York Garrison wargaming club.

Generally I am better off using my AP to assist my crew in actually gaining me VP.
+1 to what EternalVoid said. The Voodoo Doll is cool and all, but it's so massively resource intensive in AP and cards, I don't find it worth doing. I prefer the Primordial Magic with Zoraida personally.

When do you need a commitment?
We're still finalizing the booking details, but we should get those nailed in the next few days. Once that's done tickets will go on sale.

Thanks for the feedback Chris. We actually did it that way at Vappa and changed it to separate for this one, so it's bit of a balancing act.

If anyone has any constructive feedback on the escalation style format, then please let me know. PM me here or on the twittah.

Shall I just email you a spreadsheet for the upload Mike, or do they need to be in a special template?

I personally prefer Kade with Lilitu for the pounce since he gets it as standard and is better in combat than Lelu since whatever you're pouncing on is likely to be engaged with Lilitu as well, thus giving Kade +2 Dg.

Every table will have a list of every scheme pool for all games at the start of the day, same as was done at Vappa for those who were there.

Yes , fine.

One other thing I forgot to mention: As we're trying to get 4 games in we need to start promptly at 0930, so if you could start arriving from 0900 onwards that would be great.
-
Thanks everyone, that should cover us.

Just six days to go now, I'm just putting together some of the final documents for the day.
Just a few things to make you aware of in advance:
-If a couple people could bring some terrain with them that would be great if it's not too much hassle. I'm pretty sure we've got enough but we've moved things around alot at the club recently so some of the club terrain is still in storage. I'd rather have some extra and not need it really.
-Food. The Folk Hall cafe will be open selling breakfast and me and Sam will be taking orders during the first round. Similarly for lunch, the cafe will be taking orders first thing (me and Sam will be sorting this for you and taking your order). It'll be typical gamer grub, don't expect Heston Blumenthal. If you don't want that, there's a corner shop just a couple of minutes walk away and a chippy next to it. It'll be cash only naturally. The cafe will be open serving cans of pop, tea (for James), chocolate bars and so on.
-We'll be delighted to receive any lose change or other donations to the BHF on the day, so bring your wallets Don't forget Dave the artist will be on hand to produce artwork of any miniature you want in return for a donation to the BHF.
The prize pool is looking very healthy indeed, there's a ton of stuff in there I'd love to have.
There's getting on for £400 in prizes when you roll in the trophies, the vouchers and the giant raffle pool.
We also have a couple of new sponsors:
4Ground, who have provided a nice discount voucher for the overall winner....
...and Commission Figurines who are providing us both one of their Walled Farm terrain pieces, and their church terrain piece. You might remember these guys from a Kickstarter they did last year, and also I have one of their farm's which was in use at Vappa:
They make some really nice terrain, and they're preparing for a second Kickstarter soon which will include some Malifaux oriented terrain as well. You can find them at http://www.commission-figurines.co.uk/.

Yes, it's Saturday.
UKGT 8th November Evening Event
in Europe
Posted
Just some details on what we're planning on doing for the evening event during the UKGT.
This year we're planning a p*** up in a brewery. Literally.
We're hiring out the Taproom at York Brewery from 1900 until 2330 for those who would like to come along. There will a buffet and beer and maybe some other stuff. No doubt boardgames will be getting played as well as loads of people have offered to bring games, and Clousseau has offered to run a GT quiz.
There's a cost of this as we need to cover the room hire and the cost of the buffet, so it will be £10 per person which will be separate from the main GT ticket (i.e. this isn't include in the GT ticket). I have enough space to cover everyone who has a GT ticket, so this event is ONLY available to GT players in the first instance. If there's still space once all the players have decided whether they want to come then there may be spare places for other people who don't have GT tickets. Equally, if you are playing in the GT but can't make this evening do (or don't want to come) then just let me know as well so we can cross you off the list.
Tickets are available by sending £10 AS A GIFT via PayPal. My email address is as my forum name at sky dot com. The cut off for tickets is 1st October, and entrance to the event is by advance payment only. Please let me know when you're buying the ticket who it is for if you're buying more than one.
Hope to see you all there, it should be a good night
