  4. I have never done this before, but maybe fiber optics would be the way to go? Fitting the light itself in or near the box in the model itself would be very tricky, fiber optics run up her leg might work out better.

  5. Fitting the battery under a base took a little bit of fussing about. I used two bases, put together like an oreo. The bottom base is simply a base (I used a magnet to hold the two together. The top base had part of it cut out to better fit the battery and I built up a bit of basing material around that hole to hide it. This works surprising well at keeping the battery contained under the base even during play.

  6. I had no clue how to work with LEDs and then I lit up my Rail Golem using a Fire Kit from these guys:

    http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/ledlights1.html

Their kits are helpful, but definitely more expensive than buying elsewhere, but they have nice small components (such as switches, batteries, and wire) which are comparable in price, so I would recommend this website for at very least a start (if you have any working knowledge of electronics, you can almost certainly do it cheaper from elsewhere).

  7. The 2nd Edition Book contains all models for what is referred to as Wave 1. This is slightly below half of all the models that were in v1.5 Malifaux. The remainder of the models (including Hamelin and Collodi) are part of an Open Public Beta. These models are in Wave 2. This is the link for this weeks (October 29,2013) update for the Wave 2 beta: http://www.wyrd-games.net/showthread.php?48289-Wave-2-Beta-Update-10-29 This updates every week, and can be found in the Wave 2 Beta sub-forum within the Malifaux Matters section of these Forums.

It should also be noted that Collodi is now a Master (Henchman has a different connotation in M2e) and it should further be noted that if you mean Hamelin the Rat Catcher (Minion Hamelin from v1.5) he is one of two models that will not be making the transition into M2e (Minion Misaki being the other model) as these two models both have a Master incarnation (and the need to separate the two becomes annoying from a rules perspective hence why their lower stature versions were left out of the transition).

    Hope that helps!

  8. @ Sevorin: Mei Feng is both so whether or not she is 10T as well is irrelevant to her being an Arcanist (maybe she likes her Ten Thunders friends better but the Arcanists have cake!)

@ edonil: Yeah I kinda got that impression from Ironsides as well (her name certainly seems to indicate such), but it just seemed odd to me that a "dodgy" melee master isn't a melee master for us Arcanists, but a "tanky" melee master is a melee master? This thinking then spiraled me into self doubt over my abilities with Mei Feng. Hence this thread!

  9. So Justin said on his blog (http://justindrawingdead.com/?p=42) that Ironsides "is the first melee oriented Arcanist master." So, what should I be doing with Mei Feng? I've been using her to bounce in, take out a model or two on the periphery of my opponent and then either jumping back out, or staying where she is because it's safer there (usually because she killed things that might hurt her). Other than Railwalker (which can allow you to move directly into a melee attack) and Vent Steam Mei Feng doesn't do much other than melee, unless I am using her completely wrong. Is this what others are finding, or is Mei Feng secretly the greatest at something other than punching and/or kicking in faces?

  10. hey nix,

The Game Castle henchman is Silas Cordell on the forums and the Myriad Manchester henchman is Peregrine Falco. I unfortunately m not familiar with their normal gaming schedule.

I am the newly minted henchman in the Amesbury, MA area, which is about 45 minutes from Londonderry, NH. My group plays at the Toy Soldier Games and Comics. We don't currently have a very set time to play Malifaux (Tuesday afternoons tend to be the best because of my super-weird schedule), but I do know that if you set some time aside and let us know I know a few of us down here are fans of the podcast and would love to meet you, so we can drive up and meet you at the Game Castle or Myriad Manchester on their normal Malifaux days.

I'll keep an eye out on this thread for further information, or you can e-mail me directly at brown.a.tylr2gmail.com if you wish.

  11. Check out the list of Henchman here: http://www.wyrd-games.net/content.php?115-henchman-program

Finding your nearest Henchman, or at least your nearest store that contains Malifaux will be your best mens of getting help and getting opponents to play! If you cant find Henchman or a store near you, then just let all of us in the forum know, and we can try to help you find a henchman or store, or help you out directly so you can grow a play group and maybe someday become Henchman yourself!

Oh and welcome to the game and the Forums, we're happy to have you!

  13. The Ramos box is a great start. You will want to either consider magnetizing the small arachnids or buy more small arachnids (the ability to have 6 small arachnids and/or 2 swarms is all yo will ever need). Ramos' avatar does come with one set of alternative arachnid sculpts as well, so you'll easily make it to this number of arachnid models one yo get his avatar.

The electrical creation is a must. This is an attack spell that Ramos has that makes this ticking time bomb (note that the electrical creation is unique so you'll only ever need one).

Ramos absolutely loves a totem. The Mobile Toolkit really helps Ramos out and I would recommend him over the Brass Arachnid. This is for two reasons: the Mobile Toolkit gives Ramos a :tomes to his Ca, which helps him with a couple o his spells (notably his summons) and gives him his Surge trier to boot. The brass Arachnid can give something Reactivate at the cost of an 11 :tome or better, which is a card that Ramos will need since you do not have the Mobile Toolkit to give Ramos those ;tome .

One Large Steampunk Arachnid is helpful. It brings in something all Crews need: Significant models.

I then recommend one of two options for a new player: A Guardian or Rusty Alice. The Guardian an give Ramos even better Armor, as well as the added benefit o the Guardian protecting him (or it could be used on your Steamborg as well). Rusty Alice gives you a ranged model, a little it o protection, but more important allows you to see two extra cards during your draw step.

From this point you'll get a good grasp of Ramos and what he needs/would like. His ox is very playable out o the gate, so long as you get the Electrical Creation so Ramos an wreak some havoc with it. From this point, looking at other Constructs is a good idea, such as the Mechanical Rider or the newly released Rail Golem. The Kaeris Box Set is also a good pick up, as Kaeris greatly augments a Ramos crew, and as Ramos tends not to use as many Soulstones, Kaeris an feel free to gobble them up. (Avatar Ramos does like him a few of those Soulstones though). The Gunsmiths from Kaeris' ox can add some extra range to a Ramos crew as well.

Overall Ramos likes Constructs, but feel free to have a splash of non-constructs (such as Kaeris or Rusty). Also be sure to check out the Pull My Finger Tactica Wiki for some helpful advice as well: http://pullmyfinger.wikispaces.com/
