Is Von Schill not a master then?

So If I run with the Viks and Von Schill do I declare which one is the master? or can you run both as masters? Do I just use the declared masters soul stone cache?

So I played my first game yesterday and it was great. Naturally it took us ages to play and referring to ou cards and the rulebook constantly. ONce we got in to the hang of the combat and various flips it became smoother. I was using the Viktorias boxset and it soon became apparent this set was all very close up. Another thing I noticed was that in a 25ss starter game I had 1 Soulstone to play with which was troublesome. I was really dependent on the cards coming up as I wanted. I'm not really sure how to use the Viks properly at this point, they very much played as inidivual characters although having 2 masters was handy when one died. Do you Vik players tend to keep them together as companions and move them up together or do you use them in different ways? I can see their multiple enemy attack can be useful, whirlwind? Johan took a beating, but as he died he managed to get a 4 damage swipe in. I never really pulled off Bishops targeting spell, it was the only ranged 'thing' I had to use so I kept using it, but by the time I got up close they had run out of LoS and negating the spell. Good fun though and whilst it wasn't a 'proper' game I did win in the end as I ganged up on lady Justice and took her out.

Hmm although Ronin and Gunslinger seem like good additions.

Great tips thanks, I think the Freikorp box is the way to go next. I played my first game last night and noticed that the original boxset crew is very up close with virtually nothing castable/shootable at range. Need to fix that

So I finally got round to finishing the box set this weekend and am playing my first game of Malifaux tonight. The gaming group are already talking about expanding gmae sizes in the future and I wondered if anyone had any tips on adding to this boxset to make it more rounded? I'm happy to consider another boxset and picking and choosing or just buying some extra models. Thanks

I wish I was better at painting, but kinda pleased with this. I have been playing with base colours and washes mostly, but tried my hand at highlighting the flesh tones on this model. I look at the Bishop on the Wyrd website and it looks so amazingly painted, I guess that just comes with practice and patience?

Mercenaries Victorias & Legion of Sorrows. My current table is grass flocked with rocky hills, something fitting with that would be great. I love the idea of including a building or two though.

Hey everyone. I've just ordered 2 box sets for Malifaux so I can get them painted up and put on a game for other tabletop friends to see if I can generate some interest. I'd like to make it interesting and build a small set of scenery, enough to make a starter game for 2 people interesting. Any ideas for scenery sets that look suitable for the world? I'm yet to receive my rule book so have little info about the lore or the setting although I understand its western flavour. Thanks
