  1. Hello,

one more question: I just noticed that there is an other pretty good looking construct out there: Lazarus. And if I´m not mistaken, it is entirely possibly to field both, Lazarus and Rail Golem in the same crew.

So, do you have any experience running the pair of Rail Golem and Lazarus in the same crew?

To me it seems that Lazarus is more of a ranged threat while Rail Golem does his job close and personel, therefore they seem to complement rather nicely.

On the other hand, the both of them come to a total of 18 SS which does not leave a lot of spare points to get some cheaper minions on addition.

  2. Some pretty good answers here! Thanks folks!

I've also just discovered the join of taking him with a Metal Gamin, who as a 1 action (no flips invovled, no resist allowed) can take burning counters off of Rail golem as needed and turn them into damage at the enemy.

I have to reread the card of those Metal Gamins. Totally overlooked any synergies with a Rail Golem.

    @What to get to start?

Do you think this might be a good start for some Rail Golem fun?

    Mei Feng Box

    Rail Golem

    Kaeris Box

    @Rail Golem and Masters

Do you see any benefit / advantage in fielding the Rail Golem with Ramos? I like the background of Ramos and the look of most of his minions.

  3. Hi all,

I totally dig that Rail Golem model! And now I like to read about all your opinions, experience and thoughts concerning that fantastic looking model.

Mei Feng can use it wether she´s running as 10T or arcanists. But which other masters like to field a Rail Golem?

Which minions offer good synergy with the Rail Golem?

    Thanks in avance!

  4. Lastly, Coppelius... what doesn't this guy do? He hands out paralyze, poison, WP duels against living (or his spell) and he can summon alps. He has a lot of wounds moderate defense and destroys low armor stuff in melee. He's almost a henchman without Use Soulstone (instead he has Use Eyeballs...)

While I agree with most statements done in your post, I cannot see the benefits of Coppelius! Yes, he´s a very nice model and that´s the reason I like to get one, but on the other hand I wasn´t able to se his strenghts whenever I read his cards. Could you please elaborate the use of coppelius?

  5. Just to give a totally different idea for some fun games:

    Pandora

    Primordial Magic

    Mature Nephilim

    Insidious Madnesses

    Terror Tots

That way you get one pretty damn fast crew to scoot around the board. Mature Nephilim is a beast in close combat and has that beautiful trigger that allows for some crowd control with a lot of WP based duels.

You can also use the grow mechanism from time to time giving you some more potent melee fighters.

An other fast and furious model is von Schill which is a good addition to that model selection.

Pandora keeps pace due to primordial magic casting her spell on her to allow pushes after succesful WP duels.

Best thing with such a crew is: your opponents won´t get angry by the fact of almost infinite use of the twins. It changes the game for both, you and your opponent, which is always a good thing.

  6. My only issue with a 10T archer with him is that if you kill models at range then it is entirely possible to be to far from Yan Lo to get the chi for it.

That seems to be a valid point. I have to have a look on the rules for chi to fully understand your statement though.

On the other hand, sometimes there is that supporting character you like to see dead and therefore the inclusion of 1 archer might be a good idea – just in case. ;)

  7. Hi all,

got my Izamu today (a pretty nice model!) and now I´m thinking about getting a Yan Lo box for some additional fun. And because I always like to have some ranged support, a box of TT Archers came in mind, too.

So I like to ask: Would

    Yan Lo Box

    TT Archers

    Izamu

be a good start that offers some interesting games?

Or should I consider some additional purchases, too, to get the most out of Yan Lo?

  8. youll need a pack of mindless zombies.. mabye a few depending on how you end up playing him. i get by with one and some proxied by leftover models from your pool.

How many do I need? Is one blister (3 models) enough? Or should I get more?

the rotten bells are SOLID support for only 4ss. i never want to take one... but am always impressed by them when i do

We,, rotten belles – favourites of mine due their look. I think I have to get some.

If you really love the zombies, nicodem's avatar might do it for you. ;)

I´ll have a look at him then. :)

the necropunks are "technically" zombies, and i find them very very useful as objective grabbers. (not as great as the night terrors, but they don't fit your theme as well as the necros)

Although I read some nice threads about Nicodem with a horde of necropunks, I don´t like those sculpts. On the other hand, I see their use, which makes it difficult to stay away from them.

    Hope this helped!

    Yes, thanks!

  9. Hi all,

I ordered Nicodem because I am thrilled by the idea of Nicodem being the ZOMBIEmaster and I highly like all kind of Zombie theme (be it movies, novels, games,...).

Well, let´s say I want to run Nicodem with nothing but zombies (ie every single model has to be some kind of zombie), which models should I get then? And why? And, of course, which models should I avoid?

    Thanks for all your help!

  10. Hi all,

I just ordered the following models:

    Nicodem Boxed Set

    Grave Spirit

    Izamu

    Flesh Construct

(The model selection is based on the look of the models, I will get some Necropunks and maybe some Canine Remains as well as some Mindless Zombies in the near future.)

Ok, what Crew do you count to be a good opponent against this model selection? I want to get a second painted crew just for demoing the game to all who might be interested.

    Thanks in advance

  11. Hi all,

I´m pretty pulled towards the look of some of the arcanists crews (mainly Mei Feng, Marcus and Showgirls). But I also like to run really fast crews from time to time. Therefore my question:

Can Arcanists play the fast game? Zooming around the board and hitting the opponent from unexpected angles?

If so, which master / minions excell in that style of game?

  12. Sorry for hijacking that thread, but I thought that it wouldn´t be the best idea to open a new thread with almost the same content as this one. Well, that being said, this thread is a nice read and I got plenty of really good informations.

    One question though:

I dig the sculpts of both Dead Doxies and Punk Zombies. Will these minions work well with McMourning? Or will they be a total waste of points?

    Thanks in advance

  13. Hi all,

I totally love the sculpts of Mr Graves and the Beckoners and now I like to get some ideas / advice regarding crew selection. Well, I like to have a crew that includes the above named models, but which master should I run?

Is Jacob Lynch the natural choice? Is he the best choice at all?

To be honest, I don´t like the look of all those models you´ll get with the Dark Depths boxed set, therefore I´m searching for other ways to run both, Mr Graves and Beckoners to some degreee of fun and competetiveness.

Is there any way to do this? What´s your impressions with these models?

    thanks in advance

    ZK

  14. If you mean Von Shill's Hard Ass (0) Action it is not just +4 Wp it is +4Wp for Moral Duels. Meaning it will not help you on the offense as it will not modify your attacks using Wp.

Have a look on Expose Fears. That +4WP is going to make Pandora unvincible.

    Pandora and VonSchill...

and some Insidious Madnesses and some Terror Tots. I call them speedffreaks. And have a great lot of fun playing this group.

  15. I totally dig the sculpt of that little baby and that´s all I needed to field him in every single game I played so far. Playing with the models I like has always been my style of army composition rather than going for the most effective build.

That way, I simply love Kade.

In fact, I´m going to get a Hamelin crew based on the "real" legend "Pied Piper of Hamelin" (have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pied_Piper_of_Hamelin), in which I´ll field Kade, Candy, rats and the like...

  16. Nice to read that wonderful thread here!

A question to all of those who already got a look on the rules:

I´m especially interested in Mr. Graves and the Beckoners (just love these models), but I regularly play Pandora and Lillith – do you think that any of Mr. Graves or Beckoners will be a good addition to either Pandora or Lillith?

    Thanks in advance

  17. Hi all,

I recently found a nice substitute for the Dead Rider model (really don´t like the original sculpt) and now I´m thinking about getting one and make it the center piece of a Ressers crew.

But I don´t know much about ressers and therefore I like to ask you: What master should I consider if I like to field a Dead Rider? Ie which master gets the best out of his Dead Rider? Where are the good synergies?

    Thanks in advance

  18. Well, actually I like to run low cost models with my Neverborn, meaning that reagularly my 5SS Stichted are the most expensive models in my crews.

But I also like to run a big hitter every now and then. If I like to do so, I run two of them, because if I´m going for some melee, I like to get some melee. I´ve lost so many big hitters due to exeptionally good cards by my opponent (ie red joker), so that I like to go for redundancy if I field big hitters.

  19. Hi all,

to me it seems that maneuverability is the most important aspect in that game. Be it several schemes / strategies, be it the success of thos fast paced / high maneuverable creas such as Dreamer or Zoraida/Collodi. Even with my Pandora Crews I often win because I´m able to get the most out of my highly maneuverable models such as Pandora, Insidious Madnesses and Mature Nephilim.

Maneuverability helps you to get the first strike if needed, to fastly advance towards mission objectives, to avoid melee, to jump from cover to cover,...

What do you think? Is maneuverability really that important?

  20. It´s a great read her, thanks to all of you!

One question that immediately sprang to mind: Is Transposition affected by the Immune to Influence rule? I.e. may I cast it to move a Teddy for example?

I can hardly await the release of Lilliths new sculpt, it looks so sexy!

  21. Is more the fact that von schill is simply incredible with Zoraida (x2 obeys and nimble!) but this means you cant hire any other special forces or mercenaries... therefore you woul have to take von schill and either a trapper or the librarian, leaving you with really only IM as an option for neverborn shooting. Therefore you would maximize this by using a terror causing beast.

Whats with Tuco? He´s a shooter and if I remember correctly, he can get terrifying, too (I´m not sure on this one, though). Oh, and he has a pretty good spell that shrugs off "friendly" off a model which is a huge thing IMO.

EDIT: Just had a look at Tuco on PullMyFinger. Yes, he has terrifying and yes, his spell that negates "friendly" is a (1) spell and yes, his weapon offers blast, making him a really viable addition to such a crew, especialy with a Doppelganger nearby.

So what do you think about this crew:

    Neverborn Crew - 35 - Scrap

    Zoraida, the Hag
    --
    6 Pool

    Von Schill
    [10ss]

    • Doppelganger
      [8ss]

    • Insidious Madness
      [4ss]

    • Stitched Together
      [5ss]

    • Tuco
      [7ss]

Some shooting and a bit of WP based powergaming as well as a very good utility box named Doppelganger.
