  1. This came up tonight playing the Weaver Widow. She tried to summon a Wicked Doll and failed to get the suit required. Since the spell didn't happen does the scrap counter still get discarded?

I seem to recall this being asked, I searched back through to post from December 2011 and didn't see anything. I think a Rules Marshall came in and said that if it fails nothing gets discarded as the discard is a cost of the summoning, not the cost of casting the spell.

If anyone has a link to the thread in which I refer that would be great too.

Additionally: On the Weaver Widow's card it says after the (CC15M/Rst-/Rng:C) AR: Discard one scrap counter and summon a Wicked Doll. What does the AR: mean?

  2. My list ended up being:

    Neverborn Crew - 25 - Scrap

    Collodi
    --
    3 Pool

    • Arcane Effigy
      [4ss]

    • Brutal Effigy
      [4ss]

    • Hodgepodge Effigy
      [4ss]

    • Marionette
      [2ss]

    • Marionette
      [2ss]

    • Mysterious Effigy
      [4ss]

    • Stitched Together
      [5ss]

We had Shared Turf War, my schemes were Bodyguard and Breakthrough.

    Opponent's list was:

    Guild Crew - 25 - Scrap

    C. Hoffman
    --
    4 Pool

    • Guild Austringer
      [5ss]

    • Peacekeeper
      [9ss]

    • Ryle, Guild Pawn
      [8ss]

    • Watcher
      [3ss]

He took assassinate and kill protege.

We had corner deployment and I slowly started moving along the bottom edge of the table while he ran through the middle. On turn 3 he took out Stitched with Ryle before I got up Creepy Fog. I was hoping he'd only be able to do enough to nearly kill him so I could use Hodgepodge or Brutal to wax him denying him the points for Kill Protege.

I used the Marionettes to move Collodi into his deployment zone by the end of turn 3. He decided it wasn't worth it to chase him and instead went after the Effigies I left near my deployment zone. I didn't manage to kill any of his models, but he took out all of my Effigies. I hadn't fully read the rules on Object and didn't realize they weren't living, had I known that I would've charged Ryle at one point with the Brutal, instead I opted to shoot him.

We ended with 8 me vs 6 him. I had almost activated the Stitched right after Collodi before he used Ryle to kill the Stitched to put up Creepy Fog, wish I had now.

When I ran Collodi across the table I was 1/8" from being able to take a shot at the Peacekeeper with dismantle.

  3. I forget the exact wording and I do not have the card in front of me right now, but with Ryle's replused (?) (0) action that moves him 4" directly away from the nearest living model and the nearest living model is 3 1/2" away does it move him to 4" away? Or 7 1/2" away?

    Starting point:

    ryle_premove.jpg

Option 1: Moves Ryle 1/2" putting him 4" directly away from the nearest living model

    ryle_move1.jpg

Option 2: Moves Ryle 4" putting him 7 1/2" directly away from the nearest living model

    ryle_move2.jpg

I have always played it as option 1, but my opponent tonight plays it as option 2.

With option 2 if the nearest living model was 24" away Ryle would still get a 4" push.

We went with option 1 as the only reason for the move was to get Ryle out of the Peacekeeper's way so he could beat up on my Effigy.

(I know my base sizes aren't totally to scale, but neither is the entire image as Ryle was closer to the Effigy than the Austringer, then I read Object and realized that it means the effigy is a non-living model and wouldn't have had to take the terrifying check if he charged Ryle and this would have been a moot point anyway.)

  4. I am bringing the Carrion to strip the Immune to Influence for my Stitched.

I've considered Pandora, but we're playing a campaign and the challenge was to play a new master, I picked Collodi. I am unsure how bringing Pandora to the mix would sit with everyone else. We missed our weekly meet where I was going to ask about this.

I like bringing the Wicked dolls because most of my opponents opt for high cost models and when I swarm they get flustered and I win. I would much rather have 3-5 Wicked Dolls though, but the stones for this week's game do not allow it.

If I were to drop the Carrion I'd also drop a Stitched and just keep them around for the Fog. I could then take the Brutal and Arcane, both of which I've considered.

  5. I'm getting ready to face C. Hoffman with Collodi, my current thought for my crew is:

    Neverborn Crew - 25 - Scrap

    Collodi
    --
    4 Pool

    • Carrion Effigy
      [4ss]

    • Marionette
      [2ss]

    • Marionette
      [2ss]

    • Marionette
      [2ss]

    • Marionette
      [2ss]

    • Stitched Together
      [5ss]

    • Stitched Together
      [5ss]

    • Wicked Doll
      [3ss]

    • Wicked Doll
      [3ss]

I was thinking about dropping the Wicked Dolls for the Mysterious Effigy to steal Hoffman's Open Conduit, but thinking about it, it doesn't effect constructs does it? So Machine Puppet would be the only thing I'd have to really worry.

  6. When these new erratas and fixes are added to the PDF could we either get a PDF with only the changes plus a PDF with everything, or the new stuff noted in red or a NEW icon for those of us that do not have them memorized we can easily see the new stuff?

Also in the wording of the Stitched Together's Does Not Die would it be possible to say that while DND can happen as many times per turn as he takes damage, that reactivate happens only once? I've never played a model with reactivate before using the STs and wasn't familiar with the reactivate rules, nor was my opponent and I had once reactivate twice in a single turn.

  7. Do you have a link for the bears you used for the Wicked Dolls? I remember seeing them a while back as an alternate for Teddy but due to their size I opted not to go that route but always thought they'd make great Wicked Dolls. Now that I am playing Collodi I'd love got get some.

Really love the spider legs under the dress on your Widow Weaver,

  8. I ran a 6 person 5 week campaign with AoM. We had fun, but it got tiring using the same master week in and week out. Plus we ran into a lot of instances that happened with the 1st book's rule. I knew what he meant and he knew what I meant, but when you read the rule it wasn't quite what we meant.

  9. You're sick! Sick I tell you! The only way to heal yourself is to send me that map so I can use.....er....dispose of it.

I have the plywood still, going to cut it and put it as the bottom of my portable Malifaux tabletop so that when you lift the foam sheet you'll see the map underneath.
